12-14-2025 Where do I begin ... I wanted to have a lunch party for my wife's 65th and was looking for a local restaurant. We went to Simply Greek a couple times prior and loved the freshness of the food, the decor and the Owner and staff. On 12-13-25 we had the party and had 38 people attend The owner (Theo) really did such a great job in taking care of everything. The food was a 5 plus !!! Everything was made fresh - from the hummus and pita, Calamari, zucchini chips, Greek Salad (appetizers) to the entrees - Grilled Salmon, Chicken Souvlaki, , Grilled Lamb Chops and the Gyro platter. At least 20 people (or more) raved about the food. (If you are thinking about planning a party, you really should consider this great restaurant) The deserts and coffee (including the Greek Coffee) was a delicious ending to the meal. The staff, including Faith (the head waitress) was extremely friendly and attentive. We couldn't ask for better service !!! If you're not familiar with Pier Village, it is located on the beach in Long Branch. The area is beautiful as your guests can browse the many stores if they get there early or want to stay a little longer. We stopped here for lunch. This place is lively and pretty busy, a popular choice by many. The staff is very friendly and service is pretty quick too. We ordered falafel pita sandwiches and they were good. For dessert we ordered baklava and my rating is low because of this baklava. It's a pretty big piece for $10 but I was struggling to cut through the dough, it was very soggy and dough was not cooked. I wish I returned it back. I haven't had this bad of baklava before. Not sure if it's a one time thing but I wouldn't get it there again. read more

Food is a 3.5 but rounded up to a 4 because the staff are so nice and we had a good experience. We were seated quickly and our food came out not long after we ordered. The best part of the meal was the Greek salad - very fresh and generous with toppings. I thought the gyro was good and the portion is generous but not the best I've ever tried. Ordered the chicken lemonato and it was five stars. This smelled so good I dug in before I took a picture but it was beautifully plated and great roasted potatoes to go with it. My family had the platters and were such big portions we all had leftovers to bring to our shore house rental nearby. Def a stop for us next time. read more

We stopped by this place in Pier Village, which is in the heart of all the stores and restaurants. We had hummus, fried zucchini, a mixed meat platter, and drinks. They had indoor and outdoor seating, so we sat outside. The hummus was chunky and just okay. We all thought it did not have much flavor - eh- so we wouldn't order it again. The fried zucchini was good, and we got an enjoyable meat platter. We enjoyed our meal outside and probably would stop by again. read more

Mediocre food and absolutely atrocious service. My family went to have a meal and couldn't finish the salad because there was a bad, sulfuric, rotten egg smell coming from the dishware. We asked the server who said he smelled it too, but he did nothing to remedy the situation. As we were leaving, the owner, upon hearing the complaints, instead of apologizing or attempting to fix the situation, tried to ridicule us in front of the whole restaurant asking loudly, "how come noone else smelled it." Disgusting behavior, I don't know how anyone could run a business with such low class and standards. Take a lesson in customer service. read more

This place was food but it didn't blow me away. The meatballs were fried which was interesting...they could have done without the extra fry. For a meal we got gyros which were impossible to eat because the pita wasn't large enough so I couldn't get a full bite of everything at once. A little disappointing. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Went in on a quiet Tuesday early summers nite. Happy hour was til 730 so sat at the bar. Happy hour is basically 2-3$ off regular prizes on select things from drinks to mezes and some entrees. Food came out fast. Maybe too fast. Falafels were dry and lacking of good flavors. If this was the end, I would give 3-4 stars overall. The reason for 2 star - First, the drink never came out so we had to find our waitress and ask. Then again, drink never came out the 2nd time when I ordered another round, so again I had to flag down the waitress. I'm a frequent patron of this restaurant. We were there two weeks ago. Husband and I had the chicken platter and stuffed grape leaves. I also ordered a side salad. I was charged $5 for feta cheese. I was charged for extra tatziki even though I had tatziki come with my platter, which btw isnt tatziki, it's plain yogurt with cucumber. We ordered a non alcoholic beer and a mineral water. Bill was $150 . That's quite steep . I went last night to get a take out salad. Small Greek salad with grilled chicken cost me $25! There was 1 stuffed grape leaf. Menu said " leaves". The salad was half packed with feta cheese... it was overkill. I mean $25 for a small Greek salad is getting ridiculous. I know times are tough but come on. read more

