I wasn't planning on writing a review for this business but I got to thinking about this one employee that works here at this Batteries Plus Bulbs. Originally it was called Batteries Plus, and a while back it changed its name. The only reason I bring up this particular employee is he has been working here for a long time. I don't know his name and have never asked for his name either. I will give you on example of what I noticed today and it caught my attention. Now mind you I had to replace a battery of a vintage watch from the 50's or 60's. I handed over the battery to the employee at the counter. He looks at the battery and was unsure of the particular battery that was in stock, so he asked his colleague behind the other counter, if they carried this one particular battery. So without looking he shouts out the number of the battery that replaces it without having to see the battery. Now why do I mention this? To be honest I was impressed with this employee's knowledge of their products. I know this sounds silly to notice something that is trivial to others but to me it makes a big difference. I come here only because if I try and look for what I need at a drugstore chances are they won't have it and it's always a hit and miss at the drugstores. So I may pay a little bit more here, they have always had what I need. What I am trying to relay here is that during these troubling times of finding good employees it is always a breath of fresh air to see someone care about their job and know their job as well as the unknown name person behind the hidden counter. Doesn't hurt to once in a while appreciate people for what they do. Nothing is trivial when noticing a good work employee. read more

I had an old Black Decker screwdriver and a drill no longer charging at all. I think it has dead batteries. The Tech tested and quoted $25 to replace them. Ouch! I guess it's time to go shopping for new tools. I didn't know that Batteries Plus do so much than just stocking batteries and bulbs. I scheduled a battery replacement for an IPad 6 at 67th and Bell. They called and said they did not have the part but the 3415 W. Glendale store did. Now understand that the Web site says same day service and one that I read said while you wait. I admit I listed the wrong generation IPad when I scheduled but they called me and I explained it was a gen 6 and not what I listed originally. They checked while I am on the phone and confirm they have that battery. They call me twice several days later saying they don't have the battery for the first one I listed. I explain it again, twice. Oh yeah we have that battery. I now drive 20 miles one way because the closest store doesn't have that battery and when I get to the Glendale Ave store and am told "oh no not while you wait, or even same day". It takes 4-5 hours to replace and you'll have to come back. Could that have been explained when the found out what IPad it was? Probably not because they could not get that correct with three phone calls. Pretty screwed up service. read more

This place is great. I was there yesterday with a boise wireless speaker that needed a battery. This is after going to Asurion where they told me it would cost more to replace the battery than buying a new speaker. The gentleman dismantled it and soldered in a replacement battery. They have the parts and dont mind spending the time to solve the problem. I have gone there for auto batteries as well which are better quality than most auto parts stores. I went to Batteries Plus for a replacement Samsung cell phone screen. They did no quote me a price when I dropped off my phone. The only store that had the part was 15 miles away from the first store I checked. Went to the 3415 W Glendale store, they said it would take 1-2 hours. 2/12 hours later, I returned and had to wait another 15 minutes for the phone to be ready. They gave me back my phone in the protective case. They gave me the phone, charged me $250 + tax, which I paid was a surprise at the cost. I went home, once home, I tried to call but the phone said it did not have a sim card. I called the store, and the store tech said, sorry, I forgot to put the sim card back in. The tech and the store server, both had the phone out of the case and neither noticed that the sim sleeve(more than 1/2 inch long) was not in the phone. They obviously did not try to do a test call as that would have immediately highlighted the problem. I had to pick up my grandkids at school, so I could not drive down immediately to get the phone properly assembled. After I picked up my grandkids, it took me 30 minutes through traffic to get to the store and another 40 to get back home. The store clerk said, yah sorry about that! I asked him why the cell phone was not tested and he said they don't normally do that but they did do a test call before they started working on it. I told him, this was not acceptable service and the repair process should have had a checklist to verify everything is back together and working. I told him it was very disruptive to my day and cost me 1 &1/2 hours of my time plus 30 miles of gas for their mistake. Would he do anything about the $250+ bill and make any adjustment for their screwup. No was all he said. These guys are incompetent and do not have a good process to ensure you are going to get good work from them. Find another provider for phone repairs. read more

I dropped my phone and the screen had spiderwebbed cracks. First time this ever happened to me. Started thinking of where I could get this fixed fast, and remembered seeing a sign saying Batteries Plus fixes phones. It is literally 5 minutes from my home. Went in and showed them the phone. They said they could fix it and have it back to me in an hour, maybe less. And when they told me the price I just said do it. And as they said in about 45 minutes I got the call it was ready. The phone screen looked like new and works perfectly. I am so impressed with how professional they were and friendly. Shopped the usual auto parts stores online for a new battery for my truck. I've made in-store purchase with Batteries Plus previously and it was good experience but hadn't purchased anything online. So I placed the order and got an email confirmation that the order was ready for pick up at the to the nearest store on Glendale Avenue. They were super helpful and friendly. My new battery was ready to go and they loaded it in my car for me too. I also need a new iPhone charger cord and Bill found just what I needed. I needed a replacement battery for my laptop. I had it at computer repair place and it was cheaper for me to go get the battery. I had called ahead and they put aside and it was ready when I got there. I'm an old lady and use a walker and was having problems getting my walker in my car because the door I usually use to put in in the back seat was giving me problems. They had the batteries I needed and even installed them in key fobs for my car. Prices were good. Clerk behind the cash register was friendly and knowledgeable. The person at the cash register seemed to be the person in charge of locating items, answering questions and installing batteries. I had to wait while the person ahead of me had batteries installed. The customers behind me had to wait while I had batteries installed. There was a second clerk, behind another counter and within five feet of the cash register, who seemed to be very good at ignoring the whole process. The person behind the cash register was great. Just had a horrible experience with this location. I have always gone to the 38th St. & Thomas Store and have received five star service. Yesterday they didn't have the GoGo Scooter Batteries I needed, but the 35th Ave & Glendale store did. I drove to that location and was the only customer and the person on duty was a heavy set Hispanic young man. The two batteries I need to replace were very heavy and he was happy to let me carry one of them into the store by myself. I am 63 years old female, not a youngster. He didn't feel that I need to bring them in, but I needed the leads to be removed and placed on the new batteries. I, also, wanted the old batteries to be recycled. He was not happy with having to do the work and when he finished, he rung up my bill, I paid, then he walked into the back, leaving me to carry the batteries back to my car. A customer helped me with the door. NEVER NEVER will I go back to this location and cannot recommend it to anyone that might need a little service. A thinner white man was being very helpful to the other customers. I will be finding out who the owner of this business and contacting him directly. read more

I really enjoy batteries plus. I have been able to get any battery I need there and have often referred friends there. Their warranties are great! My battery was close to dying right around the warranty mark because of the brutal summer heat and they replaced it absolutely for free! While I waited I also enjoyed looking at some of the cool gift ideas, like their flashlights and other electronic knickknacks I always seem to need. read more

We attended this battery plus store that's on Glendale and 35th Ave. we spent over $100 for this one battery the first time the battery failed twice we had to bring it back when we brought it back and told him that it was not right the third time the owner got an attitude with us, and then told us this is the last time I will replace his battery although we spent over $100 for a mobility battery this place if you are looking to Purchase a battery stay away. I got a good battery with a good warranty. Not much places to park because there are a lot of business in this place.
