I would only go here as a last resort when I need to have a battery for something critical right away because they do charge steep markup for the convenience of having something in stock. In my case I needed a battery for an older cell phone for a senior and when I checked online, Walmart had the original Samsung battery for $12 and they had their Duracell which turned out to have 400 mAh less capacity for $37. At least Duracell is a known brand. The phone itself isn't even worth $37 but the old guy is used to the phone and so I got it and thanked them for it. If it were me, for anything else, I'd find an alternative. Also, I don't appreciate how much personal information they need just to ring me up...name, phone number, email address...come on, how did that work out for Radio Shack? read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD! CUSTOMERS PLEASE BEWARE!!!!!!!!! This place is a scam! Initially, I dealt with Steven Lozano, who sold me a used battery off the shelf that was supposed to be new. LIES!!!! I knew something was wrong when he stated, "If you return the battery, it must be free of scratches and like new." Got the battery home plugged it in, and it would not work. Brought the battery back the very next day to the same Battery Plus store and was told they would not exchange it because it did not have 12 volt remaining when Diego Gonzalez tested and checked the charge Diego went on to say that every battery is tested before purchases are complete. Well, that also is a HUGE LIE as well. Just as I began to explain that Steven Lozano, who sold me the battery the day prior, never checked the battery before I purchased it. While speaking to Diego, Steven comes out from the back room to say I was trying to get over. This statement by Steven was completely unprofessional and unwarranted. Steven admitted He never checked the battery that was purchased the day prior before selling it. I asked, "How can this be someone trying to get over? If only the thing we asked for was an exchange for a fully functioning battery. We asked them to call the manager and they wouldn't they?They said the only thing that they could do was to try to charge the battery so we waited for them to. Once they brought the battery back out after it being charged for about an hour, the battery that was purchased the day prior would not hold a charge. At that point is when the Diego called the manager Joanne Guzman and asked if he could exchange the battery. Which she allowed. During the entire ordeal, we tried to get in touch with Joanne Guzman, the store manager, because, on her business card, her cell phone number is listed however, she will not answer the phone. What is the purpose of listing your cell phone number on your business card if you do NOT answer? Again, poor business practices I would NOT recommend this battery plus!!!! The employees have poor to NO customer service skills at all. Additionally, they do not know how to treat customers. I was able to drive less than five minutes away and buy the batteries at CVS.....that I was told were some sort of special order item and that the number didn't exist. I went for years to the Beechnut location and had many "life time" warranties. I asked the East Freeway location to honor my warranty but they refused since the Beechnut location is apparently closed either temporarily or permanently. Very poor customer service!!! Purchased a USB- C cable to find out that isn't working. Tried different options and I was able to get it charge with movement on the cable tip. Tried to return or exchange, and the associate Milton said it's working on his phone, so it's not the cable it's your device ‍ really?! Do you think I don't have better things to do of it was working for my device.. oh and apparently they have a 14 days return policy that it's nowhere on the receipt. Anyway, $20 for a cable that doesn't work and bad customer service... I know where I'm not bringing my business again Update! First deal I'm offered from him to change it, is $22 each with lifetime guarantee. At 70+, does not seem too economical. When I asked him how much just the battery was, he said about $9 each. I go in with two remotes and ask her to check the batteries and replace them if they're dead She pops the remotes open with her thumb, tests the batteries and replaces them. I gave her a fifty, but the $40 price seemed way way high. I ask why so much? She tells me both batteries were $14, but she charged me their $26 service charge for testing them. I purchased a plan a few years ago (at the recommendation of the Batteries Plus employee) where my car remote battery would be replaced for free whenever it died. Well it died and I went in for a replacement...after replacing the battery the person working there said they could 'no longer honor the replacement plan' because my remote was 'flimsy'...even after the person struggled to change the battery and most likely did not know what they were doing. I am pretty sure they are trying to wiggle out of the agreement because they have gone up significantly on car remote battery replacement prices and now it is not beneficial for them. My credit card was charged $113.11 when the online purchase made, with a credit ($10.00) to be received when the original battery core was provided to the store. A couple of days later I picked up the new battery at the store and provided the core (original battery). Was then provided a receipt for $102.29 and told the difference (battery core credit) would be credited to my credit card. After 7 days the credit was not received. Purchased two batteries for my mobility scooter. Used the scooter while on vacation and the batteries died in less than a mile. They