If I could describe Moo's in only two words, they would be: quality control. Funnily enough, I rarely go here. In fact, I haven't had the Peanut Butter Cup ice cream in YEARS! I had nearly forgotten how smooth and creamy their ice cream is. The way they can make vanilla ice cream also taste peanut buttery is a feat familiar only to magicians and wizards. In other words, their stuff is just THAT good! Ultimately, I'm glad wifey talked me into coming back here on a whim. It's just that I'm hardly ever in the mood for dessert of any kind. But every once in a while....I get a sweet tooth for something with peanut butter in it. And now that my taste buds have been reminded of the elegance this ice cream effortlessly carries, I think I can manage to find an excuse to come here slightly more often. Only problem is they're mainly open during the warmer months. But....I totally get why. It's just a shame I failed to take a pic of the ice cream, since I was too lost in the abyss of ecstasy that was my sweet treat. Besides, I didn't want it to melt. Ah, well. Might remember next time. One last caveat: they don't really have their own parking lot. So, you just kinda....pull into one of the adjacent lots on either side of the place and hope you find a spot. Mildly dubious parking aside, I'm gonna give Moo's Place in Derry 5 Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cups smoother than a Milky Way out of 5.

I came across Love + Flour's booth at Snowport in Boston, so this review is for their baked goods…read moreand not the physical location. But now that I know they're in Salem, I'll be visiting very soon! The macarons were front and center in the booth, and I kept goggling at how beautiful they were. They are slightly larger macarons with generous fillings and bejeweled shells ($3.75 each). I asked the person manning the booth what her favorites were (sugar cookie and cookie dough), but I still had trouble deciding which to try, there were so many unique flavors. She was very helpful though. Macarons are generally gluten free, but some flavors had cookie or cake crumbs and were labeled as containing gluten (fyi all served in the same case). These macarons were certainly not dairy free, but I decided to try them anyways; they were way too tempting. The Tall Man and I ended up getting a guava and a gingerbread macaron. His dad got a pistachio and a cosmic brownie (typical brownie vs the peppermint version). If I had known he was going to get some, it would have made more sense to get a half dozen. Macarons aren't cheap cookies, but they were certainly worth it. The guava was the plainest in appearance and taste. It wasn't decorated, and only the shell was flavored not the cream; it was too subtle and could have used a jam. The gingerbread was my favorite of our choices, spicy and not overly sweet with a nice textural crunch with the mini gingerbread sprinkles. The cosmic brownie had fun chunky sprinkles and a very fudgy texture, which was more brownie than macaron like (probably intentionally), but the taste was like a typical brownie so I would get something different next time. I didn't get to try the pistachio, but my father in law enjoyed it, and he doesn't even like cookies. Everything on display was beautifully fun to look at. I was also intrigued by their hot chocolate bombs and cake jars, but more as eye candy since they were full of gluten and dairy (but would make for great gifts!).

Large open working kitchen and cute aesthetic - but as I said it's not usually open to sell individual bakery items. Perfectly light crisp exterior and tender sweet cookie with delightful fillings! I will dream of these! Especially loved the strawberry. The cupcakes varied to my taste but I loved the mini cinnamon roll cupcake which was still warm and covered in silky cream cheese frosting. The vanilla berry cake was not terribly flavorful. Needed a little more berry for me. Haven't tried the German chocolate yet but looking forward to it. The owner bent over backwards to help us and described every item!
