Gosh, we love this place. Jennifer was super duper accommodating of my peculiar request and changing timeline. She agreed to let me bring in an edible cake-graphic printed over at King Soopers, which she placed on the top of the cake before she finished the decoration at the perimeter. She also agreed to make a gluten-free / dairy-free brownie look like a cake when other area bakeries weren't able to do so. Love's was clean and COVID cautious. Jennifer was the only baker in northern Colorado who got back to me in response to my craving for a coconut cupcake. The icing was indescribably delicious! My companion said the breakfast sandwich was one of the best he has ever had. Before we left, she gave us a free so-called chocolate 'mess' that she did not want to sell, and it was super good too! I ordered a personal size quiche. The young lady at the counter told me it would take time, as they heat things and not microwave. I was happy to accept that alternative.My quiche came with a bit of dark crust and was overheated, as it was very dry. It also had a very weird taste for a spinach and tomato. I ordered a galaxy cake to celebrate the completion of my PhD, as the theme relates to my dissertation topic. Morgan and the staff at Aime's Love did a FABULOUS job. It was a two-tier cake: dulce de leche with caramel creme on the top, tiramisu on the bottom. At the party, it was a BIG HIT; many of my non-celiac friends couldn't tell that it was an entirely gluten-free cake! As for my family and I, we have tasted many gluten-free pastries and cakes; this has to be easily one of the best. I really wish that we had ordered more! We went the other day to have lunch. My husband and I both ordered a sandwich. So in total we had two sandwiches, two cupcakes, one bag of chips and a pickle. We also just had a cup of water each to drink. We thought it was good. We ended up spending $55 for that. We thought it was a little overpriced. It's a sandwich... even if it's gluten free it shouldn't be that expensive. We definitely won't be going back for lunch or cupcakes. We noticed that they make a lot of specialty cakes. This pains me to give this review because I really do want to support a gf bakery... I ordered the classic breakfast sandwich which was $5 and some change... I was thinking, well that's not too bad really. I waited quite a long time but really didn't care, I'm easy going where that is concerned. The problem was when it showed up.... It was the smallest sandwich in the history of sandwiches... I've seen tea sandwiches that were bigger than this thing. It was maybe 3 inches by 3 inches... The 1 egg and half? piece of bacon actually hung off the edges of this sad little thing. As far as the cheese, they might have forgotten it, I honestly couldn't tell. Look, I get that you're a specialty store, but there is a reason that food served in this kind of industry is costed. $.18= 1 egg $.40= 1 piece of bacon $.10= cheese All of these numbers are a bit generous mind you for restaurant purchasing. At a 30% cost which is an industry standard, the bread for those 2 tiny little squares would have to come in at a cost of nearly $1.00.... So are these loaves of bread selling for $25-$30? Beyond all of this, I'm a large man and even normal breakfast portions are on the small side, so this was more than a bit rough. read more

I want to love Aimee's Love, but the problem is with consistency. I've had many delicious treats here- cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, but I've also had very dry, poor versions of these same treats. I can never be sure which ones I'm going to get. For example, a few weeks ago I had a delicious, fluffy pecan roll. Today, I got the pecan roll and it was about half the size and much drier, same price. It's hit or miss. read more

We got our baby first birthday smash cake and deserts here and can't recommend these ladies enough! Our baby is allergic to multiple things (gluten not one of them) and they were super accommodating in helping create a yummy dairy free carrot smash cake, as well as carrot cake cupcakes. They also helped us pick out about 6 of their most popular other treats to create a little desert bar. Despite the fact that no one was GF everyone thought everything was great. The icing on the carrot cake cupcakes was divine and people loved the lemon bars and the macaroons. The ladies nailed the colors on the cake to perfectly match our decorations. I am so sad to give them 1 star. I really wanted it to be 5 stars. I really did. I have eaten here 4 times now, and every time it was disgusting. I kept trying because I believe in giving places a chance to redeem themselves. Here are the reasons I do not care for this place. 1. Ridiculous prices. It is way too expensive, even for GF. 2. The bread is disgusting. It is heavy and dense. The "sandwich" bread is small and really eggy...and the focaccia is like eating a dense biscuit. I can get really good GF bread at the store for way less. My two faves are "Outside the Bread box" and "Canyon Bakehouse." Both are local. 3. The sweets are not sweet....the sugar cookies and the cupcakes were actually horrible. Why?? I don't know. I make cakes and cookies that are GF at home and they are really good. They would be better off to use a King Arthur or Pamela's mix. 4. Everything has an odd flavor. Everything. Some things taste burned, and everything has some strange seasoning or something. Even my coffee tasted terrible. 