Came to the bar for happy hour. As a local, I love This Place! Best deal in Pier Village!! The bartenders Jerry and Mike were awesome. Martinis were fabulous!! Friendly large Greek restaurant in Pier village by the beach. The entrees are big enough for 2 people, so don't be fooled by the high prices. The food is good but not great. I haven't lived in this area for years, but when I come back to visit we always come here at least once during our trip. When I lived here we came a few times a year also. The fries and gyro are so good. I can't eat gluten anymore so this time I tried the NY strip; I subbed the fries for the potatoes and ate it with tzasiki (sp?) sauce. OMG to die for. The combo was excellent. The potatoes had such a great flavor and were a little crispy outside, yet tender inside. The steak was perfect. The tzasiki sauce is always good. PROS: This Greek Restaurant is one of my favorite casual Greek Restaurant I've been to. I had dinner here on a Sunday night and the staff was very friendly, the food was price appropriately, there were many Greek options, and the food came out fast. They kept the place clean, too CONS: You can't park anywhere near there so you have to find parking far away. Also the flounder that i ordered seemed bland and I could have sworn i must have come across several tiny rib bones. OVERALL: This is a really nice Greek Restaurant and I suggest making this place a location to eat at. I've been to this restaurant twice before, but I've had better experiences in the past. My boyfriend and I came in for lunch and we were seated outdoors. We never really found out who our server was, but had spoken to 3 different people throughout our meal. We ordered the Sangria while waiting for our meals and it was pretty straightforward. I ordered the Stuffed Peppers and my boyfriend ordered the Gyro Sandwich. The Stuffed Peppers were just okay. The meat and rice were bland and the dish was missing flavor even though there was plenty of sauce pooling at the base of the plate. My boyfriend let me have a bite of his sandwich and we both agree his meal tasted better in comparison. We've had better gyro sandwiches elsewhere. Service was slow although there weren't that many people dining at the same time. Overall, Simply Greek isn't my top choice at Pier Village. read more

It was hot outside, but nicely air conditioned inside. My drink order was the Arnold Palmer with no ice. It was the best blend of ice tea and lemonade. The pita bread in a basket was warm and tasty. My "small" Greek salad was pretty big. I asked for no onions in my salad, and it came without them. The feta cheese was cut into small pieces that I enjoyed. Plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers with great salad dressing. The grape leaf was also good. There were also black olives and sliced peppers. My brother enjoyed his salad with filafals. Every time I eat here I am not disappointed. Never too long of a wait for seating. I always get the lamb gyro sandwich for $10. It's pretty big and the meat is always very tender and flavorful. Excellent tsaziki sauce...thick and generously poured on the wrap. Fresh veggies and the softest pita. Their spanakopita is great to share or for an entree. Dough is perfectly flakey and stuffed with spinach and feta. Also recommend the hummus for starters; you can't go wrong. I want to start with how great the food is here. We stopped in for a snack and ended up in front of an endless platter of delicious cuts of meat. I can eat, so its not a complaint for me, but they should warn people that thats definitely a perfect sized four person plate. Took some lamb, threw on a little onion, wrapped it in pita and slid it through their tzatsiki. Everything went together seamlessly. We ordered well done, i suggest medium/medium-well for future guests. Where I was unhappy was for a few reasons that solely have to do with the staff. The hostess, at first, was no where to be found. Another woman, I assume was a waitress, showed up to cover the fact that she was gone. When the hostess told us there is a 25 minute wait, the waitress corrected her and said no there's a seat inside, there were actually 4 or 5 tables available. After that, it was fighting flies the entire time trying to protect our plates. Fly traps are very unnattractive, but so is the fatigue of swatting flys myself. Other than that, I couldnt even get a refill of water from my waitress(not the one in the beginning, shes cool, shes about the team) so I had to ask someone else. For a prime location such as this, next to the beach in a wonderful area, the food is great in both taste and presentation, staff should be the very least of worry. I will return once its beach season again, hopefully to a superior staff! read more

