Roasted Chicken Lemonato
Alex S.

Ordered the chicken lemonato and it was five stars. This smelled so good I dug in before I took a picture but it was beautifully plated and great roasted potatoes to go with it. My family had the platters and were such big portions we all had leftovers to bring to our shore house rental nearby. Def a stop for us next time.

In town for work and they took us here for lunch. Good Greek food, the grape leafs were very good. I got the chicken skewers and it was a good size plate. Came with fries, pita bread, hummus. This could have fed two, the chicken had good flavor and juicy tenders, hummus was good as well. Others enjoyed their plates as well but I didn't try them. Their tzatziki spread was enjoyable. Overall good good and service good as well

Great service and food. The bartender came to us right away with menus and the special happy hour menu. Placed our order and served us our drinks quickly. Our food came out in a timely manner and everything was great.

Meatballs

This place was food but it didn't blow me away. The meatballs were fried which was interesting...they could have done without the extra fry. For a meal we got gyros which were impossible to eat because the pita wasn't large enough so I couldn't get a full bite of everything at once. A little disappointing. I'd like to come back and try something else because the whole menu did look great. Good prices, good service and very clean inside.

Great happy hour meal at simply Greek The food was excellent as was the service at the bar with Jerry. The Spinach salad was fantastic, chock full of goodies as were the Gyro tacos. Spanikopita was terrific, seasoned perfectly with spinach and feta. I am looking forward to returning

We were seated immediately which was a plus. I've been to many Greek/Mediterranean restaurants. Food wasn't something I would crave to go back to but it was ok. The Greek IPA was great choice. If this was the end, I would give 3-4 stars overall. The reason for 2 star - First, the drink never came out so we had to find our waitress and ask. Then again, drink never came out the 2nd time when I ordered another round, so again I had to flag down the waitress. Speaking of waitress, she never once came to ask if everything was OK, etc. Only time she came was to ask if we want boxes (get out basically). And no, it wasn't because it was busy. She had 2 other tables right next to us and she went back to them many times but we were invisible. I hate to play the race card (asian) but what else could be the reason?

Lemon soup

Love this place so much! It is my go to restaurant at pier village! The service is so great they remember me all the time because I'm a regular! I love their chicken gyros, Greek fries and lemon soup! So amazing! I would give them 1,000,000 star rating if I could! Great spot and they have a lunch special of $14 definitely add this to your long branch foodie Bucketlist! I love the place too such cute decor!

NY strip. Really good with the potatoes and tzasiki sauce!

I haven't lived in this area for years, but when I come back to visit we always come here at least once during our trip. When I lived here we came a few times a year also. The fries and gyro are so good. I can't eat gluten anymore so this time I tried the NY strip; I subbed the fries for the potatoes and ate it with tzasiki (sp?) sauce. OMG to die for. The combo was excellent. The potatoes had such a great flavor and were a little crispy outside, yet tender inside. The steak was perfect. The tzasiki sauce is always good. Together- an amazing combination. Seriously one of my top ten meals this year. Two thumbs up! I also got the small simple salad, which was big enough to share with 3 other people as a side dish. Very good. Service was excellent also.

This is a great take-out spot that I recommend to everyone.

This time we tried the fava dish, lentil salad, rice pudding, sausage appetizer and falafel. Surprised and delighted with how light and crispy the falafel was! We learned Egyptian falafel is made with fava beans and not chickpeas. The sausage appetizer came with a very flavorful tomato sauce for dipping homemade pita bread. Hummus was also very creamy and delicious. The evening was rainy and cold so we were the only customers making it feel very cozy. The owner and chef was accommodating and shared memories of growing up in Egypt. We enjoyed our time very much. Food is a step above typical Mediterranean. p.s. updated review to add pictures from our first visit. We fell in love with the mint tea, lentil salad, French fries, and pita wraps with tahini dressing.

The food was very good. The Greek paella was delicious and the portions huge. The Octopus was a bit tough. So I came here again for lunch last week (5/25), and I ordered the fried calamari the Spanikopita and the grilled octopus with mashed fava. The mashed fava was delicious and has become my new obsession. However, I disappointed with the rest of my lunch. The octopus was tough and one small portion had a bitter taste slightly like vinegar. It could've been that it was charred on the grill And so it tasted a bit bitter. I still ate it trying to find a piece that maybe would have tasted better and tender and then that brought back a recollection of the last time that I was here that my friend and I felt the octopus was a bit tough. Most likely overcooked. The fried calamari did not have flavor. At $21 for the appetizer, I expected better. I have a hard time trying to find good calamari and I think I've been to maybe two places that actually seasoned the breading and the calamari was delicious. Not here. It also was not served with lemon. I've gone between giving them 3 or 4 stars but decided on four since I can't give 3.5. I'm basing my rating on the cleanliness of the place, the space, the service, as the young lady who was my waitress was an absolute doll, and the fava, paella, lamb kebabs and huge portions. Would I go here again, yes, I would, but I will try other dishes. I will not be ordering the calamari here or anywhere else again nor will I be ordering the octopus here again. Note: for lunch, I spent $55.45 for the 3 items, not including tip.

There is a parking lot across the street you can park at so no need to worry about street parking. The first thing I noticed was that this location was much smaller than the New Brunswick location and had a more chill vibe. I thought the happy hour menu had less selection as well. I was low-key disappointed there were no clams or oysters on the menu considering we are much closer to the shoreline. My husband loved his smashburger, it was very juicy. He also enjoyed the sweet potato fries which he normally doesn't like. My wings have the perfect amount of sauce where it didn't drown the wing and it was still a big crispy. We were in and out within the hour so service was fast on a Tuesday night. But I think we are going to stick with the New Brunswick branch.

It's certainly not ethical!) We were charged approx TWICE as much for the Website listed 'Special' tacos! They certainly were special-E'special'ly expensive! We asked to speak with the manager who indicated that she didn't even know that this 'Special' was still on their website. At that point (and in good faith), she should have offered us something as compensation! When told that they do not carry a common beverage-BLUE MOON, the waitress suggested giving me a similar beer and offered a 'taste test'. I could not tell if I liked the sample cause the shot glass had SO LITTLE beer in it-offering me NO TASTE at all. We also ordered chips, plantains, and salsa as an appetizer. For the cost of $14.00, I assumed it would contain enough chips for three people and might even be an unlimited supply. There were approx 15 chips on the plate and 6 plantains-which were tasteless. But think about it!? 15 taco chips for three people to the tune of $14.00?! They should be embarrassed! By 7:30, this restaurant was almost empty. We have been there several times over the years, but this place has deteriorated, in many ways, and we will no longer patronize this establishment!