5. It smells horrible when you walk in the store. Every time. It doesn't smell like baked cookies or bread...it smells odd.... 6. The cakes are pretty, but are very heavy. I get the feeling they are not adjusting for altitude and need to do some work on their chemistry. GF is not an easy science, and there are specific blends that work well. 7. They take FOREVER to complete an order. 3 times I have ordered sandwiches and waited between 30 to 45 min and have been the only one in the store. As someone who only eats GF, I am very disappointed to say I cannot continue to support this business. I hope they can take a good look at this review and evaluate some of the items. If you have any dietary restriction beyond gluten, BEWARE. Morgan and her staff assured me multiple times it would be no problem to create a soy free, gluten free cake for our wedding. We were told which options would be available and had our tasting. I should have known better when we arrived to our tasting and one of the options had to be taken off the plate because she forgot about my soy allergy. On our wedding day, our cake looked gorgeous! But our wedding day was quickly ruined when my wedding coordinator informed me that Morgan called to inform her that our cake was not made with all allergies in mind and contained soy. Thank you, Aime's Love for taking the cake experience away from me and my husband. I wasn't able to touch my cake, let alone cut and enjoy it. The issue was corrected with a full refund, an apology, and an offer to make other items at no cost to us, but I will never regain that experience as a bride. Looking back, I'm not convinced our tasting was soy free as I had a reaction shortly after. Never again will I purchase anything from your company! I caution anyone with severe allergies when considering this company, especially if it's for an important event. read more

This is the most amazing bakery. They are gluten free!! I was never a fan of gluten free. Then I tried this place. I am a total convert! I absolutely love their carrot cake . That's just my favorite, everything else I've tried is also great! If you have a special occasion and want a absolutely awesome, perfect cake they'll make it for you. Aime's has been nothing but good. I love their chocolate cover bacon, eclairs, coffee cake style muffin tops are to die for. My birthday was once on Easter. I was newly gluten free and my husband ordered from someone else a regular cake. He was frantic to get me a GF cake. He called Aime's but they were closed for Easter. Once they heard his message on their voicemail, they came from their house and opened up especially for him to pick up a gluten free cake for me. I will never forget how wonderful that was. I am a big fan of this bakery. It's also a great opportunity to support a local business owned by 2 women who are passionate about creating great products for the community. Aime's Love offers a welcoming space for conversation or to use the free Wifi while enjoying a latte and muffin. While I'm not gluten-free, I can appreciate all the offerings that this place has for individuals with allergies. There is a wide variety of breads and desserts, as well as breakfast & lunch options. The bread breaks apart easily so I use utensils to enjoy the sandwiches. The main specialty here is dessert. I love the cinnamon buns, lemon bars, macaroons, and carrot cake cupcakes! Now there is an option for "take & bake" so you can actually freeze desserts and bake them off fresh when you want. Great idea!! The main baker Morgan is very creative, and when it comes to cake designs, she can create anything upon request. Yes, this comes at a cost, but please consider how much labor goes into designing the intricate details of a cake. Compare that to the cost of "making" a simple cup of coffee at Starbucks. Or how much more love you'll get out of it than a templated cake from a grocery store. I recently spoke with one of the owners, and she said that her goal is to continue to make improvements in an effort to satisfy customers. This is my first review of a GF place. I am not gluten free so considering my love of bread and all things fluffy, airy and bready I am reviewing based on my GF experience and expectation. With that said, my expectation of GF baked goods prior to my visit to this darling little bakery was very low. The breakfast sandwiches are terrific. The coffee was hot, fresh and tasty. The cinnamon rolls, dense and rich with a delicious balance of cinnamon and sugar. Then the true test... the treats I took home to my three little bears. An Oreo cookie type bar- 12 year old reported that this was a rich, chocolatey, cream cheesey bar that was big enough for two servings. The whoopie pie- 9 year old reported, this whipped cream is sooo good and sweet and the chocolate cake is yummy not a single crumb left (I have no idea where it all went the thing was the size of a baseball) The mint chocolate brownie-4 year old review...oh my gosh mom this thingy is so yummy and I love the green minty frosting! The service was superb and the owners are two very rad women!! I look forward to visiting this bakery again and picking out more treats for the three bears. read more

