Food

Very disappointed with this shrimp pad Thai. Maybe the worst I've ever had. Barely tasted like anything other that plain linguine and a few shrimp. Very little egg. Not one bean sprout!!! Not one piece of tofu!!! No visible garlic!!! Had some peanut and a quarter wedge of lime. Two half inch pieces of garlic chive!!!!! Unreal! No sauces on the side. I feel like I went to a Chinese place and they made me a make believe pad Thai. Nice people though. Food not so much. Dueces I hated having to write this btw. Not my style but way to much money to spend on something I threw out.

Pad Thai

I was looking forward to trying this little restaurant after passing it so many times. I had a craving for pad Thai and stopped in. The place is very cute and the staff couldn't be nicer. I ordered shrimp pad Thai and the papaya salad to go. When I got home and opened the pad Thai I didn't recognize what I saw. It was a big block of very wet noodles in a red sauce with just a couple of tablespoons of chopped peanuts on the side and a wedge of lime. There were six very large and tasty shrimp. And what looked like possibly some small strands of egg. I revisited the reviews for the restaurant and did see that people were underwhelmed with the pad Thai and felt it was too sweet. I noticed that the proprietor said that this was authentic pad Thai. So I looked online for recipes and couldn't not find anything that looked like this pad Thai. It tasted good but there were so many noodles in this red sauce that I ended up throwing out most of the dish. I expected some tofu, drier noodles with a nice tamarind sauce, some greens, visible egg, maybe some bean sprouts. The papaya salad was fresh and tasted just OK. All in all I spent nearly $40 for a take out lunch that was very disappointing.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on our way to the Jersey shore. Oh my god!!! We had the sampler, pad Thai with chicken and pad kee mao. My god, you didn't know what to eat first. They also gave us a complimentary soup since they are celebrating their anniversary. We couldn't stop talking about the food the rest of the ride down. Such a great family vibe and we even took a pic with grandma. Can't wait to stop in again when we come down to the shore. The dining room isn't open off season but they let you eat your food in the dining room. Such a great bargain from such a great family.

Update: Moo Yai Thai was featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Season 42 episode 21. Watch On Demand. This place opened on April 2019. They started off with basic Thai dishes. Drinks, my current favorite is the coconut water with coconut meat. Also try the traditional Thai iced tea or the Thai tea with lime juice. Apps, I love the curry puffs. The pastry is very light and the stuffing is delish! Actually get the Moo Yai sampler and that will include the puffs, chicken satay, pork skewers and dumplings. Dumplings by the way has good portion of ground pork. Let me just state my favorite dishes Pad Thai chicken Steak salad Coconut soup with chicken Pineapple fried rice Seafood fried rice (good portion of crab meat!) Specials (dine in only) Steak cut in strips Crispy duck Pork cooked 2 ways Chicken with peanut sauce (similar to chicken satay) Garlic shrimp which is the number one favorite special Desserts you both enjoy the fried bananas and mango sticky rice. I go there many time you might see me there Enjoy!

I love Thai food and after a relatively long stint in the Los Angeles area for 7 years, I came back to NJ and tried to keep up with my Thai food journey. LA offers a lot of Thai cuisine but not NJ. I was driving by Rt 36 at Sea Bright when I saw the sign for Moo Yai Thai and came here for lunch the next day in the afternoon. Now the core: Ambiance : 3.5/5 Service : 4/5 Taste / Flavor / Authenticity: 4.75/5 Presentation of the food: 5/5 Price: $$$ pricey place. Plus they charge over 3% if you use your credit card. I'll give 2.5/5 Price of Spicy Thai Basil ground Chicken (Pad Krapow Gai) was about $18, which seems on the higher side to me. Others may have their own opinion. Also I felt the Jasmin rice didn't have that aroma. Flavor - on point excellent. Bottom line - I'll go there again and it is one of the best in the area.

We saw an episode on diners drive-ins and dives with Guy Fieri so we decided to go. We literally looked at the pictures on the menu and ordered those items !! Did not disappoint will definitely go back.. it's a byob. & Liq store is right next door & free parking during off season !!!!

Thai Iced Tea. VERY sweet. Which you'd never hear me say. But refreshing.

Everything on a skewer is great! They also manage to fry without greasiness, if you like crispiness this is your spot. Pad basil rocks.

Had delicious noodles. Only down side is there was no sit down service, only take out. But we ate it on the beach so really can't complain.

