Stayed at the Marine Street Apartment which is separate from the B&B. It was absolutely perfect. Spacious, modern, clean and right on the edge of downtown. We sat on our 2nd story deck and listened to live music every evening with a cocktail that played at OC Whites. They concluded most nights by 9:00pm so no problem sleeping. We walked each morning to the B&B for breakfast which is a short walk and it was delicious. Lots of choices and wonderful people taking care of you. Housekeeping came every day so fresh towels, bed made and dishes done if I hadnt done them. Great location for walking everywhere. You see the fort from the deck as well as the schooners departing every evening. Highly recommend this specific apartment. Absolutely wonderful! read more

BEWARE: If you are looking for a pet friendly hotel like the site claims, look elsewhere. Upon arrival they put us in the wrong suite which they claimed was NOT pet friendly. They said we will just have to deal with it and to make sure our dogs do not bark. The funny thing is, us and our dogs could not enjoy our quiet relaxing vacation due to the massive WEDDING that was in the room above us. Upon returning to our room, we found that housekeeping stripped us of any comforters and pillows in order to prevent our dogs from causing any "damage" to the room. So for our last night we all shared our 1 thin blanket and sat quietly in the dark as the party rampaged on upstairs. It was something out of a Travel magazine the sunrise in the mornings on the deck with coffee. I loved hearing the birds and the waves hit the shore. Our room was cozy and comfortable . My boyfriend and I recently stayed here as part of my birthday celebration. I'm a big fan of B&B's and this one was excellent. We checked in with no problems and the woman working there walked us up to our room. We had the Forrester Suite. I had chosen this suite since it was the only one that had the jacuzzi in a separate bathroom. A lot of B&B's have jacuzzis as part of the bedroom and to me that's kind of tacky/weird. The room was beautiful and very well kept. One of the reasons I had picked Bayfront was for their nightly happy hour. From 5-7 p.m. each night they have drinks and goodies in their dining room. There's a nice variety of finger foods, beer, wine, sangria and a special dessert. One night they had margaritas and these peanut butter jelly sugar cookies that were to die for! We loved sipping on our drinks while swinging on the porch swing by our room looking out at the bay. The first night we fired up the jacuzzi and it was LOUD...we hoped we weren't disturbing our neighbors, but we didn't get any complaints. Jacuzzi was a lovely way to relax...wish they had candles/bubble bath in the room! That would have been a nice extra touch. During the day when people are moving around we could hear people go up and down the stairs and talking. No matter though since we weren't in the room much during the day. Just a note for those who might be easily bothered by noise. We met one of the owners one morning, who introduced himself at breakfast. He was very nice and gave us some recommendations on a beach to go to (Anastasia State Park). The only thing that we didn't really like was that they require you to plan out your breakfast the night before. Including where you want to be served and what time. When we're on vacation we don't really like to follow a set schedule and would have preferred a "breakfast is from 8-10 a.m." kind of routine. They do this so they don't make too much food and waste it. I can totally appreciate this...it was just hard for us to figure out an exact time that we wanted breakfast. You can choose to decline breakfast, but don't! It was delicious each morning. Perfectly fluffy banana pancakes one morning and a yummy quiche lorraine the next. I stayed here while attending a wedding at the Sanchez House next door. The service was very accommodating and friendly, the staff is a highlight of the place. I stayed in the Bridge of Lions room which was spacious and elegant, while my parents stayed in the Marie Antoinette room which is a real stunner. They had their own private balcony overlooking the bay, providing a real private treat and a great place to hang out. It has a great location for visiting the historic district and was overall a very pleasant stay. As far as breakfast goes, they were helpful with providing foods for dietary restrictions like gluten-free and wheat-free. read more

