Our family of six came in on Mothers Day with reservations and were quickly seated. The staff are nice but perhaps it was super busy so they weren't too attentive. The place itself is really nice and lovely! There is a back room where we were seated which would make for a perfect space for a party. The food was also really delicious. I recently hosted my daughter's first birthday here but have also dined in many times. This restaurant is actually the same restaurant from Siam in Queens and the experience has been exceptional if not better. Their atmosphere feels warm but eccentric, modern and trendy. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and make you feel genuinely taken care of without being overbearing. The food is always beautifully presented and packed with authentic, well-balanced flavors. I find the quality better than most Manhattan Thai eateries. Their pricing is reasonable for the portion sizes... I can never finish the main dishes. Appetizers are almost the size of main dishes, and I highly recommend the morning glory because it is beyond addicting. I would definitely host another party here in the future, and I would recommend trying out their lunch menu if you're craving some Thai! read more

Came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! The lunch menu is $25 and includes an appetizer, main dish and a drink. I ordered from the lunch menu: money bag dumplings as the appetizer, chicken pad kee mao (drunken noodles) for the main and Thai iced tea. I tried the Thai iced tea first and it kind of reminded me of a slushie. Different, but good! Thumbs up! Next were the money bag dumplings. It's filled with pork and shrimp inside, and while I wasn't sure about the crispy combo at first, my taste buds were impressed. There were three, and I definitely wanted more. Lastly, the chicken pad kee mao (great serving size!). I expected a smaller portion, but they were very generous, which I appreciated because it was delicious. I requested light spicy and it was bursting with flavor, the perfect amount of heat with more emphasis on taste, Service was wonderful, the ambiance matches the beauty of the restaurant, and there's plenty of parking. Went back for dinner after a year and was still absolutely loving the food. We ordered diffferent items this time minus the drunken noodles. That was still the crowd fave and even though I am a baby who can't handle the spice level, everyone else devoured it. We got the basil beef, the tom yum soup with seafood and the zabb wings. If you ever see Zabb wings on a thai menu - order it. The tangy and spicy dusting of seasoning paired with sweet chili sauce is divine. The soup was excellent too and the beef in the basil beef was tender. We did also order the dessert sampler - it was demolished before I took a photo. The best thing that this place has going for itself is that it's a non-fast food restaurant located at a shopping mall. Flavor wise nothing wowed me, but this Thai spot is probably one of the better places to eat in the mall. The Thai Tea was prepared pretty quickly and wasn't sweet, which makes me think that it was prepared with an earlier batch and diluted with water or cream. The Thai Scallop Crude was alright. Had a kick of spiciness from the pepper, but nothing stood out. The Siam Platter is a must get for groups of 4+. You get 4 pieces of various bite sized appetizers. The chicken satay was the weakest of the bunch by far. The Pad See Ew was decent. It was a standard sweet, oily flat noodle dish. Nothing stood out. The Pad Kra Pao (ground beef) was nice. I like the portion and ratio meat to veggies. The spicy level was very tolerable, but non-spicy eaters should go for a mild or non-spicy. The Mango Stick Rice was okay. I wish there was more syrup that came with the dessert. The utensils that were provided to us were incredibly small (most likely meant for Ice Cream). It was hard to section the mango and rice due to the textures and size of utensils. Overall, a really good spot to go if you need a bite at the shopping mall. Amazing Thai food!! This restaurant is conveniently located in a shopping mall. Been here twice and the food has stayed consistent. I have tried the following: the Siam sampler, curry puffs, creamy crab curry appetizer, the duck red curry, pad thai, the short ribs and the fish in the garden. Service is good but on a Saturday when we went, someone approached us to take a picture without letting us know they were going to charge us for it after being printed. You can always say you don't want it, but why not start by letting us know about the charge. As for the food, our favorite appetizer is definitely the money bag dumplings and the creamy curry with lump crab. They are very generous with the crab in the creamy curry appetizer. Boom Check this... As soon as we arrived we were greeted and seated. I was starving and this was Friday around 8:30 so I was extremely happy about that. By the bar there were playing Dragon Ball Z ( an anime ) so before getting my food this place already had 5 stairs in my book lol. Siam Thai does a great job of setting a vibe that feels elevated yet causal simultaneously which is nice. I ordered from both the happy hour menu and regular menu. The mussels in the curry sauce were delicious. I literally took the curry home to reuse because I just wanted to drink it out of a cup lol although some of the mussels were overcooked I literally didn't even care because the curry flavor was so delicious. As an entree I had the pineapple fried rice. The presentation was beautiful. What I will say about this restaurant is that the portions of food are NOT