My boyfriend and I came here for dinner one night and also dim sum on a Saturday morning! The staff was so excited to see us and enthusiastically sat us down, which was really nice. I was surprised to find that they offered authentic cantonese food, which is difficult to have in the area. For dinner we ordered the scallion pancakes, beef chow fun, and sesame chicken. As a big fan of scallion pancakes, they lived up to my expectations and had enough scallion flavor, but could be crispier. The portion of the beef chow fun was extremely large and I ended up having leftovers for several days. I really enjoyed the beef chow fun and it tasted very authentic, although it was a bit oily for my liking. My only complaint was that the food took over half an hour to come out, which was a bit irritating as there seemed to be very few other guests dining at the time. The dim sum was also very enjoyable and they had a very wide selection. I would recommend going with someone who knows how to speak and understand Chinese though, as some of the staff only speak Chinese. The restaurant was surprisingly packed and popular around Sunday morning, which goes to show that it's pretty well known for dimsum. Overall, I will definitely be back to East Pacific if i'm looking for authentic canto food on the island!

8.25.24 @6:44pm Sunday Walk-in for a table of 4. Everyone is friendly. Just an ordinary Cantonese food. Taste is not as good as others but have a lot of options. A place to go if don't want to drive out of town.

Food - Chinese food with regular staples like Peking duck, General Tsao chicken, pork chop (yummy), noodles, fried rice, and a whole slew more Service - it was good but just attentive enough in my opinion. They may fly by sometimes but be ready to flag them down if you need something. Ambiance - pretty big place that has a lot of seating so you could definitely bring you family to order family style dishes. The restaurant is part of the mall so there are two entrances by each other. One inside the mall while the other is accessible outside. Verdict - I was either really hungry or this place was pretty good. I am thinking it's the latter so I'd recommend this place if you are in the area or while in Staten Island

    Shrimp Tempura Roll - Yummy!

I forget about this place. I don't go to the SI Mall often. The service is good. The sushi is really good here. I need to eat in some time, I usually do take out. I love that they still add fish roe to some of their rolls. So many restaurants don't anymore. I really enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura Roll I ordered and it had the fish roe. Very tasty and filling too. I could barely eat it all. I'll have to stop there again soon.

So exciting we didn't have to go to Bklyn or Manhattan for Cantonese food. We finally have authentic rice plates (roast pork, bbq pork, soy chicken etc). For my roast pork dish (pic not avail) I needed a tiny bit more rice and a little less sauce but overall crispy skin and yummy! Also tried their dim sum pretty good! Place has gotten pretty busy. Service is okay same as other dim sum places. And fyi hh is at bar only (not at table, I learned the hard way).

Plain Rice Roll - pretty plain, add some peanut butter sauce and sweet sauce, then that will be good

Foods are pretty good! My suggestion would be BBQ Roast Pork / Roast Duck / Soy Sauce Chicken / Steamed BBQ Pork Bun

You enter and tables are right inside. This is probably one of the first most authentic Cantonese places I come across on the island. It is unique in a sense that it tries to accomplish so much and accommodate many populations at the same time. I can't tell you if I should call it a restaurant or cafe. For instance, right when you walk into the restaurant/cafe, you get a sense that if you want to sit down to eat and dine, you can expect services. Though, this is not typically how you'd feel if you were to walk into a Cantonese bakery. In a regular Cantonese cafe, you are not expecting services. Rather, you can buy a cup or milk tea or a Bao, and you can chill and gossip with your friends. To sum up, just know that you will get service if you are getting a meal here. The waitresses are incredibly nice and warm. In the left side of the room or straight ahead from the entrances, there are counters specifically for takeouts . I ordered 1lb roasted pork, Cheung fun, a honey tea, and a Bao. They are pricier than Manhattan and Brooklyn, however, all are incredibly delicious and authentic. I recommend it.

I was asking about reservation, they said it's not needed-the Jade Island is huge! But we called for a reservation... I was very skeptical from the start about Chinese cuisine-not my taste, but my friends repeated about old school, classic Chinese Food! At the start-yes, the place is huge! With different shape tables -from 2 to bigger for 10 and more... Surprisingly, there were still a lot of diners at that late time... I forgot Chinese food totally and opted for a safe option- Fried rice with shrimps- very tasty, not salty..huge portion-took home half of it. We ordered Tofu with veggies-crispy veggies, Bock Choi not over- or under cooked-perfect - and tofu-delicious and family size prefix for 2 -with soups/spring rolls and main-chicken... Size for 2 would definitely feed 3-5 people! Great service, very attentive; -spacious seats, nice ambience - and great prices! Would definitely go again, if my friends decide to eat there. This place is so nostalgic just for the decor alone, it makes me long for the good old days! This is as American as Chinese food can get, so if you're looking for authentic Chinese food, you need to go elsewhere. This place has big portions, great service, and caters to a more American dining experience with big tables for parties or even reunions. Non-negotiable items I have to get every time I'm here: - egg rolls - big and crispy - wonton egg drop mixed - the pieces of pork are HUGE - orange chicken - perfect white chicken meat every time! - chicken and broccoli - tried and true We usually come around 5PM on a Saturday to beat the rush and it works out perfectly that we don't need to make any reservations.
