I was filling up my car right across the street, when I spotted this place. So I figured I'd come in for dinner. Overall, a good place. It's a small place, with just a few tables. Apparently they do lots of takeout and delivery. The menu was very large, with lots of sushi and sashimi selections. However, I decided to go with the curry chicken. It came with a bowl of miso soup, and my choice of white or brown rice. I had the white. Overall, it was a good meal. I love miso soup, and this was no exception. It was a large portion, it was creamy, and It was hot, it was not overly salty, and it was rich. A total Home run. I had asked if the curry chicken was spicy, and she said no. It wasn't. it had just a tiny bit of a spice, just enough that I noticed it. The rice was tender, and the veggies were fresh. The only thing that I wasn't expecting, was the chicken was breaded and deep fried, like you might see in either an orange or a lemon chicken. I wasn't expecting that, because when I normally order curry chicken, the chicken is stir fried, , and not breaded. It was a very, very good meal and I had enough to have some to take home, it just wasn't what I expected. Next time I come in, I'm definitely going to go for the sushi, as it looked good. The crispy calamari was good and it came with a sweet chili sauce and some salad.There was a good amount of crunch on the outside. It was cut to a good size, but it could have been slightly larger. The portion size was fair, but I expected slightly more for 9 dollars. Overall I'd give the calamari a 9/10. The miso soup was standard and the salad was good. I liked the dressing on it. The sushi rolls were good. I know I am a bit basic with my selections, but I enjoyed the Volcano Roll. It had a good crunch from the shrimp tempura and the lobster thing on the top was a good type of soft. The shrimp tempura inside was still warm so it was made fresh. The salmon avocado was fresh and the jalapeño I added to it made it have a pinch of spice, which I found enjoyable. The ice tea was meh. I thought I had an old menu so I asked for a new one when I picked up my lunch n noticed that the prices were the same on the one I just threw away. This is my fourth time ordering pad Thai; 3 from this location and the other one in Forest Ave. and all 3 times it was different tasting and inconsistent. The other one I ordered by mistake because they are both almost the same distance from me. As you can see in the photo the pad Thai has no sauce, seasoning and is watery on the bottom. The other location they put sauce on the side of the inside of container and I mixed it and was delicious. This is the most bland pad Thai I've ever had. My favorite is on Los Angeles still. Anyway, I don't understand how a chain has different recipes or it could be the chef, I don't know. All I know is that they rushed this and there was no love in it. It took awhile trying to find this restuarant because there's a lot of constructioning that's blocking the entrance to the parking lot. My husband and we're running errands and happen to see this place around the corner. Normally we order sushi from Avocado Sushi to be delivered but this was our first time at this location. Place was empty, there is construction on the street side and it can be hard to miss if you're using GPS. Place is clean and bright. Food was great and wait time was not long at all. I liked their gyoza; salad tasted fresh and the ginger dressing was delicious, but again servings are definitely on the smaller size. Now, I have a healthy appetite but typically when I order food, a single entree is enough to last me 2-3 meals so I think it says something that I was able to finish an appetizer, salad, and entree with no issues. Ordered delivery and between the food and taxes/fees/tip, the whole thing ran me about $30. Only small issue is that for the Philadelphia roll- the cucumber could have been a bit more peeled. The food is consistently delicious and well priced for the average sushi lover. I would also like to add that they have been open for delivery throughout the pandemic and have lowered their delivery minimum. Avocado Sushi just recently opened up their Hylan Blvd location, and their sushi is delicious! Not only do they offer delicious and fresh rolls, but they have a wide range of menu options including poke bowls, bento boxes, hibachi, noodles, and many great lunch specials. I ordered the avocado ball appetizer which normally comes with 3, but I opted for a single ball. Inside the avocado shell is spicy kani salad, and the ball is topped generously with the chef's sauce. Highly recommend. For sushi lunch specials they offer a 2 roll lunch ($7.95), 3 roll lunch (9.95), or the signature lunch ($13). The signature lunch is one special roll and one classic roll. All specials some with a side ginger salad and miso soup. The miso soup pleasantly surprised me, and was much better than the miso you would get from other sushi places in the area. Additionally they offer sashimi, chirashi, and sushi/sashimi specials, and specials including teriyaki, hibachi, curry, katsu, or another kitchen entree. Lunch specials are Monday to Saturday until about 3pm. Highly recommend the sweetheart roll, especially if you are a tuna lover. It even comes shaped as cute hearts. Great presentation, fresh, and delicious! Even the classic roll was fresh, and much better than other local sushi restaurants currently in the area. Other great special rolls include the Incredible roll (lobster tempura with asparagus and mango), and the hot girl roll (spicy kani and shrimp tempura)! We have ordered from here probably 8 times in the past year and today decided to go to the physical restaurant for dinner. It was quite, decor was nice. We ordered soup, 2 appetizers and 4 rolls. My husband notices that under our edamame plate a bug crawled across the table. Then I notice a fruit fly in the edamame and another in the lettuce wrap. We called over the waitress she just looked at us and said "do you want to finish your meal?" We said no and took the check. I have an FSE license as well as a food handlers license from DOH and am not sure how they got their A rating. My husband and I are both dying right now after the meal. They gave us a 10% discount. We paid and left. Didn't even ask for the manager. Never again would I order from here or eat here nor do I recommend anyone else to go here either. read more

They are always incredibly rude. I ordered take out and had 2 hairs in my rice. When I called to tell them they told me I need to text them proof and they can take a look at the pictures and determine if it's hair in my food. It would be up to them.