lacking. You will get enough to share even if you order something that's not on the shareable menu which is nice. I wanted more pineapple in my fried rice but overall it was tasty. Tipflation Warning... Lets start off with Service. We were immediately greeted and seated, place wasnt packed but had a few tables filled. Servers were attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and definitely was able to give great suggestions. Food portions were generous too. Ambiance was very warm and welcoming. Siam Platter: * a platter of Satay Chicken Skewers, it wasnt overcooked where it becomes dry or tough, it was soft and textured also flavorful with or without the peanut sauce. * moneybag dumplings, probably the least liked item of the dinner. It was crunchy like a fried wonton, didnt feel greasy, but the filling was kinda bland, couldnt make out what I should be tasting, the vinegar sauce/duck sauce, covered everything up. * Chive Cakes, it was chewy like fried mochi/rice cake. It was very good, i dipped it in different sauces just for different tastes. * came with some Nam/indian flatbread. Those had a crossiant texture. Kinda wanted to order more if everything wasnt such large portions. Green Curry Chicken, you might wanna try to get an order of their flatbread for dipping cuz the rice that comes with it is not enough. It has somewhat of a kick and we already mentioned not too spicy... but that spicy was a good spicy... gotta say i wrapped it up and brought it home and ate another pot of rice with it... they were generous with the ingredients inside the curry too. Found chunks of chicken in there along with mushrooms and other yummys. Highly recommended. Pad See Ew, Perfect would be the word i would use to describe it. Not too salty, not too greasy, and a generous portion. We got the added chicken. Thai Iced Tea, love the cups. Too much ice... the flavor was lacking, and very watered down. Dessert Set, very authentic, the coconut pudding was legit! We got the red bean icecream, it was decent, its icecream, not much more to say... the Mango Sticky Rice, i appreciate that they used the yellow mangoes and not the green large mangoes (iykyk), a bite of the mango and a bite of the sticky rice becomes a perfect blend of the two. They didn't provide a soup bowl for the Tom Yum soup, and the bill showed the drinks at the original price instead of the happy hour price. They also charged an extra money for using a credit card. Beautiful interior and quick service! Siam Thai is located next to the parking garage entrance. Very convenient! It was six of us, and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. I got to taste a little big of everything. My top fav was the Tomahawk Short Rib Massaman Curry. The short rib is braised for 12 hours, and it's tender. The curry is rich, fragrant, and flavorful with just the right amount of spicy. I can eat a whole bowl of rice with the curry. So delicious! Must order!!! The Crispy Pork Belly is a close second. It's crispy with so many flavors and bright vegetables. The Chicken Skewer with the peanut sauce was outstanding and a must order apetizer. Attentive and quick service! read more

This is a hidden Thai restaurant at a mall strip. The decor at this restaurant is beautiful. This is a kids friendly family restaurant. Standouts are the duck curry and the soft shell crab curry! I recommend reserving on resy because this place gets packed. The interior is spacious, colorful, and well decorated. However, the lighting makes it hard to take good photos of food. Food - the curries are well done, they are flavorful and delicious. The duck curry is creamy, sweet and savory. The lychees are a really nice addition. I recommend skipping on the scallop crudo (very small portion) and the pad Thai (very oddly sweet). The chive cakes are good - crispy on the outside and packed with chives with a soy sauce to dip in. The pork jowl comes with many pieces, but the pieces are a bit lean and slightly over cooked. The crab fried rice had many pieces of onions, but served as a good vessel for the curries. Service wise - it can be hard to get someone's attention. It only recently opened so I think they're not ready to handle so much business yet. However, the food comes out really really fast after you order it! The servers are very nice. It isn't the best Thai food I have had and there is room for improvement, but it is still the best Thai food I've had in Staten Island so far so looking forward to a future visit! read more

Delicious food, nice presentation, but seriously overpriced. We visited Siam Thai for dinner during their first week operation on Staten Island in March 2023. The place has a very nice interior and indeed feels much more upscale than a usual Thai restaurant. We were really excited to try the dishes it could offer. Despite this being restaurant's first week it had quite some people in and more were coming while we were there. All the food we ordered was delicious and had a beautiful esthetic presentation. The only drawback was that everything was roughly 30-35% overpriced. You are getting Manhattan prices on Staten Island. Appetizers Larb Tartare - tasty, flavorful, with perfect texture, and high heat level (right for my taste). It was perfectly presented and nicely accompanied by some chips. I only regret I forgot to ask for optional egg yolk on top and our waitress unfortunately didn't offer it as an option. This beef tartare is very different from usual French beef tartare. It's more dry, flavorful, and of course spicier. Would definitely order again. Thai Summer Roll - this was good and tasty, nothing extraordinary