I stopped here today because this was the most appetizing! service was surprisingly quick and the food was pretty good. the lamb gyro has thinly sliced lamb which could either be really good or really in bad taste. For them it was fabulous! their food was quiet enjoyable since it paired well with the 'greek fries' (fires spritzed with lemon and oregano). Also the sangria is pretty delicious! you can taste the purity of the wine. Keep in mind that this is still on the Long branch strip and pricing is actually pretty decent compared to say central or the city. cannot wait to go back! read more

I came here for lunch on a recommendation from a family member I was in the mood for Greek food so I knew I had to try this place. Simply Greek has new owners as of October, it is located in Pier Village across the street from the beach.. I came here in the off season so it was very easy to park, no metered parking until May or congestion. The space is open and inviting, and has a nice vibe to it. The colors are soft and tranquil like the Mediterranean Sea. On one wall there is a large"Greek Eye" it's to ward off evil and keep away any bad luck. ( It's Greek Superstition) I know because I wore one around my neck for years. The tables are all natural wood, and the chairs are covered in that bright blue hue used in Greece. In the dining room there are a couple of large flat screens and strands of lights hanging from the ceiling on one end of the room. Towards the front there is a full bar with some seating. The kitchen is open and off towards the back. I was seated immediately, and my waiter came right over to take our drink order. He was very pleasant and attentive. Simply Greek serves a lot of nice dishes such as Kabobs,Kebob Platters Greek Style Pizza, Traditional Greek Dishes, Seafood, Meats, Meze Plates, Greek Spreads, Salads, add-ons and Sides along with a KIDS MENU. They offers GULTEN FREE and VEGETARIAN dishes, just look for a GF for Gulten Free or a V for Vegetarian next to an item on the menu. Simply Greek serves daily Lunch Specials. Since I checked in with Yelp I was able to use the 5% off coupon. You must check- in first in order to have the coupon come up and be able to use it. I started with an order of Spanakopita aka "spinach pie" It was golden brown and crispy on the outside and hot and delicious on the inside. It had a nice ratio of feta and spinach to phyllo dough. I throughly enjoyed it and split it with my daughter for an appetizer. For my main dish I tried the lunch special. I had a GYRO- (pronounced Yedo.) I had a choice of Chicken, Gyro-meat which was lamb, or Pork. I choice the Pork. My Gyro was a nice size. It was served on a warm pita and loaded with chunks of marinated and cooked Greek style pork , tomatoes, onions, and a thick Tzatzaki Sauce. ( Tzatzaki sauce is made with thick Greek yogurt, finely diced cucumbers, fresh dill, lemon juice, garlic, S&P.)On the side were Greek Fries. ( what makes them Greek are fresh lemon juice, oregano and sometimes added feta.) My french fries were golden brown and nicely seasoned. I was a bit surprised that my Gyro didn't have any crisp shredded lettuce on it. It's normally a standard on this type of sandwich. My waiter came over several times to check and make sure we were happy and to refill our water glasses. The place was pretty empty when we were there. I'm sure it was do to being off season. In season this place would be crazy busy, especially on weekends. I was full so I didn't order any dessert. They don't take reservations, and all food can be ordered to takeout. read more

If you're looking for authentic Greek eats this is not the place. I am a big greek foodie and have been to Greece several times so authentic is hard to come by here in the states . I always love trying different Greek spots to see who can come close to there amazing cuisine . To say I was disappointed is an understatement.
