Order from here all the times, not one time have I had a bad experience. Delivery service is fast and food doesn't last over 40 minutes. The food is at a good price compare to other places in the plaza, you can't go wrong red ginger! read more

Local Chinese takeout, that is always delivered hot and quick! Always dependable and reliable. Tonight we ordered some pad Thai, as well as some combo meals. This place is located in Coral Island shopping center on Richmond Ave. the place is small but you can dine in if you would like. Only a few tables are inside. Prices are very reasonable and the menu is fairly large. Highly recommend. read more

I wanted something for lunch and I happen to have been in the coral Island shopping center and I stopped by red Ginger, and instead of taking my order to go I decided to dine inside. I placed my order for some wonton soup and a side order of steamed chicken and string beans with sauce on the side. Service was excellent. The place was very clean. Tables were very clean. The atmosphere was quiet , atmosphere it was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. And the food was delicious. I can't complain a bit. I like their wonton soup versus some of their other competitors because they are wrapped like a little round pocket and the meat is not grizzly or fatty and this is my reasons why I like their wonton soup. And the broth was very flavorful. read more

Sorry to do this but I think this is a case where the wrong things were ordered. Though, I don't know how you can mess up plain fried rice and pre made dumplings. Simply awful lunch. I did also get a shrimp with broccoli special, which was good, no problem there. I'll stick with only this, if I ever order from there again. This was the second time I ordered take out from them. The first time was good, which is why I ordered again, but the inconsistency is now apparent. read more

first time ordering and i really regret it because i wasted my $70 for nothing. i ordered the steamed shrimp and broccoli with rice and i don't know if they don't know how to make it or not. food was delivered to me plain. no sauce mixed on it, nothing just fresh steamed shrimp and broccoli and it was cold not even warm. meanwhile they picture they posted on their site is different. the peppered steak was also wack. it is bad. read more

Pineapple fried rice was tasteless and the egg fried rice was off. Hot and sour soup. Okay. I wouldn't order here again.

Yesterday I ordered a lunch special combo. Beef with black bean sauce. This is usually excellent. Not yesterday. Probably ran out of the ingredients to make this dish and substituted the black bean sauce with a spicy barbecue sauce. Didn't even try to hide a black bean to cover up the wrong sauce. Not only was this inedible but the pork fried rice looked like it was made last week. Delivery guy sweating bullets as it was extremely hot yesterday wouldn't leave until a desired tip in his mind was handed over. Food was inedible and my stomach is paying the price for whatever little I consumed. I will never order from this place again. Disgusting and trickery for this entire transaction. read more

This is the best Chinese food on Staten Island. Sesame or Honey chicken have chunks of white meat. The diet chicken is the best, the house special Lo mien was great. Basil beef was delicious. Moo shoo beef is great. We order at least once a week . read more

I ordered a lunch special of chicken with broccoli with white sauce. What I received was 90% white rice, broccoli and a few pieces of chicken. I won't be ordering from this place again. read more

Subpar Chinese food. I've been searching for really good flavor full fried rice. This place definitely disappointed me. The rice was bland and had almost none of the standard veggies like onions or bean sprouts. I'm still on the quest! read more

We ordered from Red Ginger a few days ago through DoorDash and requested "very spicy ". Our instructions were ignored completely. The dishes we ordered "mild" had no flavor. Also we found plastic in one of the dishes! Really subpar, albeit in the grand scheme of Staten Island's Chinese food it's about average. We're not a competitor, just Staten Islanders looking for some actually decent Chinese food. read more

The negative reviews are false, probably from competitors. I eat from here all the time. Always fresh and quick. Always tasty and too large portions. Dont know who to believe? Try them once and see for yourself. read more

Living in Travis does not give us a lot of options for home delivery. Thank goodness for Red Ginger! This is our go to Chinese food spot. They definitely do not cook with MSG (because if they did, I would feel ill immediately). My husband and I get something from here a couple of times a month, and we are always happy. Delivery man is always kind, on time, and food is always nice and fresh. I often get the noodle soup, and we often order off the Thai part of the menu. The Thai combination platters are delicious. The food always tastes fresh, and it's just good takeout/delivery. When you're in a slump, and need some Chinese food to perk you up, Red Ginger will hit the spot. Check it out! read more

Have ordered from here frequently and enjoyed their food. After the disgusting food delivered to me tonight, I will never eat their food again. Ordered 2 orders of honey walnut shrimp. Sauce was in a separate container and cold. Shrimp was dried out and rock hard. Like they deep fried it hours before and then refried it for our order. Inedible. I called and spoke to owner who sent driver to pick up remainder and reimbursed the 2 dishes ($30). read more

Red Ginger - Chinse food is really good here - Chinese Near Me - Staten Island, New York

I was in the mood for Chinese this evening so I went on grub hub to see what was around. I never heard of this place nor have I seen it in person but decided to give it a shot. I have to say I was impressed. Really enjoyed my dinner. I got the general tso chicken with pork fried rice. I don't like it smothered in sauce so I asked for "less sauce" and it came perfect. I will definitely order here again next time I want Chinese and will update my review accordingly. read more