Overall, this was a nice stay but there is multiple things that could be changed for improvement. Firstly, we booking during a pandemic so obviously things have changed so keep that in mind. We booked the day prior to arrival and stayed just one night for a stop on our road trip. We booked room 017 Francisco Marin. The website told us it was $179 but I had to call to book to get the weekly military discount and when I called the price was then $259. We arrived and parked in the unloading zone, greeted by no one and left confused about where our room was. With no one to ask, we just wondered around until we found someone. We also did not know where the parking lot was and I had to send a text message asking them. Overall, this could improve by a simple greeting message and building map. Example: Once you arrive you can find your room ...... Use your personal code to enter and inside your room on the table will be a welcome package, as well as, a map and parking directions for your convenience." This quick synopsis of how things work will be great to help someone who has never stayed at this hotel before. Secondly, the changes they made during this time included no contact check in and checkouts. Happy hour and breakfast delivery to your room. No housekeeping during your stay and if you need extras they just bring it to the door. Overall, these are great changes and compromises but they have over looked details. We got a text (their contactless system) saying breakfast was quiche and asking for delivery time and # guest's. I booked out time slot but later realized that I had no clue what their breakfast entails. Do we get coffee, water, juice, maybe fruit, or bread? And no clue what type of quiche? I sent a text asking and received no answer. To better this, they should type a generic menu. Example: Cheese and bacon quiche with a toasted crust served with banana bread and sliced fruit. Orange juice and a pot of coffee per room. Something like that so people are not left wonder what's going to arrive AND so people can be accommodated for diet restrictions, which they never asked about. The same happened for happy hour, we got a text saying it was served between 5-6pm and asking what we wanted to drink. They did list the few categories of drinks but that was it. No description of the snacks that would arrive or about diet restrictions. I feel that those little step's, would take it such a step further of comfort because I was left confused about what was arriving. Thirdly, the room. Overall, its beautiful but you can tell that a level of quality is missing. The wall on the right side of the fire place is crooked. The dresser is bowing down the middle so the drawers are messed up. The night stand is missing a handle & the shelf under the tv is not properly secured (which is a hazard). The bed and headboard must not be attached because any movement and the hole thing is shaking. The bathroom is beautiful but the vanity is too large and impedes into the walkway, which makes for a tight squeeze. It would just be more comfortable if it was a touch smaller or pushed over more to the right for space. The walls are very thin, its right on the alley and we can hear people walking by, cars, and the people upstairs. The last & most important is the door, because of the space between the glass and the blinds people from the street can see right into your room at night. And the security is lacking, the handle is a personal code door handle, there is a deadbolt, and a door chain. All of that is located right next to the glass so if someone wanted to they could just break it unlock it all. Fourth, we came back around 10:30pm and all the lights outside were off. Which we found weird and possibly unsafe. Through all of this, the room is still beautifully done and we enjoyed our stay. Im not sure the price is 100% justified because of the things I mentioned but I would consider staying again in another room to give another chance if I didn't find another location. read more

Wow, just wow. My wife and I have stayed in numerous B&Bs over the years and this one is, by far, the best. Period. My wife and I stayed with them for her birthday weekend. We booked for two nights and took advantage of their offer to extend for another night at a very good price. The first room wasn't available for all three nights, so we spent one night in the Francisco Marin room and two in the Burgess Cottage. They even moved our luggage from one room to another. The Marin room is beautiful, to be sure, but the Burgess Cottage is wonderful. If it's available, book it. You won't be disappointed. We checked in about 5pm, so just in time for Happy Hour. They have a great selection of beer, two sangrias, red, white, and blush wine, and some great homemade snacks. The staff is absolutely charming. Our hosts and the owner circulated during the happy hour, making us feel like part of the family. Very personable, thoughtful, and professional. We also decided to bring our dog on the trip and everyone was wonderful and accommodating to Wallace, our terrier. The staff offered a list of dog friendly attractions and restaurants upon check-in. There was a limitless supply of peanut banana dog treats and the entire staff seemed to love animals. I think Wallace would love to return as much as we do. We chose to take breakfast on the patio every morning. You can't beat the view of the bay and the cool breezes. The food was very good. A nice variety from day to day, so we didn't get tired of anything. They are very efficient and the service is quite good. I would, without hesitation, stay at the Bayfront Marin again. It's quite close to us, they have excellent rates, and you will not find a more professional and courteous staff. Stay Here! read more

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful B&B. The room was romantic and luxurious with a large jetted tub and views of the harbor and a private porch. The breakfasts were amazing!!! This was my first bed and breakfast experience so I didn't know what to expect. Everyone was so nice and the property was beautiful! Great location to great restaurants and shopping! We stayed in the captain henry's suite on the second floor. The view was beautiful and the outdoor seating was great. The happy hour in the evening from 5-7 was awesome! Sat outside enjoying wine , beer, and lovely bites. The breakfast was amazing. on the first morning the hot item was a sausage, onion, and cheese omelette. Really yummy! The second morning, the hot item was a Belgium blueberry waffle and bacon. It was fluffy and had the perfect amoumt of blueberries. Like I mentioned earlier everyone was so nice! I read good reviews and chose BMH. But I felt I was cheated. The house, room, and bedding are all old and polyester sheets? not comfortable. The room is facing a noisy street and you won't expect a good sleep on this bed. and the food was not up to mcdonald's standards we went to cafes for breakfast . Great location and a great staff. The staff loves their job or at least they fooled all of us. The rooms are great and not just clean, but super clean. The breakfasts were great with many choices. You turn in your breakfast order the night before. Cake or cupcakes with coffee at night. You can eat inside, on the porches, outside or in the gazebo. The view is to die for. There is much to do and see in the town. Parking is a long walk but not too bad. The down sides: all street parking is metered $1.50 for 3 hours, the max you can stay in that spot. Parking enforcement starts at 8am. Transportation is way over priced so we mostly walked, very healthy. read more

