The spa music and the lounge chair did make for a quiet transition from my busy morning into peaceful relaxing mode. Afterwards, I enjoyed a bit of time in the relaxation room. For hot tea, each day they have both a caffeinated and a decaffeinated option. It was served on a cute tray with honey and sugar options. Last, my 90 minute massage. A choice of scalp massage or foot massage was offered and I opted for the foot massage without hesitation. I requested medium pressure and only asked once for a bit less pressure in a sensitive area of my lower back, and my therapist was quick to adjust. I chose the lavender blend massage oil and it smelled lovely. Special attention was paid to my shoulders where I carry most of my tension. Having booked only a couple of days in advance, I did make a deposit of 50% up front and was already within the cancellation window. If more than one service is confirmed, a 20% gratuity for each is automatically added but that was well explained up front and during check out. I noticed a list of monthly membership options during checkout and I'm actually considering joining. It was easy to get an appointment and very relaxing, though I'd probably skip the salt cave and go right to the massage or opt for a facial next time.

The management and staff aren't professional or accommodating. Very strange experience. Following up on Kristy's message here: Urbanna spa accepted a deposit for a rooftop spa appointment. The only reason I booked with Urbanna spa was for the rooftop experience. I intentionally booked on the first day of spring, the weather was 77° with sunny skies and they told me the rooftop was closed after I arrived and checked in. I asked to reschedule on a day the rooftop was open, but no staff could confirm when the rooftop would be open. Kristy (who was not present during my appointment) claims alternative options were offered. Just want to clarify that this is also not true. The only option they gave me tiny room I've attached. I was told management would follow up with a call after my service but Kristy's comment below is the only follow up I've ever received from Urbanna spa. This is not your traditional spa experience. If you're used to high end spa experiences, this will feel very low quality. I highly recommend Woodhouse or Spa At Ballantyne if you're looking for that high-quality experience. Just in Charlotte I've been to the Ballantyne Hotel Spa, Mood House, the JW Marriott, Day Break, Nature's Spa, Hand & Stone, Zen, Massage Envy etc. I know and crave a good deep tissue massage. At check-in I was told the "deep tissue" add-on only meant ~10 or 15 minutes (out of 80) of deeper pressure and the rest would be Swedish. Fine, but I had a Swedish just three weeks ago and I wouldn't have booked if I knew this was the case. However, I felt no pressure at all and the experience translated more to a $190 unscented body lotion experience, not a massage. Furthermore, the $15 eye rejuvenation add-on was one packet of eye masks I was told to use at home, which genuinely made me question - why? It's now $80 for the same massage/same time AND they just started charging fees to pay with a card....up to $5 depending on what massage you get. I really like one lady; I think she's the owner but there's another lady - the skinny one and she's AWFUL. Today I went in and she was on her phone DURING my massage! Leaving, texting, answering the phone should not be done while performing the service someone is paying for. My neck and arms were passed because she was too busy. The other lady I always see doesn't speak English and she only does feet in the front so every time a customer comes in the skinny one has to go help. I like that this place is relatively close to my house but it's time to just look for a new place to go. Don't go -- too expensive for the service you get. Rooms and bathroom are always clean and smells nice.

By the time she came back I was already about to cry.. she tried and I will say that she was good when she was present but there were so many interruptions that I couldn't get relaxed. I paid and left a $5 tip but I wish I hadn't. I wish I could have a place here since I'm new to rock hill, but for now, I think I'll try my luck in Charlotte.