This place has gone downhill over the years. Made the mistake of giving them another chance…read morerecently. First of all they don't have heating inside the restaurant in the middle of winter. The food was below average and honestly tasteless and garbage. Then they had the audacity to add a credit card fee to the bill. Do not go here. Save your money.

The food: we started off with spring rolls, very tasty. I then had the Tom Ka Kung soup, what a great surprise. Just the right sweetness from the coconut milk and just the right amount of heat, not too spicy. Then the Panang Lamb arrived. OMG this was an amazing dish. The flavors were amazing. I got it with medium heat and it was perfect. Just the right amount to where you feel it but you want more. The lamb was cooked wonderfully and the vegetables had the right amount of tenderness. Unfortunately there wasn't any room left for dessert. I was surprised how empty it was, but all that meant was we had great service. Maybe the secret isn't out on this place. I will definitely add this to my list when I travel out here again (monthly). Give it a shot, I'm hoping you will be as surprised as I was. I had to give a shout out cause it was really good.

I saw some mixed reviews for Teak before we went, and after reading through quite a few of them, my…read morebest guess was that most of the complaints were tied to a nightclub-type vibe on a possible rooftop bar rather than the restaurant itself. We showed up hoping to snag bar seats, but it was busy and honestly a little warm for my liking. I know, I know, after the winter we've had, I have absolutely no right to complain. Either way, we ended up in an outside room with all the windows open to the patio and it was genuinely perfect. Our server Julie was fantastic. Attentive in all the right ways, including the kind of attentive where she noticed us glancing around and came over to check on us. We weren't actually looking for anything; we were just scoping out the space. Still, I appreciated the hustle. My partner ordered a gin martini, extra dirty; I went with a prosecco. Both came out cold and fast. We ordered edamame, lotus buns, the pear and crispy goat cheese salad, and the aburi roll. The edamame were solid. Nice pop of lime, though I could have used a heavier hand with the salt. The lotus buns were a revelation. Two pillowy bao buns, each stuffed with a generous slab of slow roasted pork belly glazed in hoisin, with a pickled cucumber tucked in alongside it. I'd never had anything quite like them, and the balance was what got me: the brine and snap of the pickle cutting right through the sweetness of that glaze. Really well thought out. The aburi roll was tasty; nothing jumped out as the star moment, but everything played nicely together and it went down easy. And then there was the salad. Oh, the salad. I could eat that salad every single day of the week. Crispy fried goat cheese medallions on a salad is basically a guaranteed order for me, so that's what reeled me in initially. But once I actually started eating it, I forgot all about the goat cheese. Mixed greens, thin pear slices, halved grapes, spiced pecan halves, all dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette that was genuinely outstanding. I've already started thinking about how to recreate it at home, which is the highest compliment I can give a salad. Teak delivered across the board. Don't let the rooftop reviews scare you off from the restaurant itself.

TEAK Restaurant & Bar presents its customers with a few surprises in Red Bank, NJ: fresh,…read morehigh-quality seafood and a high-energy bar area upstairs featuring dancing on Thursdays through Saturdays. THE FOOD * Chef's Sashimi Bowl: Bright and tasty with slices of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. It came professionally plated with vegetable garnishes and a few dried sweet potato and garlic chips for texture. * Oysters & Caviar: The ice-cold oysters topped with black caviar were incredibly fresh. The yuzu/ponzu sauce and sliced green onions added great flavor. Served at the perfect temperature. * Kale Caesar Salad: The surprise here was the spicy breadcrumbs, which made the dish when their spice and crunch came in alongside the creamy dressing and kale. * Tip: I would order the dressing on the side next time, and avoid pairing this with the French Onion Soup Dumplings (too many creamy/heavy components for one meal). * French Onion Dumplings: An okay dish with nice gooey cheese, but a fairly flat overall flavor profile. * Roasted Salmon: Served with a tasty, crisp crust, but it was a bit dry on the inside. It came with nice stir-fried vegetables and slightly underdone coconut rice. THE WINE * A nice selection of wines by the glass. We tried a spread of Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux, and Pinot Noir. THE SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE * Special thanks to Rigo (the sushi chef). He served up amazing sashimi and clearly draws on his 20+ years of experience at TEAK. He was incredibly personable, clearly enjoys his craft, and his presentation was excellent! * Thank you to Olivia, a new bartender upstairs, for her attentive and professional service! Wishing you the best in picking up those great line dance routines. IMPORTANT LOGISTICS Ordering: Note that you must order all your dishes at one time. OVERALL A memorable Asian fusion restaurant with an extensive upstairs dance floor and a bar on each level. Great for a casual date night or a lively evening out on the town.
