I walked in for lunch a few weeks ago, and was amazed at all the amazing pastries they had fresh on the counter! I am sad there was not even one gluten free option for the bakery, but they did direct me to a GF bakery down the street which was nice they were aware of other options in the area. I went and got the Big Mac Salad- and it was delicious and would definitely get again! A little pricey, but for the quality and convenience I wasn't thrown off by it much. As soon as you walk in someone greets you and they are nice and eager to help you find what you're looking for. I also appreciate their willingness to provide recommendations! I always enjoy popping into Crosby for a breakfast or dessert pastry, they have a quaint and classic small town bakery vibe with friendly staff. I have had their breakfast pastries multiple times and most of them are awesome. I think their main stars are the doughnuts and dessert pastries they are always fresh, flavorful, light, and delicious. I would reccomend the lemon crème doughnut, I crave it at least once a week. They are are experts at making cakes with cool designs and make a very cool cake for a ramen obsessed recent masters graduate. Their cake is dense and moist with their fruit filling being sweet and fresh. I would reccomend to anyone looking for a cake with a unique design. I love this place. Every time I venture into Nashua, I drop in. The donuts are to die for and the eclairs are simply sinful. I have one complaint/recommendation though. Branding is so important. Yesterday I got a dozen cookies to bring to dart night. People loved them but Crosby's missed the mark by not even putting a simple (very inexpensive) sticker on the box. Bad marketing IMO. The only good part of going to the doctor office is the visit to Crosby's. What happened I usually go for either a mocha roll or apple strudel. This time the mocha roll. 3 years ago we had a beautiful cake made for my son's grooms cake. It was so well done and tasted fantastic. This week we picked up a cake for a second grooms cake. It was supposed to be red velvet with a cream cheese frosting and some decorations. When I arrived to pick it up, I noticed chunks of cream cheese that weren't mixed in. The woman behind the counter said "oh, that's normal". I also noticed the pipes designs around the edges didn't even cover the corners and didn't even all go in the same direction. There's a big guy ( I understand the new owners husband) behind the counter with long, greasy hair. It's just disgusting. On my way up to NH to surprise my friend on her birthday, I was trying to look for a cake, totally last minute of course, and found this tiny mom-and-pop bakery in Nashua. The display case was close to empty with a limited selection bake goods that didn't look attractive. The only thing I found here that did look nice were these beautifully designed cupcakes made out of plastic and for display only which is less than helpful if they're trying to bring in new customers. They should only advertise what they sell. Angel Cake with Chocolate Frosting- This was the only small cake they had on display at the time. It looked like very little effort was put into this. And for a bakery, I wouldn't go with colorful jimmies to pizzazz a cake. Perhaps some raspberries and confectioner sugar or drizzled icing would have looked more appealing. It tasted okay though. Overall Service: The young lady at the register was kind and helpful. I wasn't excited about any of the selections here so I ended up letting her pick a cake for my friend. read more

Crosby's is a Nashua institution. Stopped by for a couple of treats, and decided on a cinnamon roll and two Pumpkin Spice twists. The cinnamon roll was huge and delicious, fluffy and light. The twists were perfect, with subtle flavors of pumpkin spice. What a great bakery! read more

I walked in on a Tuesday early afternoon. I was greeted right away by the person behind the counter. I ordered one maple frosted donut. At quick glance the donut under the glass looked small, but when I actually took it out of the bag when I got back home, I realized it was a pretty thick donut. The donut tasted amazing. Light and fluffy and buttery! The maple frosting tasted really good. I would recommend this place for the donuts. I'm gonna have to come back and try their other goodies. read more

Ordered a birthday cake three weeks before the actual pick up date. Picked it up on time. Got home and cut into it only to discover it was beyond stale. I've never had a crust on a cake but there it was. We tried eating it but ended up throwing it away. This bakery in general needs to work on their decoration and taste. There were fruit filled cookies but they didn't look good. They could have just cut out shapes or made linzer cookies. Nothing really looked appetizing except for their holiday cookies. I got a cream puff, a tollhouse cookie and a tree sugar cookie. The cream puff with the cream inside had a metallic aftertaste. The tollhouse cookies with walnuts were overbaked and didn't taste very good. The tree cookie looked pretty but didn't taste good. The cookie needed more sugar. A disappointment for a bakery that is so close to downtown. read more

The best way to start a Saturday is a trip here when a dozen donuts are a buck off. The bakers get there before dawn to make doughnuts, cookies, breads and cakes using recipes that have kept this place open for over fifty years. It feels good (and smells good) to buy items baked on site, rather than shipped in via a truck in the early morning. It is a hole in the wall and the unpretentious interior hasn't really changed over the years at all and there is something very comforting about that. The bread is really where it is at. The vienna bread is made daily and tastes like bakery bread should. For cookies, go for the tollhouse cookies or raspberry shortbreads. For doughnuts, the twists can't be beat but the hand glazed put up a good fight. As far as cakes are concerned, they do taste much dryer than the supermarket bakery attempts, but the buttercream frosting is much better. They will put anything on a cake for you as far as designs. The coffee is fair, which is good for me. If I lingered here, I think it would be a lot harder to wear a bathing suit. Be prepared to leave with more than you intended on buying. read more

They use their own breads for the sandwiches they serve for lunch every day. They make a butter croissant that is every bit as good as the ones I had in the south of France. And the donuts! Ahhh...! The donuts! The cake style are very good! In the fall, they have a apple cider based one, with cider from Lull Farm in Hollis. The jelly are puffy and so good that I make them bite sized, even though they really aren't! Their only shortcomings are a lack of credit card acceptance, and no easy way to find out the daily lunch specials. But hardly a real turn off.
