Very disappointed with my experience. I ordered a $67 German chocolate birthday cake with a fishing theme. The employee who assisted me at pickup seemed rushed and not very welcoming, which left me feeling hurried out the door before I had a chance to properly inspect the cake. When I got home, I was disappointed with the decorating quality. The fishing-themed design looked rushed, the writing was uneven, and the overall presentation did not look like what I would expect from a custom cake at this price point. After cutting into the cake, I found it to be dry and it left an unpleasant aftertaste. While the cake appeared to be the correct flavor, the quality and taste did not meet my expectations. I also reached out directly to the bakery in an attempt to resolve the issue before leaving a review. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I would have appreciated the opportunity to discuss my concerns and find a resolution, but my email went unanswered. For $67, I expected a much more polished cake, better quality, and better customer service. Based on my experience, I would not order from this bakery again read more

Went in there after seeing it from the road for a long time. Had 6 of the pastries to go and had them over the next few days. Strudel, Bismark, long john, etc. Very good and would try again. There is a sign for day old strudel for $5.50 but saw it too late to try. Would try it next time. read more

Bought the Bavarian Farmer's Rye bread at King Soopers In Thornton ,CO on 6/24/2026. It claims it is made with all natural ingredients. This bread is so bad you can not apply butter on it because it does disintegrates in your hands falling apart into small crumbs. We have been to Bavaria and ate their bread. Nothing compares to this bread from the Bavarian Bakery. EU standards will ban this product in Europe. It is an expensive local bakery scam via false advertising for a high priced product that in reality is garbage in quality. I would not feed their bread products to my dog, that's how bad their bread is ! Avoid their products. read more

I avoided this place for years based on bad reviews online, but on a whim decided to try it finally, for a doordash delivery of baked goods on a weekend morning. Unfortunately, the reviews were on point for this bakery. They tasted stale, and like a sad day in each bite. I was so disappointed in everything I ordered, and I ordered about 8 different pastries. From the danish, the "sausage roll" to the cinnamon roll to the croissants....it was such a tremendous let down and a waste of money. Nothing tasted fresh - I have had lots and lots of day of baked goods at many bakeries in my lifetime, its one of my favorite things to eat and none of this tasted good. I just don't recommend this place at all, ever. I will never go back, but look forward to the day when someone I know personally lets me know they had a good experience. read more

I've been coming to this location for over 25 years! This is the place for baklava cravings. Clean, quaint environment. Impeccable service as always! Thanks Bavarian Bakery, Longmont! Can't wait to try their new wood fired pizza. read more

Delicious pastries! I'm not a fan of crunchy cookies so I'll steer clear of the cookies next time, but the strudel is where it's at! I was hoping to try some breakfast burritos but their kitchen seems to be closed a lot. Having said that, there are quite a lot of delicious pastries to choose from. Enjoy! read more

The food is so good, those Kaiser rolls are so good, I'm addicted to them. When bread is as healthy as these Kaiser rolls, usually they don't taste good, but these ones taste incredible. Their service is great, fast, and the people working are so friendly. The environment is so great as well. Definitely recommend coming here, it's so worth it. Get yourself a bag of Kaiser rolls and make yourself a good sandwich, or get yourself one of their tasty treats and sit somewhere and drink a coffee. Everything they have is good and worth buying. I have nothing negative to say about this business. read more

Delicious pastries, friendly customer service, and reasonable prices! One of Longmont's best kept secrets - don't miss out!!

Bavarian Bakery offers a great alternative to bread that is available in the store. Quality ingredients and great taste. I look forward to trying their other items. read more

At this very moment I am eating a treat from the Bavarian Bakery. Not too bad. I can't say that I remember seeing a lot of this stuff in Bavaria but nonetheless our area needs bakeries like this quite desperately so I support their efforts. It would be nice to see a little more effort put into the ambiance of the establishment. Decent prices here. Now Eddie - the fellow that works there- what a gem he is! He really brightened our day. The service was amazing. I am glad to know this place exists. read more

We had a surprisingly wonderful lunch at Bavarian bakery And old World pizzeria in Longmont... Chelsea served us and she was outstanding and went overboard to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The pastries and the Mediterranean salad and a pizza we're all really really really good and it was a nice outdoor patio dining experience that we never expected... Highly recommend it! read more

We tried this bakery on a whim and let me say it was disgusting. We ordered an eclair and opened it up and there was MOLD! So we called the bakery and they said they would refund us but did NOT! We also bought some pastries and all three were hard, stale, and old. This place should not be in business. How about take pride in your business or shut it down! read more

