Had the most amazing cake pops for a baby shower. The owner was lovely to work with and no one was disappointed. She created 4 dozen beautiful baseball pops in strawberry, oreo, funfetti, and red velvet. All were just incredible and the intricate baseball design was a home run! (Pun intended). I'm not sure if I recommend this business or not because I didn't use the business services. It doesn't say online that they're closed. I drove all the way over there, and on the door there was a sign ,that it will be closed with a different date.During the hours before 3 PM it was supposed to be open, however, it was not open .so it's not really cool. There should be a better communication , as it is the only cupcake store in the area and I needed dozen of cupcakes to take it to my daughter's school. Kristen baked 50 cupcakes for NH Association of Conservation Commission's 50th Anniversary celebration at Bear Brook State Park last Saturday. Comments included - "Best cupcake I've ever had." I ate two of them, sorry, couldn't help myself." I was standing by them during the presentation and this rich chocolate smell drifted over to me and I actually drooled." Stopped by yesterday to buy some cake pops. There were 10 left, all vanilla and I brought all of them for a little gathering we were hosting that evening. I asked for a little bag as two were being dropped off to my little granddaughter. I was condescendingly told "packaging is very expensive, one bag per customer". $25 is expensive for 10 small baked items as well. These were not customized gift bags mind you, just plain run of the mill plastic bags. Was a bit taken back with the rudeness but paid and left. After serving the cake pops that evening, all of them went straight into the trash. The were undercooked and very dense and gummy. I alerted my daughter who I made of delivery of the two other cake pops not to eat them either. The quality of product and rude customer service will ensure that this will be my first and last visit to this establishment. Plenty of other bakeries and stores to buy these types of items. read more

I will not return again. The cupcakes are smaller compared to other cupcake shops I've been to in New England and elsewhere. I know they say they are made from scratch but all 5 flavors tasted the same to me, like a box mix. They were dry inside. I went 2 hours after they opened so I don't think it's because they sat around unless they were from the previous day. The flavor was only in the frosting and toppings, unfortunately that flavor was sickeningly sweet. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the store is delightfully decorated. Kudos to whomever decorated the shop! That's not enough for me to return though. If you need me, you can find me getting my cupcakes at Queen City Cupcakes in Manchester or Crumbs or Sweet Shop in Boston. read more

My husband and I are now huge fans of Cupcakes 101. We loved how moist, delicious and fresh the cupcakes are! We have tried several cupcakes from all over SoCal especially in Los Angeles where we came from, and it's the first time that we were blown away by the taste! We got the following: Peach & Bourbon - (4 stars) you can really taste the fresh fruit ingredients, consistency & texture is just right and the bourbon is not overpowering. Chocolate Salted Caramel - (5 stars) our favorite! just melts in your mouth and the combination is just perfect! a must try! Strawberry Vanilla - (4 stars) - super loved this one and especially the frosting where you can still taste the fresh strawberries that they mixed with it! my first time to ever appreciate a strawberry cupcake! this one's a keeper too. Peanut Butter Cup - (4 stars) this is one is very good too, but nothing too special as compared to the other PB cupcakes that we've tried before. Went to cupcakes 101 on Christmas Eve today 2020. My aunt from New York asked me to pick up chocolate covered pretzels as a gift for someone. Leslie the women working the cash register was wonderful, she took her time to make sure I was helped while on FaceTime with my aunt. She was patient because my aunt couldn't make up her mind. We finally got it packaged and Leslie was making sure it was nice as I was transferring money from Venmo. Kristen the other women working with brown hair and bangs went up to Leslie and said "can you hurry up so we can take other customers" meanwhile only one more customer came in. The place was pretty empty so there was no need for a rush. I could not believe that she said that to someone who was just trying to make sure the customer was happy. I am a customer do I not matter to you Kristen? That was the first time walking into cupcakes 101 and I probably won't visit again because I'm not a regular. Clearly their regulars matter more. We have tried all the local cupcakes places now, Cupcakes 101 in Bedford, Queen City Cupcakes in Manchester, and Kate & Graces cupcakes in Derry NH. Cupcakes 101 was the best by far not only were the cupcakes delicious but their service was spectacular. Rushing to Queen City got old fast, especially since they only bake a certain amount for the day and then they close. Their cupcakes were good but expensive.Cupcakes 101 is cheaper and cupcakes are slightly larger. Kate & Grace we tried twice since we bought their Livingsocial deal for 10.00 for 6 cupcakes -- if I had paid 3.25 a cupcake I would have been going back for my money. They were small, extremely dry, and basically fell apart. These were the first cupcakes that not every one got eaten.. we ended up throwing some away since not even our guests wanted to take any home. We live closer to Kate and Grace's then any other of the cupcakes places but we'll make the drive to Cupcakes 101 any day over going back to Kate & Graces. They need to revamp their cake batter receipe, add some apple sauce or oil for moisture. We definately wouldn't be going back to Kate & Graces unless something dramatic happened. It says something that they are the only ones who have had to use Living Social to get business. Everyone else is so busy they don't need to bother. Cupcakes 101 I found out after talking to the owner bake throughout the day so the cupcakes are always fresh and moist. We loved their option of ordering online ahead of time or calling ahead to order so convienent as well as their posted schedule on their website of what days they make some of their specialty cupcakes on. If you want a specialty cupcake they aren't making on a certain day -- makes it easy to plan when we really want make sure we get to their store. We love the Rolo, the Chocolate Chocolate, and many many others. read more