though. Mains Duck Red Curry - delicious, flavorful, with generous pieces of duck, and nice sweet notes coming from lychees and pineapple. It was on mild side of heat which was exactly right for my wife. Presentation was also excellent. This dish is certainly recommended. Beef Pad Kee Mao - this was great and tasty, with high heat level as I wished. The noodles were smooth and silky. The meat was melting in the mouth. I only wished the portion would be a bit bigger. The dish is a solid go if you like high heat. The service was polite and quick but it definitely needs improvement. The waitress didn't mention the optional egg yolk for the beef tartare. She also didn't offer the rice with the curry though it's not automatically included as you would expect in an Asian restaurant. We had to order the rice after the curry came... Hopefully, these little mistakes are only due to the place being new and the stuff still learning. Just wanted to mention this for the owners to know what need to be improved. Overall, we liked the restaurant for its food, interior and atmosphere. However, we are unlikely to be back due to overpricing. The value for the money is questionable. Suggestion to owners: Include rice on the side with curries and other dishes that are supposed to come with it. Don't charge $3 for a cup of rice. $3 is nothing and the rice is cheap anyway, but making it an extra charge is not nice, it leaves the feeling the place is greedy. And same goes for $2 to add an egg yolk on $18 beef tartare. C'mon. Egg yolk costs you 30c max. Just offer it as a free option. You can afford it :) read more

Siam Thai is a beautiful, quaint, and spacious new welcomed-addition to the New Dorp area with lots of parking due to it being located in a highly trafficked plaza. The staff, hostesses, and servers were very welcoming, friendly, and efficient! The interior design is vibrant yet intimate, with its warm-toned lighting providing a romantic atmosphere. The tables and bar are spaciously apart, which provides a comfortable dining experience. The music volume was just right and allows you to comfortable converse without raising your voice. This review is strictly for its soft opening takeout experience, for I'm sure the dine-in experience will differ in quality. The drive home for us was around 10 minutes, so the travel time is taken into consideration with this review, for it definitely impacted the quality of the food. We were informed as we placed our order that the order will take approximately 15-20 minutes and our ordered arrived prompted in 20 minutes, showing that the staff knows the capacity and functioning of its kitchen staff well! Below are what we ordered for takeout: Chive cakes: 3/5 - The chive cakes didn't have a crispy texture and was very mushy, which unfortunately detracted from its enjoyment. It's likely that the 10 minute travel made the chive cakes extra moist and mushy; perhaps its container retained a lot of moisture, rendering it overly soft and not crispy at all. The sauce was pleasantly sweet and salty, which would've paired perfectly with it if it was crispier; it probably would've tasted a lot better if eaten at the restaurant. Definitely would try this again for dine-in and hopefully it'd be crispier to provide a nice enjoyable contrast between its exterior crispiness and interior softness. Pad See Ew: 2.5/5 - The Pad See Ew is definitely under-seasoned, which although the meat was good quality, rendered it quite bland; can definitely benefit from more "wok hei." The portion is also quite small for its price tag. Overall, if the price, quantity, and seasoning were adjusted to reflect the abovementioned changes, I believe it has great potential of being an amazing noodle dish! Morning Glory: 3.5/5 - As evident in the picture, this dish was quite watery, which perhaps can be due to the transport. The wateriness definitely diluted its flavor, but it still packs quite a punch in terms of its spiciness. Once again, it's probably a dish best served at the restaurant instead of takeout. Tomahawk Short Rib Massaman Curry: 5/5 - Definitely the showstopper of tonight's experience! Incredibly tender and flavorful, with a beautiful balance of nuttiness and creaminess. It's not spicy at all and tastes amazing with rice (which is not included). My only critique is that the potato could be a bit softer for its quite tough to the bite. Highly recommend it and the price is pretty reasonable for its portion and quality! Overall, I definitely recommend to dine-in instead of takeout. There's definitely some more kinks to be sorted through, but for a soft opening it's pretty great in how they handled everything, from serving time to the quality of their food. Their prices are the same as its sister location in Queens, and if their quality/quantity improves just a bit, it'll definitely be worth the price. This isn't your typical Thai restaurant, where its atmosphere and vibe definitely paints a more elegant and intimate experience. I've dined in once and ordered delivery twice from Siam Thai -- unfortunately, that's two times too many. The green curry mussels were inedible; each bite had a crunch from all the unwashed sand. The soft shell crab curry had decent curry, but the crab just tasted of fryer oil. Note I didn't expect much as this was delivery (my fault for ordering?) Pad Thai was especially disappointing -- flavorless, barely any ingredients, and not worth $25 lunch even with a drink and app. Thai Villa in the city is far superior for less. For food, we shared for two people the following. Crying Tiger Steak - 16oz ribeye cooked to perfection, so soft and juicy.
