Hands down one of the best and most reasonably priced Chinese restaurant in all of Staten Island. Their lunch menu is undeniably the best bang with your buck, with a complimentary heartwarming abalone soup! The portion and quality of their lunch menu items is top-notch, and you will for sure be full and satisfied! For their lunch special, get their salt and pepper pork chop, for it was perfectly crispy and extremely tender; by far one of the best I ever had. For dinner, I cannot recommend their beef short ribs enough, as well as their lobster stir fried vermicelli; the beef short ribs were so tender and juicy, meanwhile their lobster stir fried vermicelli had such strong wok aroma, or as we call it in Cantonese, wok hay. So happy there's authentic Cantonese food in Staten Island now! They have an awesome lunch special available seven days a week, which comes with soup (they gave us corn egg soup, very delicious!) Highlights from my meal: 1. Hot and sour soup - delicious! Will definitely get again. 2. Pork and preserved egg congee - so good! You know it's authentic when they bring the white pepper condiment. Will get again. 3. Yang Chow fried rice - okay 4. Eggplant casserole - delicious! Will get again. 5. Honey walnut shrimp - amazing, a must order! Will get again. 6. This is a grand opening. Came here to try it out. The design is more traditional style and looks beautiful. The service was okay. The food tastes a little salty and sweet. People with heavy taste would like this. The chicken is good but the skin is little salty and hard. Chow mien is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Grand opening. As for now Ambiance: traditional cantonese style design, not too crowded but also not very spacious. Service: brand new place so staff is still trying to figure things out. Food: they dont have the basic 艇仔粥, or the 油條. So kinda disappointed. Gonna have to do a sit down dinner one day. But I ordered the beef congee, a golden double egg fried rice and beef chow-fun noodle. Beef congee, its aiight. The congee isnt fluffed enough so its mediocre at best. Beef Chow-fun, not too greasy pretty good. Definitely had better but this isnt too bad. Golden double egg fried rice, exactly how i expected it to taste. I would say all three dishes had enough stuff in it, they didnt cheap out on ingredients. So will definitely return and try other things. Maybe try the family style. read more

This restaurant is the worst when it's busy. They don't respect who is waiting before who. I was waiting for a table and they decided to just start sitting other people that just came in because they have more people. That is a very disrespectful way of doing business. I stopped by with my family to get some porridge and noodles. This restaurant is located on the side with a small lot for cars. We came by around 12pm on a Monday and there were a few tables dining in. The menu was pretty simple. They had a little bit of everything it seemed, but nothing that made me go, I need to eat this. They had 7 types of congee to choose from. The options seemed pretty plain, but we opted for the G2 Pork & Preserved Egg Congee ($6.95), G4 Pig liver & Pork Congee ($6.95), F6 Roasted Pork Rice Roll ($3.75), 2 orders of H4 Fried Dough Sticks ($2/each), and K8 Beef Chow Fun- Gravy ($16.95). The congee was okay. It was kind of watery compared to what I am used to. The Pork & Preserved Egg was more flavorful than the Pig liver and Pork. I usually like Pig Liver more than the pork and preserved eggs but this one had very little pig liver in it. Because it was limited in the pig liver, it made the porridge more bland. The preserved egg really added flavor in the other congee. Considering the price standpoint, the bowl was very big. However, I rather pay more to get a better quality in congee. As for the roasted pork rice rolls, I was a bit disappointed in it. The rice roll was SUPER thick. They did not have a lot of roasted pork it in. When eating rice rolls, you want a thinner roll so it feels almost slippery to pick up, but not so thin that it falls apart. The rice roll had a lot of chewing to it which it really should not have. FYI, the soy sauce for the rice rolls are located on the table for you to put on yourself. The Fried Dough sticks were also a bit of a disappointment. It was cold, not crispy, and super oily. I almost wished they double fried it so there was something more to it than just an oily dough stick. The real winner here was the Beef Chow Fun Gravy style. This dish was tasty, had good flavor, wasn't salty and was actually cooked well. The noodles felt pretty fresh and did not stick together. The beef was soft, not chewy and there was a good amount of it as well. I was told from my family that they only opened a few months ago so maybe they are still adjusting. Hopefully, as they improve on their flavors/cooking style more people will give them a try because this type of cuisine is definitely a want and a need on the island. read more

Have wanted to try this fily new cantonese restaurant since it opened and finally did today. Was struck by the fact that most tables were large and occupied by large family groups and that there were no guests other than my son and I who were not Chinese. Took that as a good sign. We were promptly seated, provided menus and hot tea and soon placed an order for the House Special Chicken, cucumber sa;ad and my all time favorite yook beng, steamed minced pork with salted fish. The chicken was 1/2 of a plump bird that had apparently been steamed to a perfect point, chilled and then cut into multiple slices. With it came the salad we ordered which was perfectly dressed with just a hint of heat. Both were superb.The waiter had told us there would be a 20-minute wait for h steamed pork and about 20-minutes of starting to eat we saw a platter of steamed pork delivered to another table. Visually it appered to be just as it should. then ours came and we dug in. I have had this dish in literally hundreds of restaurants and this one came closest to my 79-year memory of the first time I ever had it and was simply the best I have had in at least 30-yeqrs. I have a new favorite Cantonese restra nt for all of NYC and will be going back regularly. And the place is attractively designed with a staff that was friendly and proficient.. It's always nice to see more restaurants opening up on the Island. You get the authentic feel and smell of a Chinese restaurant, unlike the take-out places that we are so used to. They have hanging meats ready to be chopped per your specifications. The pricing of the items on the menu was fair, and the service was as expected from an authentic Chinese restaurant, quick and straight to the point. We ordered two different rice-rolls ( shrimp and pork); the rice-rolls were made fresh along with the fried dough-stick that we paired with the preserved egg and pork congee.