What a beautiful place to stay! We stayed in the Saltwater Suite, right near Vilano Beach, and absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing; we forgot to put in our order for breakfast until really late at night, and, even though they never found our card, when we went to the main building in the morning, they had it out to us in less than 15 minutes. Our room was separate from the main B&B, and was a short walk from the beautiful Vilano Beach. It was very private, and had it's own small pool just for us! The parking lot for those staying in the beach rooms is a bit of a walk from downtown, but is worth it. My one complaint was the AC, or lack thereof. The swamp cooler or whatever it was that was supposed to cool the room made it very humid and sticky, and never seemed to go below 80 degrees, despite us trying to turn it down. Overall, absolutely amazing place in a beautiful city! read more

This is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon and it was AMAZING! Beautiful historic house right there by the bridge of lions. The owner came talked with at breakfast one morning and gave is the backstory and we chatted a bit. The room was beautiful as well. Most of the rooms have a hot tub and ours was great! We stayed in Stephanie's Hideaway. Very cozy and beautiful room! The shower had dual shower heads so we could shower together. The food was really great as well! The b&b was VERY close to everything really in historic St. Augustine that you'd want to visit (except the lighthouse, and if you really really wanted to you could walk there too). January 2016. Spent two nights in the Marie Antoinette room. Overall happy with our stay. It was my husbands birthday and the staff arranged for a little decoration in the room (balloons, cake, champagne). The breakfast each morning was just ok. There is a choice from a hot item or fruit, oatmeal, and bagels as an alternative. The room was very impressive however the bed was a little on the uncomfortable side and could be over due for a new mattress. While their cancellation policy is listed on their website I still feel charging me $35 for canceling is unfair and unnecessary. We were going to reschedule and when we do it will be at a different property. Shame on them for having such a terrible cancellation policy. read more

I stayed in the Forrester Suite earlier this month. The place was very cute and clean. Staff was okay. The only bad part of my stay, and an important one to me, was the a/c not working. It was about 72 in the room when we first arrived. The a/c was turned down but only blew out warm air. Towards the end of the night, we come back to the room and it is now up to 76. We tried to sleep, but eventually I couldn't take it anymore and went down to the office at 2am. I was told that since she was in the front office/kitchen cooking all night it would make my room hot. She also told me another room, #5, was having the same issue. It was so bad (up to 80 degrees) I almost packed up my things at 3am to leave. We were literally sweating all night. For the amount of money it takes to stay here I would think they could fix this ongoing a/c issue. If you're going to stay here, and like to stay cool, don't stay in the Forrester suite (#8) or suite #5. read more

