My sister and I purchase coupons for the deluxe mani/pedi so I called to make the appointment like the coupon stated, however when we arrived they did not honor the appointment time. Instead we had to sign in like everyone else and were taken back in the order we signed in. If this had been my only problem, I would have been a little frustrated since I had asked about coming in on a weekend but was told that there were no more appointments for this particular coupon on weekends, but things only got worse. We were both taken back to the pedicure stations and one lady began working on my sister. About ten minutes later another lady came to start mine. She rushed through so fast that she did not scrap the callouses off (my feet were still rough when I got home), and both women shortened the "ten minute hot stone massage" to about 5 minutes. In the middle of the massage, another woman pulled a cart over and began literally slapping nail polish on our finger nails. I haven't had that bad of a manicure since I was a teenager and doing it myself. The polish didn't even cover the nail in some places. While this is all going on, the lady doing my massage gets up and starts working with someone else, completely leaving me without my pedicure. The same woman who barely painted our fingernails, then painted my toenails. As soon as she was done, they gathered our belonging and plopped us down at a drying station. As we looked around we realized that they weren't treating everyone else in there the same way, those getting manicures actually got to sit at the manicure station, they were actually chatting with people and talking their while giving them pedicures. They just wanted us out of the way faster so that they could move on to full-price paying clients. I think that it's completely unacceptable to offer a coupon or discount but then treat the customer totally different from other paying customers. read more

This has to be the worst salon experience I've EVER had and I've been to nail salons ALL over the U. S. and the world! This was by far the worst manicure I've ever had! The technicians ( and calling them technicians is giving far too much credit) at Baxter's simply do NOT know what they're doing! They simply are not trained for the services they are providing and take absolutely no pride in their work!!! They do not care how their clientele leave their establishment! I left with all my nails a different length and shape and they were so thick, I didn't look human! My polish was smeared and gritty not to mention glue and other gunk under and around my nails! If you want to over pay for a nightmare - Baxter Nails & Spa is the place for you! Also, the attitudes at this salon borders on cruel and sadistic! I went here today with a friend and got a spa mani-pedi. I was hesitant to go here based off the negative reviews I read but received a gift certificate as a gift so I figured it was worth a shot. I couldn't have been more pleased! Everyone was welcoming and nice and the entire salon was clean and neat. My manicure and pedicure were fabulous and I love the end result. Never felt rushed, they took their time to do a perfect job and using a credit card to leave a tip (I'd forgotten to take cash) was not a problem at all. If I could do less than 1 Star I would. Horrible service. A friend and myself went in on a Sunday evening for pedicures and I also got a mani with gel polish. Our pedicures were not completed and the gel manicure started peeling days later. During the pedicure it felt very rushed, our nails weren't cut, cuticles weren't done and massages lasted less than 15 seconds. My friends massage last a while but he rubbed her legs raw, literally raw she was in pain. Her toe nail polish chipped only 3 days later. So finally we got time to call and go back in. The owner said she will repaint only so i pressed the subject. She said to come in, 45 minutes later we go in at the time she tells us to and then she says we have to wait another 30-45 minutes. I was annoyed at that point and said no you told us to be here at this time we aren't waiting. So they take us back, and start arguing with us on how the pedicure wasn't done, I then stated I shouldn't have to keep explaining myself and that you can physically see the pedicure was not completed. After them being redone (not even a full redo, she cut my cuticles while they were dry and it was very very very painful which i stated) the polish is chipping again, after only 2 days. My gel polish was bubbled up, later on I noticed the way my pedicure was done- well, the polish wasn't great, spots were missed etc. The massage and everything else during the pedicure was nice though. The salon seems comfortable and clean, but is lacking in other aspects. I had a mani-pedi . Communication was somewhat difficult since it seemed that only one tech was able to speak English. Shortly after I left my manicure chipped. By day two it was ruined, I had to run out and buy remover to erase the damage. I will not return. read more

This was my second time there. Went with a girlfriend and got manicure and pedicure. The service received was under expectations.. You pay a little more for service b/c it is in Baxter. We had appointments and my girlfriend was finished with a mani/ pedi in 30 minutes. I think for the price you should feel it is luxury. Basic rub down and the manicure is done while you are sitting in the pedi chair. So you dip your fingers in a bowl for a little while, get cuticles cut, oiled then polish applied. Due to the oil applied on the nails our polish is yet to dry after 1 hour. Would not recommend unless you ask for no oil on nails. I have been a client here for several years. My pedicures easily last 3 weeks and I have solar nails. Jenny is an expert at solar nails and I always receive compliments. The store's hours are very convenient and they are very accomodating with appointments - even when I call at the last minute. Everyone is friendly and if you need extra attention in a problem area (such as ingrown nails), they are happy to help. You just have to tell them what you need. read more

i drove all the way from charlotte to fort mill just to get my nails done here, i paid $100 for a gel full set acrylics and quick pedicure (??????? not sure how a full set and a regular pedicure added up to $100 but besides the point) and i tipped them but i'd take that back if i could. the service was horrible, the lady kept getting up and leaving me sitting there half way through doing my nails, multiple times, did a shape i did NOT ask for and told me at the very end the shape was an extra $10..... and 3 days later and THREE of my nails have fallen off / broken in half. i will NEVER go back here. update to 5 days after getting my nails done here, over half of my nails on both of my hands have fallen off and broken in half, clearly the woman make them way too thin and didn't make sure they were glued on correctly in the very beginning, my nails shouldn't break while i'm doing laundry and loading. the dish washer..... i have tried to call the owner/manger 3 times now and no one has called me back. i will never recommend this place to anyone or EVER go bAck again. total waste of money. read more

