Service was a little poor considering the chaos and unorganized host stand. The people are trying their best. But there's no indication of a wait, you just stand around the front desk until you make eye contact with someone and you tell them how many in your party. Um, i liked the chicken feet its star anise and good flavored, the custard bun was cute. And the spare ribs were yummy. Also the egg tarts were cute and flakey.

Food was excellent. Service was awesome. We will come back soon. Ambience was ok. When we came, the place was empty. Folks already came, that was around 4pm. So its best to come around that time.

We stopped by here because we were in the area and were looking to get some dinner . The place was packed and looked interesting so we decided to give it a try ! I have never had dim sum before and this was an experience . They have servers with carts coming around with already made food and you pick which you like . The lady at the cart kept suggesting certain things and we got lots of different types of food . She was very excited and friendly and I kept trying so much from the carts I actually completely ignored the menu! So there are carts that go around and menus I think the carts are appetizers I just ate so much that I got very full ! It was a great experience our table had a huge rotating plate and we all shared with one another ! They also serve really good jasmine tea , the place was authentic and a very popular spot and I can see why . The spot itself is casual and cozy it's all about the food though ! Their dumplings are fresh and I loved the desert especially the mango pudding ( which is shaped like a salmon and jiggles ) a must try if you're in the area !

03.26.2023@12:18pm table for 5. Walk-in waited less then 5mins. This is one of the best place to yum-cha in Staten Island.

Precious Island Dim Sum is a great place. I have been a customer for years and was happy there was finally a dim sum place close to my home in Staten Island. The dim sum here is truly comparable to the ones in 8th ave Brooklyn and Chinatown Manhattan. The price is fair, service is great/friendly/quick, food is fresh, tasty and has all of my favorites (wu gok, zhaliang, char siu so)! Definitely the go-to spot on the island for some REAL Cantonese Chinese food! I also love the cute dim sum desserts too like the mango fish and piggy buns.

Always been a fan of this restaurant, especially for quality Chinese food on the island (which is extremely hard to come by). My family and I have dined here a handful of times. We had dim sum as well and it was on par compared to other places we have been to. This place serves authentic Chinese dishes and the portions are pretty generous. Dishes are always flavorful and cooked well. Service is good, typical. Nothing extraordinary but gets the job done. My only critique would be I wish their bathrooms were heated because they get pretty cold! In all, this place is definitely a go-to if I'm craving Chinese food and I would recommend to others.

The staff there is friendly and quiet. The overall dim sum brunch food is 4 out of 5. The only thing I was disappointed the spare ribs with taro in black bean sauce. There was no taro inside the dish.

The dim sum rivals that of the finest Manhattan Chinese dim sum restaurants. No need to travel to the city

Ask the Community - Precious Island Dim Sum

Is dim sum available at dinner time?

We also serve dim sum at dinner time, but some of them are not available after 4:00pm .

Is outdoor dining still available?

When we went there in August 2021 the outdoor seating was closed but they did seem to keep the customers seated at indoor tables reasonably far apart from others.

Are they closed due to COVID right now?

take out only right now! search our Precious Island dim sum @ Facebook , new menu upload already , thx

Do they do takeout for dim sum items?

yes, they do

So happy we're not far from here cause I'll definitely stop in. Gives me the Chinatown feel without being in the city. They also serve roast duck which I'm a fan of and can't wait to try. Baked goods are delish. Pork buns are cold, but just throw them in the microwave when you get home, and they are sooo good. Staff is friendly and wanting to help. I'll be back for a dine in.

You enter and tables are right inside. This is probably one of the first most authentic Cantonese places I come across on the island. It is unique in a sense that it tries to accomplish so much and accommodate many populations at the same time. I can't tell you if I should call it a restaurant or cafe. For instance, right when you walk into the restaurant/cafe, you get a sense that if you want to sit down to eat and dine, you can expect services. Though, this is not typically how you'd feel if you were to walk into a Cantonese bakery. In a regular Cantonese cafe, you are not expecting services. Rather, you can buy a cup or milk tea or a Bao, and you can chill and gossip with your friends. To sum up, just know that you will get service if you are getting a meal here. The waitresses are incredibly nice and warm. In the left side of the room or straight ahead from the entrances, there are counters specifically for takeouts . I ordered 1lb roasted pork, Cheung fun, a honey tea, and a Bao. They are pricier than Manhattan and Brooklyn, however, all are incredibly delicious and authentic. I recommend it.

I was asking about reservation, they said it's not needed-the Jade Island is huge! But we called for a reservation... I was very skeptical from the start about Chinese cuisine-not my taste, but my friends repeated about old school, classic Chinese Food! At the start-yes, the place is huge! With different shape tables -from 2 to bigger for 10 and more... Surprisingly, there were still a lot of diners at that late time... I forgot Chinese food totally and opted for a safe option- Fried rice with shrimps- very tasty, not salty..huge portion-took home half of it. We ordered Tofu with veggies-crispy veggies, Bock Choi not over- or under cooked-perfect - and tofu-delicious and family size prefix for 2 -with soups/spring rolls and main-chicken... Size for 2 would definitely feed 3-5 people! Great service, very attentive; -spacious seats, nice ambience - and great prices! Would definitely go again, if my friends decide to eat there. Thank you, Jade Island staff!

This place is so nostalgic just for the decor alone, it makes me long for the good old days! This is as American as Chinese food can get, so if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, you need to go elsewhere. This place has big portions, great service, and caters to a more American dining experience with big tables for parties or even reunions. Non-negotiable items I have to get every time I'm here: - egg rolls - big and crispy - wonton egg drop mixed - the pieces of pork are HUGE - orange chicken - perfect white chicken meat every time! - chicken and broccoli - tried and true We usually come around 5PM on a Saturday to beat the rush and it works out perfectly that we don't need to make any reservations.