Though I have had excellent experiences in the past with Aimee's cakes, I have discovered that you do NOT want to purchase cupcakes on Saturday. I bought cupcakes for a small dinner party and they were horrible! Really inedible. They tasted so old -- like licking the inside of a refrigerator. Best GF bakery! A lot of GF bakeries are also vegan, Aime's is not and their products are phenomenal. I love their GF bagels, they're pretty close to the texture of a "real" bagel, the price is a little steep at $3+ each but worth it as an occasional treat. Cupcakes are great! I have been gluten-free for six years. I say that because it is important that people know I have significant experience eating gluten-free food exclusively. When I first started eating gluten-free there were very few quality products on the market. Over the last couple of years, gluten-free has become increasingly popular and as a result the number of good products have exploded. My husband and I were very excited when we found out about this place opening. We figured if a place that was entirely gluten-free was expecting to survive in the market, they would have to have truly exceptional products because non-gluten-free people would need to want to eat there as well. Unfortunately, these products are not good. I will start with the good. The place is cute and the customer service is excellent. Everyone working there was incredibly helpful and kind. They took the time to explain all the products they offered and made sure we knew upfront that everything was gluten-free. My husband and I picked out a wide selection of things to try. Those products ranged from ok to inedible. Visually the products did not look like they were made by a professional pastry chef. Everything looked like it was made by an amateur baker with very little experience. This could be overlooked if the products were delicious but they were far from it. Here is what we tried from best to worst: 1. Peanut Butter Cookie: Definitely the best thing. The outsides were dry and crumbly but most of the cookie was chewy and pretty tasty. There was a faint taste of cinnamon which was a little strange for a classic cookie flavor. 2. Chocolate Cream Cheese Brownie: This was also pretty good. Very rich. Brownie was a fudge like consistency. My guess is that it is flourless which would explain the higher quality and taste 3. Chocolate Chip Cookie: Ok. I tried a bite. My husband ate the whole thing so it wasn't terrible. A lot of chocolate chips. The dough part was very crumbly and lacked flavor. The gluten-free chocolate chip cookies I make at home are at least 100% better. They are regularly enjoyed by gluten eaters with many compliments 4. Cream Puff: Lacked flavor. Puff part was on the thick side. 5. Milk Dunker (Oreo alternative): Cookie was very crumbly but not in the same way that an Oreo is. Filling is very greasy. Did not finish. 6. Lemon Bar: No lemon flavor at all. Just overly sweet and greasy tasting. Ate a couple of bites and threw out the rest. 7. Whoopie Pie: Cake part was very dry, hard, and also crumbly. The filling had very little flavor. Threw out after taking one bite. We did not try the cupcakes or the cakes. The key to successful gluten-free baking is the right flour blend. It is clear that this company has not done the research to find the right blend of flour to use. While I applaud them for the idea of an entirely gluten-free bakery, this has not been well executed. The products are on par with what you would have found 5 years ago, which is just no longer acceptable. If this company expects to survive in a gluten-free savvy marketplace like Boulder County Colorado, they are really going to have to take a step back and completely revamp the gluten-free flour blend they are using. I really hate to be mean but this place is just terrible. There are much better products available at Natural Grocers and Lucky's. I wish I could give 1/2 a star. The pie I tried was expensive and absolutely disgusting. There are other gluten free bakeries where you have to try and guess that it is actually gluten free. These were so obviously gluten free. I could not even taste fruit in the pie- I tasted old feet. It was disgusting. I am not sure about the rest of their treats, but the pie I had was disgusting. I'm so happy this gluten-free cafe opened in my home town! I love how passionate the owners are about what they do, and the presentation of their treats is delicious. I come in mainly for their chocolate chip cookies, which are really large (!!) and are predictably delicious. I also found their unbaked donuts, which are a tasty blend of cinnamon and sugar. :) I'm looking forward to being adventurous and trying their cupcakes, which are prettily, and uniquely decorated. The only reason why this isn't a 5 star review, is I wish they'd have low-sugar treats. I thought Aime's gluten free bakery had something to offer those of us who need to eat gluten free. She has some lovely and delicious cupcakes and sweets. However, the hamburger/hotdog buns and steak rolls are ridiculously overpriced. I foolishly paid 12.99 for 6. That is not a typo. There is nothing especially good about them either. I was angry they had the nerve to charge so much but I'm new to gluten free and didn't know I could get better ones for less than half the price at Target in their gluten free bread offerings and probably King Soopers. Shame on you Aimi! I won't shop there again for anything now, I feel like I've been fleeced! Less than one star if I could! read more
