I usually keep my sushi orders simple and get basic rolls. The rice was perfect, fish tasted fresh, and the rolls were generously sized. They are quick to serve and the food is good; they have nice combos, today I got chicken teriyaki bento box, it comes with rice, California roll and veggie ( pic attached) , included in the price miso soup and salad. This was my first time dining in at Avocado Sushi. The restaurant is very simple yet pretty. The way the booths are set up you really feel like you have privacy at your table. I can't say if it would be the same if you are sitting at the normal tables. As always the food was delicious. All of the sushi tasted fresh and the hibachi looked just as good! Our waitress sometimes forgot to bring certain things to our table, but she always made sure to correct any issues we had right away. I've been eating at multiple locations of Avocado Sushi on Staten Island for awhile now. They just opened their fifth location on Richmond Ave. I decided to stop in, since seeing this Grand Opening sign - 15% off your order. Here's how it went. I'm a regular sushi fan and my bill at their other location is easily over $35 each time. I knew I was going to order around the same amount, regardless of the discount. Once I heard the total amount, I knew there was no discount applied. I was going to let that go, but when I asked for spicy mayo on the side, the employee asked me for an additional $2 after paying. I just spent $38 on sushi and you can't give me one tiny container of spicy mayo. I can't stand when places charge for this. They think it's caviar for condiments. I wasn't asking for extra spicy mayo, but somehow they always give me extra soy sauce at no charge. This makes no sense to me. Now that I'm being asked to pay for spicy mayo, I asked her about the sign out front with the 15% off. She says, "oh, you need to bring in coupon". That sign is so misleading, so don't expect a discount for their grand opening. The interior decor is really nice. The sushi is the same as their other locations. It's pretty good and the food is packed well. No dine in option yet. Another thing that really turned me off, one of their employees came out front for a smoke break, wearing his gloves and apron on. They're just trying to grow and open as many locations, and I don't fault them for growing but understand you're trying to build a relationship with your neighborhood. If the food wasn't good this would easily drop to two stars. The food is great and some of the people there is great. I'm giving 3 stars because some of the workers attitudes is just ridiculous. One time I called, I had to change something in my order not even TWO minutes after I placed it and the lady told me next time she wouldn't fix my order. Like what? I'm the paying customer, you can't force me to get something I forgot to add changes too ESPECIALLY when there's 3 other locations??? We're not obligated to stay here. However, that isn't my problem as I got over it. Literally just now I ordered food, and idk if the driver was mad I didn't tip (because this is only my second time ordering here and the first time I had an issue with them so why am I tipping?) but the man just threw my receipt on the ground when I told him I didn't need it. Like it isn't a big issue, it's just the disrespect and then he proceeded to walk off with an attitude. Like please do not liter on my property as y'all would hate if I came to your store and littered everywhere. That was so rude and with behavior like that, I would NEVER tip. Placed an order on Uber eats for my order to be delivered from 5:10-5:30pm today, 7/4. I kept monitoring my order on Uber, but did not see any updates. I contacted Uber around 5:25pm to see if they can help me in any way. Around 5:40-5:45pm, I get a call that my order is at my door. After opening my door, an employee from the restaurant delivered my order and aggressively requested cash tip. I explained that I would tip on Uber eats from my credit card, but she demanded the tip to be in cash. All I had in my wallet was a $10 bill, so I had no choice to give 40% cash tip.. I expected an Uber driver to deliver my order, who would always leave it at my door, but the store employee that delivered my Uber order today was just unprofessional and belligerent with the tip. The female restaurant employee was just rude, drove a white Toyota Camry with another male employee making deliveries. This place is usually my go-to place when craving sushi, but I definitely won't be ordering my sushi from here ever again due to this incident. (Just go next door to Hawaian Poke Bowl if you're craving rice and raw fish). read more

We called in Thusday night to place an order for pickup. Their appetizers are at a decent price and and is good except for the crispy calamari. At first I was confused as to why the shrimp tempura rolls were way more expensive than the eel avocado rolls. But once we picked up the food, it was understandable because they used two shrimp tempuras per roll unlike other restaurants. The salmon is fresh and we tried to order Uni but they didn't have it. After reading the first review of this restaurant and seeing that they weren't able to get a 15% discount as shown in the storefront...I asked the lady on the phone if they had a 15% discount and she said yes. We were able to get $12 off our order. I am not too sure why the other person did not receive a discount but there are also coupons on the menu that can be used. read more

Are you to order from here all the time because the Bento boxes were really great deal but within inflation they really aren't and you're not getting as much food as you used to. There's sushi rolls are large so if you are super hungry, you'll get full off the regular rolls, but they're larger because the quality of fish And the crunchies that they used to fill it. What makes it big is what makes it larger. The service here is very slow. I've ordered on DoorDash for pick up and even called and I normally don't order too many things probably two rolls and they always take very long to make it, they also don't DoorDash that your food is ready or if they do update it immediately and you don't know when it'll be ready. Probably every single time that I've been there I go inside and still have to wait 30 minutes to get two rolls. It's quick and convenient cause it's by my house but if I want good sushi, I'd rather go out of my way somewhere else. read more

Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. I got the sushi dinner which was fresh and good quality. My 8 ur old son ordered the pork broth Ramen with chicken and vegetables. He ate every last drop and drank up the extra broth we ordered the next day for his lunch. Definitely ordering from here again soon. read more