UPDATE: Move them to Five Stars! I have become a HUGE fan (pun intended!). They have one cupcake, called a Hostess (chocolate with a marshmallow center and Dark Chocolate drizzle) that is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Another is the 100 Grand...named after the candy bar...insanely good! The girls are doing a GREAT JOB! I had their Chocolate Cupcake with White Frosting...and it was really yummy! The cake was moist (even a day later!) and the frosting was sweet, but not too much of it (like some other cupcake places). Also, one comment...I think the size of their cupcakes is quite perfect. They are not too large...many places serve you a half of a cake as a cupcake. Cupcakes 101 make a smaller-midsized cupcake that is the right amoutn without being too much of an over indulgence...great job! While driving to Manchester, my husband gleefully pointed out the cigar shop that shares a building with Cupcakes 101. I was SO PUMPED to get one (or, you know, several) on the drive home. Unfortunately, after experiencing hours of anticipation because I knew cupcakes were imminent, I was rather let down. The shop is HUGE, and it also sells candy. SO MUCH CANDY. Like, retro candy that I haven't seen in years. So bonus points for that. And the staff was super friendly. And the prices were fair. Now on to what's most important part (to me). I have to say these cupcakes were underwhelming. I had a chocolate peanut butter cup, which was good... but not great. I felt it was on the dry side. I did enjoy the frosting, although in my opinion, there was too much of it (I seriously CANNOT believe I would ever even think such a thing). I also had an Orea cupcake. I have to say I really enjoyed the cake part - that had oreos crumbled up in it. Again, the frosting left a lot to be desired. My husband got a "Harry Potter butter beer" cupcake (I couldn't even tell you what's in that), which he said was good. I feel terrible, but I had to only give 2 stars. I just don't think the cupcakes were anything special, and if you're paying close to $3 per cupcake, I feel like they should be better than just good. Wow. We have tried all the local cupcake places, and this is the best one around! Stopped in and got one of each kind of cupcake for a family gathering, including: chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter cup, toasted almond, peppermint patty and more. Every cupcake was absolutely flavorful and delicious. The peanut butter cup with the hidden peanut butter inside and the peppermint patty were our favorites. The cakes were moist and delicious. There was the perfect amount of piled high frosting, which was made with real butter and very tasty. And, the cupcakes were large, well-priced and beautiful. Can't wait to try the french toast cupcake! Gluten free cupcakes are available usually by pre-order only, unless they have some remaining after an order. they have chocolate and vanilla, and can put different flavored frosting on. We live in Bedford, NH and were on the hunt for cupcakes for our daughter's baby shower in Boston...tough crowd of millenial foodies and Boston bakery snobs to be sure :) Expecting our first grandchild (a boy) we had some special requests....we wanted a mixture of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with of course blue butter cream icing...in fact we wanted different colors of blue to make it special....as the nursery was ocean and under the seas themed the owner suggested some really cool blue gummy sharks/dolphins which were perfect and a huge hit ! Good. I purchased 4 different cupcakes at the end of June. The store is very large and is more like a candy shop, rather than a cupcake shop. I found the size and price to be typical for the area. The cake was flavorful and moist. The flavor combinations were cleaver and they also provided simple vanilla with vanilla frosting. I gave this store a three star rating because my co-workers and I found the frosting to be sweet. Whether it was chocolate, maple, or vanilla. It was all too sweet. read more

My husband and I worked with Cupcakes 101 for our wedding at LaBelle Winery in Amherst on October 8, 2021. We couldn't have been more thrilled with how amazing our experience with them was. We knew that we wanted to do something other than a traditional wedding cake, and we were looking for more of a dessert bar. That's exactly what we got from Cupcakes 101. I spoke to a lovely woman named Lesley who worked there, and she gave me great recommendations on what to order. My husband and I also went into the store to meet with Kristen, the owner. It was an awesome experience, as we got to try out multiple flavors of their very popular cupcakes. I'm not a huge dessert person like my husband, and I couldn't even stop eating them. We tried crazy flavors like Oreo, Funfetti, Reese's, etc. There is literally every flavor you can imagine. For our wedding we ended up going with an assortment of cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, and brownies. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the dessert, especially the cake pops! They were beautiful, tasty, and great sized portions! Gluten free options were available as well! It was perfect for our event as there was something for everyone on that dessert table, and they were things you could easily transfer which made for great doggy bags/leftovers at the end of the night! read more

My daughters and I are doing a "cupcakes war" style taste testing of all the cupcake places in the southern NH area. This was our first stop. We were not overly impressed. There were very few cupcake flavors offered. There is no seating to eat the cupcakes there. The butterfinger cupcake was great, but the frosting had a weird texture. Their cupcakes are moist and flavorful, and aren't overly like the overly large ones that other bakeries offer (those can be raw in the middle). I don't know what they put in these cupcakes, but they leave you craving more!! Initially I went here because they have a far larger selection of gluten free cupcakes than any other bakery. I was going to a dinner party where the hostess could not have gluten and wanted to ensure she had desert too. The regular cupcakes ( butterfinger, tiramisu, hostess etc.) were light and fluffy and so incredibly moist. The gluten free (peanut butter cup, mounds, chocolate) cupcakes were so delicious that all of them were eaten almost immediately. These aren't the biggest cupcakes, but they don't have to be because they are the best around. If you judge your food based on portion size, this may not be your favorite, but if you base your opinion on taste, Cupcakes 101 will leave you craving more of these delicious cupcakes! read more