I think this place is a four stars plus - they do so many things right and truly make the Inn a lovely place to relax and enjoy a getaway to St Augustine. I chose the room on the website, it had nice decor and a large garden tub in the corner of the room. It was on the lower level - perhaps a little extra noise but nothing substantial. The front office was very helpful and answered tons of questions and offered good suggestions of where to eat and how to get there . Check in was fast and easy, first impression of the Inn from the outside was very charming with a garden in full bloom, a hammock and gazebo. Parking at no extra charge is off premises approximately a five minute walk. The room was immaculate and the website pictures accurately reflected the colors and decor. The bed linens were very high quality, nice comfy pillows and an elegant bed coverlet. Plenty of extra large towels for both the tub and shower area, high end bath products to match. The complimentary happy hour was charming, nice home made Sangria as well as wine and beer selections, dainty appetizers. Nice to sit in the lovely garden in the afternoon having a drink with a water view... The night was quiet, the bed comfortable, I wish we could have slept in but there was so much in town to see that we arranged to have breakfast in the gazebo at 8 am. My husband mentioned to the staff that it was my birthday and ordered champagne with our special breakfast. We had delicious eggs Benedict, oatmeal, croissants and fresh fruit - it felt truly special and the service was excellent - the breakfast was part of the to price. This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast(I had been begging my husband forever and he finally took me much to my surprise). First off when we checked in I personally didn't think the women working behind the counter was to friendly but maybe I'm just sensitive anyways the room was pretty nice kind of standard but not bad, the social was my favorite thing no one socialized with one another but the drinks and desserts were very good. The worst part of the experience was the breakfast(which I was really looking forward to) it was the standard badly cooked eggs and sausage links with some alright sides...didn't live up to my expectations but maybe better luck next time? My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. The service was amazing for the entirety of our stay and the views were great. We spent nights on the couples swing, the hammock, or enjoying the deep jetted bathtub. The shower even had body jets (probably one of my favorite features). I would definitely recommend taking advantage of their romance packages - the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne were delicious! Their daily breakfast (I would recommend trying breakfast in bed or in their gazebo), daily happy hour (yummy snacks and sangrias/beers), and free bike rentals all helped to make our trip extra romantic and special. My wife and I needed a weekend getaway before things get crazy as she is 6 months pregnant with our 2nd. We went with the Captain Henry on the 2nd floor. The Bayfront team reached out via email and text prior to our stay to share a few notes before we arrived. I thought this was incredibly helpful. In what appears to be taking older reviews into consideration, they now allow you to park up front without having to pay for any parking meters while you get to your room for the first time. Inside, they give you details about where you're able to park and leave a very nice detailed welcome letter. They also had a virtual helper in the room that could answer specific questions we may had (think Alexa or Siri). We even ordered a bottle of water to be delivered using it! The majority of the experience was contactless except for the delivery of breakfast and happy hour treats (who'd complain about that?) and you can place your orders via text. If you forget, they reach out to confirm; very nice). The rooms were the perfect balance of rustic and modern, with the antique, time-appropriate nuances befitting St Augustine but all the amenities you can't live without. You can walk to the plethora of restaurants and the view is fantastic also. The employees come across as family members of the owner which bolsters the hospitality feel and all the other guests were very pleasant. We stayed here in early January for a group event. This is a great month for St. A as the nights of lights are still going on - when almost every tree, window, roof line and rail are outlined with white lights in the old city - very romantic. The Bayfront Marin House is located on the quieter end of St. A, but still close to our favorite bars and restaurants and wonderful for walking through the charming narrow neighborhood streets of the old city. And the view of the bay and the Bridge of Lions is spectacular. The roomy courtyard gives you space to relax and enjoy the slow pace of St. A. I enjoyed working with Mike at Bayfront picking out rooms for each couple - everyone was very pleased with their room. We first took all the ones with king size beds - ours was the Lyndsay Michelle on the second floor. The weather was not really nice enough to enjoy the great porch seating area this time, but on another trip, it would be a great private gathering area. It overlooked the inn's courtyard with the bay in the background. Very quiet and roomy - it has an extra bedroom which would be nice if you brought kids - but maybe not another couple as you had to pass through it to get to the bathroom. The best room views were probably from the Marie Antoinette on the 2nd floor and the King George below it on the first floor, both with queen beds and nice private little porches for a front row seat on the whole bay view. Both had nice bathrooms, but the KG had a great shower made for two. All the rooms were comfortable and beautifully furnished - reminder - these are mostly furnished in antiques and the inn is old! If you are expecting shiny and new - stay at a hotel and not a B&B like Bayfront Marin House. Breakfasts were lovely and filling, with a different main dish served each day - like french toast, eggs benedict, or hashbrown casserole, and you could choose alternatives and extras - fruit, toast, oatmeal, cereal, juice,etc - as much as your wanted - the staff wanted you to be satisfied. And you chose when and where to eat: the garden / gazebo area in the courtyard, or if the weather is not so nice, the gathering area by the office. Or you can have it brought to your room but I think there is a charge for that service. Chatting with fellow inn guests is part of the fun here. We met several nice couples, some whose company we enjoyed for drinks at the happy hour and later at the taverns down the street like the Cigar Bar or Hensley's tavern. Speaking of the happy hour - they go beyond the usual bottle of wine. A red and white sangria, wine, several beers, and different snacks each night - cheese balls and hot dips or meatballs, mini eggrolls. Enough to keep you going till your supper. The staff were all very friendly here too. I have stayed in many nice B&B's in St. A, but the combination of the location, view, amenities, staff and atmosphere make the Bayfront Marin House my favorite so far. I think each of us in the group left planning our next visit to St A and the Bayfront Marin House. read more

It was quite small, but lovely. We wished there was a dresser for our clothes. We only had about 4 hangers and had our clothes out of our suitcases.