I found this cute bakery on a whim and was looking for a cheesecake for my grandpas birthday. The worker (Issabelle) was so kind and pleasant and helped me order a cheesecake. I stopped by and tried a fresh piece of heaven. The pastries here are worth the stop. I was told that the restaurant is Italian, the Bakery is German and the customers are from everywhere. A true melting pot kind of place. Very happy I stopped and tried a little sweet bread with my coffee. read more

The Bavarian bakery is a modest nice restaurant/bakery. Got me and my wife coffee and shared one blueberry cream cheese pastry. I'm not German or any pro in European dishes. It was good and delish. I saw this place while in town for a bit and was pretty excited to have some fresh Bavarian pastries. I was a little disappointed at how they all looked, seemed all the rugula was burned, so I tried a few other things like the apple fritter, baklava, and blueberry streusel. Nothing seemed fresh, I'm guessing at least a few days old and the apple strudel and baklava were pretty bland, probably because they wasn't very fresh. I tried a few bites of the blueberry streusel and was not impressed either and threw all 3 of them out. Maybe they're not baking as often because of covid and they're not selling much on a daily basis, but I definitely will not be going back there. read more

Bavarian Bakery makes the absolute best Onion Rolls. My husband and I have one each morning for breakfast. Crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. We love them so much that because we live in the Cleveland, Ohio area, we have a standing order and have them shipped to us once each month. Treat yourself and enjoy the best rolls ever! read more

Love love love their Sunflower Whole Wheat bread- I make special trips across town just to buy that!!! Unfortunately, it sells out fairly fast, but if you ask, they often have some in the freezer. No German style rolls or bread, unfortunately (in spite of the name), but I imagine there isn't much demand for those around here. Their pastries are also good, though again, not German at all. Their wood-fired pizzas, however, are delicious, reminding me of some we had in Europe- not the normal "slathered with tons of cheese" type most restaurants around here serve. I wasn't crazy about their pasta, but the pizza is very, very good. read more

This place is great! Super fresh breads all around, and a great variety of sweets. Support your local bakery!

Yum. This place is definitely worth checking out if you are in Longmont! All kinds of danishes, strudels, and delicious flaky pastries. I am actually angry with myself that we haven't been going there since we moved to Longmont. They recently painted the sides of their building bright orange with BAKERY in huge letters and being the visual person I am, I had to check them out. So glad I did. They also have pies which I haven't tried yet but need to, and loaves of bread which I believe they said are both Kosher and organic. Head's up: They do not accept credit cards, but they do have an ATM right inside the shop. read more

Okay, I am going to preface this by saying I am not well-versed in German breads and pastries. But I think this place is just fantastic. Every time I go in the people are friendly. I have been buying their bread since I moved back to Colorado in 2008 and haven't found anything else that comes close in terms of flavor, simplicity of ingredients, and nutrition. I usually buy directly from the store to get a fresher loaf. I LOVE their pastries. I could eat one of their cheese danishes every day. The doughs are flaky and tender, the icings are not overly sweet or overly present, and the fruit and cheese fillings are delicious. Plus the prices can't be beat. Comparing these to other grocery stores and even Whole Foods, I'd say Bavarian definitely trumps the competition in the area. read more

OK maybe this place isn't authentic Bavarian, but I will not go ANYWHERE else in town for pastry. Seriously, to die for. The breads - meh. I'm not sure about their other offerings, but I will continue to gobble up their individual pastries and their strudels (FIVE flavors, people!) for as long as my pants still fit. Don't judge this place solely on the bread loaves (I've not been happy with those). Just get the pastry and I'll see you in Nirvana. read more

I really wanted to like this place. When I got there, a gentleman was touching up the painting of baked goods on the outside, and it was quiet. I decided to try rum balls, a macaroon, and baklava. The rum ball wasn't too rum-laden, though it was a bit mushy. I would have preferred a more cakey texture or something closer to gulab jamun, but it seemd undercooked. At least I didn't have to worry that my co-workers would think I'd had a few lunchtime cocktails. The macaroon, though also seemingly a bit undercooked, was better. It was cakier than the ones I get at Whole Foods, but it had enough coconut and was quite tasty. The baklava was my fave from this place. It was very gooey, but in a good caramelly way. The pastry was flaky, too. I'd try this place again, but I wouldn't recommend it without finding a true gem amongst their goods first. read more

Nothing in this place is Bavarian, from the tons American pastries (they looked pretty good), American style rye, and soft rolls. As someone who LOVES German brochen I was seriously disappointed. That being said, the raisin bread was pretty good, but not worth the $4 I paid for it and definitely not worth the trip to Longmont. read more

