This guys are highly skilled and professional. No pressure, no sweet talking like at other places we went before. Everything happened pretty fast since their catalogs covered everything we needed to see. Always wanted to do some changes in the house and decided to start with window treatment. We ordered very delicate sash curtain to filter light and from much heavier fabric over-decorative drapery and drapery drop. One of the important part was a swags. I didn't want them to be too long to cover some beauty of drapes, but at the sane time I didn't want them to be trimmed too short to look like a taylor safe on my fabric. Next part was a hardware, which they had tones of differed variety, to match the rod to the style of the drapery, to the type of windows and the general décor of the room. Tiebacks was the other important thing for presentation, since we don't have high ceilings and heavy tiebacks will attract entire attention from the drapes and make them look shorter then they actually are. After the order was placed few weeks later the installers arrived. They were very professional and completed the installation pretty quick. It look beautiful just like in the catalog! Elegant but reach looking drapes show off each and every unique detail of ordered design. Absolutely recommend them to family and friends.

I am thinking about these guys now because my kid put a stain on the couch that I'm trying to clean…read moreup. I left them a message but I know they'll call back because they always do. We had the structure of a custom couch made by a woodworker, so no cushions. My wife went to J&Y and had a terrific experience. She explained what she wanted, they gave her many options with details on how different fabrics work, made beautiful cushions and to avoid waste used remaining fabric to cover 4 pillows at a very low price (I don't remember exactly but it was a lot cheaper than I expected). The work was done quickly enough, professionally. We've had this here for several years now and it's still in really good condition... aside from the stain unfortunately, but that's what kids are for I guess. You gotta keep in mind that this is a dying craft and these people are disappearing. If you're looking for cheap stuff you'll find it at any of the big stores but it won't be as good as anything you'll get from J&Y. Like a good craftsperson, they'll charge more but you get more. I highly recommend this small local business. I myself will make sure to give them my business whenever I can. PS. I also swung by there one time to ask if they would cut some foam for a Halloween costume I was making for my kid (yes, the same one who made the stain) and they quickly and happily took care of it in about 2 minutes. It's a great group of hard working people.

In my experience CostCo prides themselves on researching and vetting their business partners, and their selection of The Shade Company is no exception. In this particular instance, I had a large custom window to dress and a completely blank slate. I wanted to engage with the space's natural light, and have a simple yet modern look that functioned easily and well for privacy. Oren, Iris and the rest of the Shade Company team were extremely helpful, professional, accommodating, responsive, and informative. I received exclusively excellent customer service and results from start to finish: consultation, selection process, change order process, installation, and even thereafter to close out the job. 11/10 look no further for your window treatment needs.

Tamer Brothers Restoration at 465 Baltic St in Brooklyn Did…read morean exceptional job restoring my bird's-eye maple Deco bedside cabinets. I bought them about 40 years ago from a vintage dealer in Lower Manhattan; they are a loved staple in my home. During a relocation, the cabinets sustained significant damage. I took a chance and contacted Tamer Brothers. They were professional and personable, assessed the repairs needed, and picked up the 2 pieces from my home. Tamer's restoration is masterful; the veneer matches seamlessly. The cabinets' subtle curves and tapered corners are perfect; the color variations match, and the surface is as smooth as satin. Updated. The work of a true artisan. I highly recommend Tamer Brothers for any restoration work; they are dedicated to a high standard. Sending many, many thanks.