normally last over six miles. Had to be pushed back to my hotel. After i returned home i took the batteries back to the store. They tested them and said they were "OK". Charged and tried using the scooter and they died again. Went back to the store and after a lot of complaining they replaced them. Fast forward about six weeks and the new batteries are doing the same thing. Went back to store and they said they again tested good. I had a service rep from the scooter manufacturer check the unit and found nothing wrong with it. I tested them on my own load tester and they showed as weak. The store said they could only use their tester. Asked them to disclose the date code on the batteries and they said they couldn't. As an aside, i called Duracell (the brand of battery) and was told that Duracell doesn't make those batteries, they armade by a third party for Batteries Plus. I requested either replacements or a refund from both the store and Corporate and was refused. No warranty coverage and no refund for unsatisfactory product. They have lost my business. Buyer beware! Update: I was contacted by the Corporate office and explained what transpired with the batteries. Ted listened and came up with a plan to furnish pre-tested batteries for me. I went to JC Penneys at Meyerland and they do not replace watch batteries but told me about Batteries Plus Bulbs across the street. I ventured over there. $17.99 for watch battery with lifetime warranty. Outrageous pricing and I don't plan to wear the same watch for the rest of my life. Went in for at 10:15am for an iPhone batter change . . . supposed to take 30 minutes. 4 hours later, and four round trips over there, they had broken the screen, then repaired it (charged me for the part), and then the volume buttons didn't work. I took my watch in to replace the battery. I was one of two customers in the store at the time and there were no other people waiting to be served I told the male employee why I was there. He turned to the female employee to ask if he could change out the battery and she said NO. I asked why not and she told me there were two tropical storms coming into the Gulf of Mexico and they were busy I pointed out I had one watch, I was one of two customers in the store, no one else was waiting for service and it was at least 2-3 days till any storm would become a threat so what was the problem. Neither had any explanation and decided to replace the battery The man ALLEGEDLY replaced the battery, said no charge, handed me the watch, I left the store, the watch is still not working. Management of this store needs to teach the young man working the counter basic rules of customer service. He was rude and challenged every statement and question I had about batteries I needed for my UPS. End result was he sold me the wrong battery. I brought the original batteries to their store to make sure I got the right ones. Woo! My watch's battery died a couple months ago and I've been neglected to go change it. I stopped by today with another friend who also needed their battery changed and was serviced quickly. Changing out the battery on my watch couldn't have been any easier. It was also priced really reasonably at 8.99. FIND SOME WHERE ELSE! ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!! Do it yourself even!!! Brought my perfectly working iPhone7+ in for repair because the screen had cracked and I was worried it would cut my ear. This is how it went: FIRST ATTEMPT: They replaced it with a sub standard NON APPLE screen that costs like 8 bucks (standard protocol). I come to pick it up and notice imidiately that the speaker is not working at all. So, while I watch them, they make the SECOND ATTEMPT: the phone is reopened and first thing we (the 2nd repair person and myself) notice is the 'extra' screw just rolling around free inside. Then we notice FOUR other screws (that hold the screen on) completely missing. He pulls out A SECONF bs replacement screen and tries putting it in. I'm told something along the lines of "if it doesn't work now, we will replace the phone, it happens all the time". They put the phone back together under my close scrutiny, and try to power it back up to no avail. Keep in mind this phone had never been worked on prior. After one more opening, fiddling around and closing it back up it reluctantly powered up and the speaker worked again. For now. THIRD ATTEMPT: fast toward 4 weeks and now my speaker is out again. I take it back in and am told to take it to appple to have it diagnosed. Ok. I do. Apple said it's a fried sound chip. The phone needs to be replaced entirely. I brought that info back to Bulbs+ and they say flat out "well that's just wrong, and we don't just replace phones". What they were willing to do was to open it back up and replace the only two other parts they could find in the replacement price menu. Neither of wich were identified as being the problem by apple. Not to mention they were going to have TO CHARGE ME FOR THE ADDITIONAL REPAIRS!!!! I declined, went to corporate who was almost even less of a help. MORAL OF THE STORY: these kids have ZERO TRAINING REPAIRING PHONES. THEY WATCH YOUTUBE VIDS ON THE FLY. THEY ARE IN NO WAY CERTIFIED ESPECIALLY BY APPLE, OR ANY OTHER STANDARD, TO PREFORM REPAIRS. AND WHEN THEY BREAK A PHONE, THEIR ONLY REMEDY IS TO LET THEM FIDDLE WITH IT A LITTLE MORE. IF U LET THEM REPAIR YOUR IPHONE, IT WILL COMPLETELY VOID ANY WARRANTY WITH APPLE SINCE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE BELOW SUB STANDARD AND THEY ARENT CERT OR TRAINED TO PREFORM REPAIRS IN THE FIRST PLACE. read more