First the good stuff: Fast, friendly service, hot coffee, amazing pastries and bread. Now the bad: The decor is dreadfully dated and a little shabby. With the exception of a handful of lunch items, there's nothing "Barvarian" about the food. It's basically the same menu you'd get at any diner. I ordered the Eggs Benedict while my friend got the Wienerschnitzel Sandwich. Everything on my plate was lukewarm. The eggs should have been poached, but were instead completely cooked through like a hard boiled egg. The English muffins were barely toasted and the hashbrowns were the opposite of crispy. My friend's sandwich was better, with the meat crispy and hot, although his fries were as sad as my hashbrowns. Everything was "edible" but there are much better places in town to grab brunch or a sandwich. Clearly their specialty is baked goods and not breakfast/lunch! read more

Came here to get Kaiser rolls and apple turnovers. They were soooo good! We got to visit with the woman who is the baker and she was so sweet and made the visit wonderful! Will definitely be back. Take the time to stop here, it is well worth it! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible. Everything I bought was stale at 9:30 AM! Really awful. Don't waste your time.

Not a Bavarian Bakery Not a retail location worth visiting To sum it up, this place needs to change its name and completely do away with its "retail" space and focus on its wholesale bread business. I chose to check this place out after driving buy on many occasions and seeing that their loafs were available at the local King Soopers. Like other reviewers have stated this place is indeed NOT Bavarian in any sense of the word. They create standard American pastries along with the Baklava being the sole international item If you're looking for Bavarian items, continue the hunt If you're looking for pastries, your local grocery will suffice read more

I haven't been here in quite awhile...however I must say I only go in for the Napoleon pastries but every time I've went in they're gone... I think you have excellent desserts but unfortunately I only want one specifically and am a bit disappointed that there is none left when I make my trip down there.... If I could get a response and tell me the best time to come in, that would mean a lot to me :) I would love some fresh yummy Napoleon... Also, a few yrs ago my husband and I were told that the baker only makes the bread/pastries on Sundays and Monday mornings are the best time to get fresh bakery, is this true? If I could get a response and or come in to buy some, I will change my star rating... Thanks in Advance read more

We've driven by lots of times but never stopped in until today. We were just hoping for a couple of pastries to hold us over until dinner, but after seeing the full menu we decided to get a pizza to go, too. While waiting for our order, we chatted with staff and learned that they smoke their own meats, make their own pizza dough using 3 types of flour and that the baker is amazing! The pizza crust is delicious, crisp and tender, it is thin which I think compliments the fresh toppings beautifully. If you expect a thick doughy crust you will be disappointed- or maybe ask if the can do a thicker crust? Pastries were delicious and the service was prompt, friendly and informative. We really enjoyed the cream cheese variety. Definitely we will be back. read more

Although I'm always glad to have a local bakery, I wish this one tasted just a bit better. The selection is good, especially earlier in the day but the brownie was hard and the mini eclair was just ok. The cheese Danish sample was good. Prices are a bit high, but it depends on what you get and they do have day old bread on discount as well as gluten free foods. read more

I live in Pagosa Springs and became addicted to their rye breads! Sadly, I just found out the powers of City Market/King Soopers have decided to discontinue getting my favorite bread! Now I'm looking for a way to buy it on-line but can't seem to get their website open! I'm driving up to the front range soon and will be making a visit to the bakery!! Pretty sure I'll be buying myself a birthday cake there! read more

I bought one of their breads at King Soopers in Cheyenne. I am trying to eat healthier and this bread looked good. 100% stone ground whole wheat whole grain. The problem was, it just kept falling apart when I used it for sandwiches. I have never before seen any bread just break apart like this one. Every time I would take a bite large pieces of the bread just kept breaking off and splitting apart. Will not purchase this brand again! read more

Well, I am a native German and this is NOT what a German or Bavarian bakery looks like. The bread is not fresh. The pastries are not German or even European style. I went in there, was shocked and embarrassed. I got a pre-packed lame bread that was made by somebody else (as indicated on it's label), and the pastries were not German either. I am not sure if this so-called "master baker" got his degree and couldn't hold a job over there so he came here. PLEASE don't think that this is what a German bakery looks like or sells. It is not at all the case. German bakeries have a huge selection for great breads, mostly not just white bread, and the pastries are high quality as well even in the bakery chains. I am not saying to not buy here, just don't buy here and expect the high standards usually known in German bakeries. read more

We went in for the pizza. We ordered breadsticks which were like crackers. The pizza was literally dripping with grease. Frozen pizza taste better. Absolutely disappointing. read more

Wonderful pastries and strudels, good wheat & rye breads. They use organic flours. Cheese danishes are addictive.

I've been buying the Bavarian Farmer's Rye loaf at King Soopers for several years. It was a little pricey but very good. In the past three months we've been very disappointed. The price is the same but the quality has diminished. The consistency is not the same, and the crust tends to fall off the loaf and break very easily all the time. I'm sure the proportions of the ingredients have changed and not for the better. Unless it quickly improves, I will look for something different. Make it like it used to be, and I'll buy it again. read more