Red Ginger - General Tsos chicken and pork fried rice. Excellent - Chinese Near Me - Staten Island, New York

The price is right, the food is awesome. A college friend of mine recommended me this place as a "togo place" for Chinese food and i gave it a try. Among the array of dishes they have, the Mango Shrimp is my favorite. Its sweet and if you like spicy, make it extra spicy as its not spicy at all but gives it a kick. I order extra hot sauces to spice things up further. Usually i order when i am in campus, but when i came in today for food, it was empty and well cleaned. Not a typical Chinese take out restaurant where everything like furnishings look old. This place actually looks quite nice. The restroom is pretty well as well. read more

Ordered a quart of thai cashew shrimp. Husband said it looked suspiciously like a little over a pint. Actually measured and found we paid for a quart and got 20 ounces, way short of 32 oz.. Had to ask for fortune cookies too. This was a wonderful place that has gone downhill. Maximizing profits while minimizing food cost. read more

Excellent food! Inside is clean and fast delivery very friendly staff! Haven't had a bad mean yet

This is our favorite Chinese-Thai take-out restaurant on Staten Island. There are some tables but most business is take-out. My wife thinks that their Shrimp Pad Thai is outstanding. She absolutely adores their Chicken with Eggplant. The Thai Tom Yom Soup is spicy delicious. On a recent visit we added Fried Chicken Wings which were meaty, crisp skin and moist meat. We have found the ingredients in all the dishes to be be very fresh. The portions are quite large. The food preparation is excellent. The food in this "take-out" is better than the fare in most Chinese SI restaurants. We are of Chinese descent and we are price sensitive, and we think Red Ginger is a restaurant gem on Staten Island! read more

Poor service and the guy there (I'm guessing the cook) was very rude. Not to mention they don't speak any English there! And they messed up in our order, we wanted the food spicy and it wasn't spicy at all!! read more

I love this place. They're food is really good but on the pricey side. I love that they have dumplings and honestly I love there chicken dumplings more then there pork ones. I've had the boneless spareribs and they are really good but I feel like I'd get the regular not lunch special. I still like they're food and they're dumplings are really good in the winterish and fallish weather. I'd still recommend them though. It's best I think to eat instead of outside. read more

Ordered lunch off grubhub- egg roll, scallion pancakes, fried rice and general tsaos. Plenty of food for the lunch special. The scallion pancakes were greasy, but had a crunch. The dipping sauce was great. Egg roll was a bit flakey and not greasy, which I enjoyed. Rice was a bit bland, and general tsaos was too saucy without any spice and the chicken was not crunchy. Overall, decent but nothing special. read more

We only ordered delivery from them a few times. So I cannot comment on the atmosphere at the actual physical location. Food wise - the place is really good. Food is tasty and prepared as we request it. It is also very consistent, which we enjoy. The delivery people are nice. Food is okay but the customer service is horrible. The girl behind the counter is nasty and totally disrespectful and on top of that They nickel and dime you for everything. I picked up almost $100 worth of food and I asked for extra Hot Oil and Duck Sauce as She only gave me 1 of each and she wanted to change 50 cents each. I told her how are 5 people going to share 1 half ounce container of duck sauce. Never going back here again. read more

Terrible terrible customer service and rubbery food. Ordered Beef in oyster sauce with NO Vegetables. They sent me an entire thing of Broccolli. This place is horrible hopefully when they switch owners like most restaurants do, they will get a better staff and better cooks. Price they charge for the horrible food is to pay the overpriced rent they are probably paying for the place. Food lacks taste, prep and originality. Their food is good. It's what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant & they're not pricey. However, I had it delivered to my job and I had said please come in to the lobby. When the guy called and said he was here I said ok can you meet me in the lobby and he just kept saying can't you come outside. And I may have been petty in giving him a bad tip but he then said, "that's it?!?" If you don't wanna go inside why are you delivering food?! And my coworkers have ordered from here before and they always come inside, this guy was just being a jerk! read more

I'll start off by saying that based on food quality, portion size, price, and cleanliness, this was my go to place for Chinese food. I've noticed the quality drop the last few times I ordered from there That said......I ordered orange beef last night which is my favorite chinese dish. I've had it from there before and loved it. Well this time was different. When I started eating it, I realized that it was all dough and very little meat. Some pieces were dough only with no meat at all. To put in perspective....a piece the size of a ping pong ball had a piece of meat the size of an eraser. I was totally surprised and annoyed which led me to write this review. I'd give it 1 star but to be fair, I don't usually write reviews and never did when I was happy with the place so I gave it 3 stars. But that orange beef was worthy of 0 stars. I hope they learn that trying to be frugal will end up hurting them and get back to what they once were. I've seen other reviews pointing out the skimping on ingredients to save a few cents. Not a good business practice. read more