DO NOT try to replace an iPhone screen with this company! They broke my phone and Apple told me it was irreparable. My experience went like this: I took my phone in to replace the screen, and I let them know that I was was skeptical of an aftermarket screen as I have had one before that didn't work properly. They assured me that if I wasn't 100% happy, I would get a full refund (the work was warrantied for 60 days). So when I go back to pick up my phone after the repair, I let them know I was not satisfied with the way the screen looked. It was a weird greenish hue and dark (you have turn the screen all the way up and then you still can't see it outside with sunglasses), and there was a fingerprint (hotspot?) on the screen where it looks like it was damaged by the pressure of someone's finger. So the employee told me that he would see about getting some new screens in- he thought maybe this was a bad batch. I was asked to check back on about 3 days. I waited a week as I was out of town and then I called to see if more screens had arrived and I was told that they had. However, when I arrived to replace my existing screen, they seemed confused. The first employee did not communicate my issue to this person (apparently a manager). This person let me know that the new screens will look the same as the one that I had so there was no point to replacing it with the ones they had on hand. He then made a note to order an "Apple screen" and said he would call me when this came in. I waited another week and had not heard back so I called back again. When the "manager" (another one apparently- this one named Oscar) answered my call he insisted that they don't order Apple screens and that he had no idea what I was talking about. He told me to bring the phone in and he would check it out. When I brought it in a few minutes later he flatly told me he thought nothing was wrong with it and that he would not refund my money. I repeatedly explained to him how it looked terrible, was dark and ran my battery out because it had to be turned up all the way, had a bright spot on it from someone's fingerprint, and had some touch screen responsiveness issues. He just outright disagreed. Rudely. After arguing back and forth, he eventually let me speak to the district manager, who explained that this was a know issue (WHAT!?), but refused to offer me a full refund. He would only replace the screen with another different type of screen. I told them I did not trust them at this point and just wanted my money back. I got only 50% back in the end. AND here's the kicker. Within another week my phone screen completely stopped working. It flashed a few times and then went black. When I took it to Apple they told me that Batteries Plus stripped the screws inside and there was nothing they could do to fix the problem. So I ended up having to BUY A NEW PHONE! Probably the worst workmanship and service I have ever experienced. I think it's only a matter of time before these places are out of business. read more

On 1/15/19, once I received my email confirmation and arrived there and they (Oscar, Mgr. and Ted, District Mgr.) were very professional from the beginning to the moment they asked me to crank my car to see if everything checked out. I thought I found a good deal in a car battery. Ordered online with store pickup to get an extra 10% off, so all looked good to get an easy job done in less than an hour. However, don't believe what you see online about their inventory. I come to find out that it was not available and that I had to wait hours before they retrieve one from another location. And, it's apparently not easy to simply pick up from another location once your purchase is locked into one store. Having to call the store twice and being put on hold for over 20 minutes (both times and hung up to call back) only added more frustration to what should have been simple purchase. When visiting the store, the staff can be nice and helpful. When ordering a product online, however, buyer beware. The online system works well in accepting your order, taking your money, and choosing a convenient store location. This is where the ease of purchase ends. The individual franchised store (according to this location) must acknowledge the order whether or not they have it in stock. Once they acknowledge the order, you receive an email that your item is ready for pick up. You should also receive a phone call letting you know they don't have it and what they will do to get your product. Depending on how well they communicate and what they are willing to do, you might wait days or weeks. Apparently, this is an inconvenience to them based on my past experience. If they have to order the product, they don't tell you that there is a restocking fee if you decide to either cancel the order or return it. They take no responsibility to tell you this up front. When I contacted them a week later about a status on the order and found that it could take another week or two, I wanted to cancel the order and then learned that I would have to pay the restocking fee. According to the franchise owner, Joanna, you are supposed to know this because it was a 'special' order. After arguing the point and contacting BPB's corporate office, I learned that it was not yet shipped so I did not have to pay the restocking fee. In my opinion, this location does a poor job in communicating and lacks customer service skills. I had an issue previously with another online order and thought to give them a second chance. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Their corporate support will basically say, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" without acknowledging the issues. I don't see myself returning and doing business with them again anytime soon. Or, doing business with Batteries Plus Bulbs again. read more
