I recommend this Food we have been ordering for 5 years we always order take out and I love the food

S Quart of Homemade Sweet Tea
    Bre Z.

My fiancé ordered from here through Uber eats. This is regarding their sweet "home made" ice tea. I'm traumatized from a previous spoiled home made ice tea experience years ago in which I realized they make large quantities and store them for an unlimited period of time. Because of this I jokingly told my fiancé I would wait for him to try this one as I vowed I would never drink anything not canned with an expiration date from any Chinese restaurant again. Long and behold as he prepares to drink this, we notice a thick substance swirling around. Upon closer inspection, what is it? MOLD. I'm reporting them to the department of health. We are too far advanced for nasty &unsanitary food practices to ensue.

If you look too fast you'll miss this delicious Chinese food take out spot. Tucked off of Victory Blvd on Bradley Avenue you would definitely miss it. The parking lot is the pits, I won't lie. I would rather park a block away and walk there than deal with the lot. The food is great, cheap and staff is super friendly. They carry some items I usually don't see at my other regular Chinese take out. Was happy to try this little gem. Don't let the parking deter you, the prices are fantastic and that's the bonus.

Steamed shrimp dumplings. Not good. Raw flavorless dough.

I give them credit for a quick delivery with all the correct items I ordered. However, the steamed shrimp dumplings were just raw dough that tasted bad overall. I didn't even eat them. The wonton soup was fine. The chicken in the chicken and broccoli is what you find in all other Chinese fast food establishments. It's a chicken that is processed with some sort of fillers and is gummy. The hot and sour soup was underwhelming. Disappointed.

(I say hot because I burnt my mouth taking my first bite haha...) I ordered the Beef Lo Mein, which was good but different from other lo meins I usually order because it had a more soupy sauce! That's when we found Lion Dance in Staten Island. Honestly, I didn't expect much because this place is on Staten Island. I've lived here my whole life, and to be real, not a lot of food spots here are that good. I usually go to other parts of NYC to eat. But BOY, WAS I WRONG. I got the pork soup dumplings, lotus leaf steamed rice with beef and broccoli, shrimp siu mai, and a mango green tea with medium sugar and mango jelly. Everything was so good! The biggest surprise was the lotus leaf steamed rice, it had so much flavor and went perfectly with the beef. The portion was big too. The soup dumplings were juicy, the siu mai were fresh, and the mango green tea was super refreshing. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean and nicely decorated. Overall, I loved the food, the vibe, and the service. Definitely coming back and if you're from Staten Island, trust me, this spot is worth checking out!

You enter and tables are right inside. This is probably one of the first most authentic Cantonese places I come across on the island. It is unique in a sense that it tries to accomplish so much and accommodate many populations at the same time. I can't tell you if I should call it a restaurant or cafe. For instance, right when you walk into the restaurant/cafe, you get a sense that if you want to sit down to eat and dine, you can expect services. Though, this is not typically how you'd feel if you were to walk into a Cantonese bakery. In a regular Cantonese cafe, you are not expecting services. Rather, you can buy a cup or milk tea or a Bao, and you can chill and gossip with your friends. To sum up, just know that you will get service if you are getting a meal here. The waitresses are incredibly nice and warm. In the left side of the room or straight ahead from the entrances, there are counters specifically for takeouts . I ordered 1lb roasted pork, Cheung fun, a honey tea, and a Bao. They are pricier than Manhattan and Brooklyn, however, all are incredibly delicious and authentic. I recommend it.

I was asking about reservation, they said it's not needed-the Jade Island is huge! But we called for a reservation... I was very skeptical from the start about Chinese cuisine-not my taste, but my friends repeated about old school, classic Chinese Food! At the start-yes, the place is huge! With different shape tables -from 2 to bigger for 10 and more... Surprisingly, there were still a lot of diners at that late time... I forgot Chinese food totally and opted for a safe option- Fried rice with shrimps- very tasty, not salty..huge portion-took home half of it. We ordered Tofu with veggies-crispy veggies, Bock Choi not over- or under cooked-perfect - and tofu-delicious and family size prefix for 2 -with soups/spring rolls and main-chicken... Size for 2 would definitely feed 3-5 people! Great service, very attentive; -spacious seats, nice ambience - and great prices! Would definitely go again, if my friends decide to eat there. Thank you, Jade Island staff!

This place is so nostalgic just for the decor alone, it makes me long for the good old days! This is as American as Chinese food can get, so if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, you need to go elsewhere. This place has big portions, great service, and caters to a more American dining experience with big tables for parties or even reunions. Non-negotiable items I have to get every time I'm here: - egg rolls - big and crispy - wonton egg drop mixed - the pieces of pork are HUGE - orange chicken - perfect white chicken meat every time! - chicken and broccoli - tried and true We usually come around 5PM on a Saturday to beat the rush and it works out perfectly that we don't need to make any reservations.
