As far as ice cream parlors go, Moo's is legendary amongst Derrians (not sure if that's a term…read moreused, but I'm going with it) for their high quality, damn near luxurious style of frozen pastries. If I could describe Moo's in only two words, they would be: quality control. Funnily enough, I rarely go here. In fact, I haven't had the Peanut Butter Cup ice cream in YEARS! I had nearly forgotten how smooth and creamy their ice cream is. The way they can make vanilla ice cream also taste peanut buttery is a feat familiar only to magicians and wizards. In other words, their stuff is just THAT good! Ultimately, I'm glad wifey talked me into coming back here on a whim. It's just that I'm hardly ever in the mood for dessert of any kind. But every once in a while....I get a sweet tooth for something with peanut butter in it. And now that my taste buds have been reminded of the elegance this ice cream effortlessly carries, I think I can manage to find an excuse to come here slightly more often. Only problem is they're mainly open during the warmer months. But....I totally get why. It's just a shame I failed to take a pic of the ice cream, since I was too lost in the abyss of ecstasy that was my sweet treat. Besides, I didn't want it to melt. Ah, well. Might remember next time. One last caveat: they don't really have their own parking lot. So, you just kinda....pull into one of the adjacent lots on either side of the place and hope you find a spot. Mildly dubious parking aside, I'm gonna give Moo's Place in Derry 5 Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cups smoother than a Milky Way out of 5.

But I decided that I can give my opinion of the management of Mr. Steer. They are the rudest, most unhelpul people that you can imagine. Not every employee but I am specifically talking about the owner/manager, his son behind the meat counter, occasionally the check-out clerk and even sometimes the deli counter person. I live within a mile of the store and have been here many times. I'll admit that they do have great meat and prepared foods. But it's not worth the abuse that you get from the above named employees, I went there a couple of Sundays ago and went into the store at 3:50, ten minutes before closing, to just pick up some steak tips for grilling. I immediately got some hated looks. They had already taken all of the meat out of the meat cases and the manager was replacing the butcher paper that lines the bottom of the case. I wanted to see what they had but all they could say was "What do you want?" I said that I wanted to see the tips they had, and all he said was "Well, what do you want"? I walked out never to return. I don't know how they stay in business when they treat their customers like that!

The cupcakes met with mixed reviews in our group, with the general consensus being that they were nothing special. One taster described the frosting as "gritty." My biggest complaint is the price and value for money -- at $3.25 I expect a jumbo-sized cupcake; instead, they were pretty small, the same size you'd get if you made your own at home. As alternatives, I recommend Shabby Chic in Windham, and Queen City Cupcakes in Manchester.

This is the first time we have had to throw away cupcakes since they were so dry, crumbling apart. No one wanted the extra. We have brought Cupcakes from their competitors Queen City Cupcakes and Cupcakes 101 and would suggest you go to one of them before you go to Kate & Graces -- sorry girls they cake recipe needs some revamping maybe some apple sauce for moisture or oil. Cupcakes 101 is our favorite and worth the extra rive time for us...make sure you try their rolo, or chocolate chocolate :) I really was hoping that we'd like the cupcakes since we live in the area and Derry Main st could have used the increased traffic a good cupcake place could bring.