I'm a fair reviewer, I really am, and I will give credit where credit is due. The postive: This place is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! They have disposable trays you put your feet in while you receive your pedicure, I felt very comfortable with the sanitation and cleanliness, it was outstanding. The negative: No matter how clean this place is and no matter how much i really WANTED to love it, at the end of the day it all comes down to the execution. THEY CAN'T DO NAILS! My acrylic nails were bumpy, wavy, and started lifting and acrylic was cracking and chipping away just 2 days after I had a full set put on in this nail salon. That was it for me. I went into this Salon to get a simple eyebrow wax. I stated to the lady that I was very nervous because when I was fifteen and in Highschool one of the salons had taken half of my eyebrow off. After questioning where I lived and frowning and making comments about where I lived ( York) my eyebrows were done. The woman said" I bet now you will be more comfortable getting your eyebrows done". I came home & not only did my husband notice, but my elementary aged child notice that my left eyebrow was plucked completely off in the middle. I am furious. I've been getting my nails and my daughter's nails done all summer biweekly. I do think their prices are really high, it's just been convenient for me. The quality of the work is just okay. I find that they don't normally get very close to the nail bed when I get gel on my nails which can be frustrating. Last week I went to the salon by myself and gave the girl her tip in cash. Which they push for so they don't have to report their tips to the government. I told her I'd be back later in the day after I picked my daughter up from daycare. She got her finger nails done and they told me it would be $7.00. She asked for cash, which I told her I only had $5 in cash and handed her my debit card. She began to converse with someone else and told me she'd have to charge me $10 to use my card. I agreed thinking she was going to take the $3 as her tip. When she gave me my receipt to sign she said "now I take $5 for tip". I told her the $3 that they charged me was her tip. She ended up telling me not to worry about tipping her. I own my own business and this is completely ridiculous. You can't charge a $3 up charge for using a debit card. The fees associated with using my card wouldn't have been more than .50. Needless to say, I'll be reporting them to VISA and will not ever go back again. No matter how convenient it is located. read more

I have been to Baxter Nails a dozen times because I live in the neighborhood. I continue to give them a chance simply because it is convenient. Regular manicure and pedicure are fine when you are short on time (although more expensive than other places for just ok work) but DO NOT get a gel manicure here. I have been to places in Charlotte that last a full two weeks - you will not get 7 days from their gel manicure. The price for a gel manicure is about $10 higher than most places and does not last longer than 7 days before the ends are peeling up and chipping off. I have had 6 or 7 gel manicures from them and it happens every time. Never again! read more

They rush you and do not have enough people working. While they do your pedicure, they do you manicure at the same time. Never seen that before. This was strictly O.K. When I walked in, I was frightened by the super loud and large wind chime on the door. The lady at the front barely opened her mouth to speak. And when she did talk, I could hardly hear her. I wanted a Pedicure and that was less than stellar. I was not offered a glass of wine or anything to drink as the website indicates. There was nothing spectacular about this place, the location, or the ambiance. I was shocked at how dirty the walls were. A gentleman did my pedi and it was alright. No one talked to me the entire time (sometimes they hold light conversation). I was not offered the massage control on my chair, and the guy left before he polished my toes to start on another customer. Another lady finished my polish and when she was done, just left me at the bowl. No escort to the other area to dry my toes. This was the most impersonal, dry, nail experience I ever had. What a wonderful serendipitous moment! This morning I found Kim and Kelly at Baxter Nails and Spa. I went in on a lark after having a terrible experience at another nail place in Fort Mill. I just relocated from CT and have had my nails done for 50 years, so I know what is good and what is not. I found the shop spotlessly clean, disposable liners for the pedi tub. (don't know if they wash and reuse them) The staff did a great job in both cases and I can't tell you how pleased I am. I really love this place. I requested a polish change, forgot I had broken a nail. I asked them nicely to please repair it. They flipped out and started talking a different language. Said I didn't say that when I came in. I contacted the salon about a Mother and Daughter mani/pedi for my daughter's 21st birthday. They told me how much it would be, and I decided to give them a try. I received no leg massage, the manicure was average at best, the young woman that I had never smiled or said more than two words. To top it off, when they gave me the bill, it was for two full priced mani/pedis - not the Mother and Daughter one they had quoted me. I have yet to actually get a manicure here. I sat down in the lobby one day around noon. Nobody came to greet me. The two people working looked up at me while they were helping other customers, but no greeting. I sat for about 15 minutes before leaving. Came back in after work, this time I was greeted but was told there would be a long wait. I needed to kill time so I asked "about how long?" The reply was "long." "Well exactly how long? I have some time to kill and don't mind waiting." Again the reply was simply "Long." So I left. Came back a few weeks later and had the exact same exchange with another employee. I guess the wait is just too long and they are just too busy for new customers. I could understand if closing time was approaching but it was not. I felt like I had no other choice but to leave and quite frankly was a little embarrassed by the exchange. These guys won't be getting a 4th chance from me. read more
