I told myself I'd never go back to Batch after multiple horrible experiences at the one in Fort Lauderdale but the Delray location definitely won me over. The manager Jennifer was amazing so on top of things. Our server Natasha was excellent and so attentive and friendly. When I saw the "Please Seat Yourself" sign I thought I was going to get another bad experience like the one I've had before at the Fort Lauderdale location but I was pleasantly surprised. After talking with Natasha I realized that Delray Batch has a great team and I shouldn't judge them off a different location. I will definitely be back here. read more

I want to preface this review by saying we had a good experience here a few months ago. So we were happy to go back. We were a party of five. Four adults and my 1 year old who sits in a highchair. I made a reservation for five people. We were seated at a small table for four and before I even sat down, I asked the manager if we could be moved to a larger table as we were five people not four. She told me that they typically do not count a highchair in the party total for seating purposes. I told her this makes no sense. Despite being in a high chair, my child is still a person who takes up table space and eats food and that I really wasn't interested in having a meal with my child sitting right on top of me, sharing a space meant for one person. She told me that there were two large parties and that there were no other tables we could be moved to. It was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant with my toddler, and we go out with him at least twice a week. Sitting right on top of me, close enough to grab the food off my plate because we had no personal space at all. Our party ended up splitting up, leaving the table with my son immediately after ordering, and as soon as we were done eating because it was so frustrating to be crammed in at this table. I did the correct thing by including my son in the reservation total, as I do at every single restaurant. It makes no sense for a restaurant to completely disregard him as a person taking up space at a table. No other restaurant has ever had an issue with this. If we had not needed a high chair we would've been seated at an appropriate table for 5 adults. Further, my reservation was originally for the following evening (Saturday), but our party switched plans on Thursday to go on Friday instead. When I modified the reservation on Thursday, every single time slot was available on OpenTable for a next day reservation. If the restaurant was so packed by these two big parties that they could not appropriately accommodate us, I should not have been able to make a next day reservation, that's a total mistake on Batch's part. Shortly after making the reservation, I received a voicemail from someone at the restaurant and I called back to speak to them. The employee told me that they were checking in on all their reservations because they were having two large parties and they wanted to tell me that I couldn't guarantee a specific table location in terms of inside/outside and typically not high top or low top, but that I would be guaranteed a low top table due to the high chair, but there was no mention of potentially not having a table big enough to accommodate my party. Not to mention the entire restaurant, both indoors and outdoors is absolutely infested with flies at the moment. It was disgusting. Flies were constantly landing on our plates and drinks. The woman behind us had a fan to steer them away. It seems that all of Delray Marketplace is currently infested with flies, so while I don't solely blame Batch for this, it definitely contributed to our overall displeasure. And on top of all that, we all agreed our food was very mediocre. The burgers were tasteless and our plates were skimpy on the fries. It was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a very long time. I was told by my party that the manager came over to apologize at the end of the meal, but I had already left the table with my son. She didn't take anything off the bill or offer us a complementary item so while I appreciate the sentiment, we still paid for a very aggravating and unenjoyable meal. For all of these reasons, we will not be returning. --- I'm editing my review in response to the owners comments. All I did was repeat what your manager said to me verbatim. And clearly you didn't count the high chair in the seating total because we were seated at a 4 top with 5 people. I was never quoted a wait time for another table indoors, I was told there was no other availability when I asked. I was offered a larger table outside, but as previously mentioned, the entire vacant table and area was buzzing with flies. So like any sane person, we denied that offer. You're correct, you didn't have the table to accommodate my party, so Batch should not have accepted my reservation. There was no way to solve the problem because it shouldn't have been created in the first place. I did not "want to be sat immediately", we had a reservation and the other members of my party were already seated before we even arrived. No discussion happened until I saw the table that my party was already sitting at. As stated before, I will never return to Batch, but I don't appreciate the owner implying that I am lying or somehow misunderstanding a situation that he wasn't even present for. read more

Caution: the tip is included in the bill. They do not tell you that. Noticed my bill was higher than it was supposed to be. When I questioned the waitress she said, oh, the tip is included. Beware. Ate here last week and started with tequila BBQ shrimp (wanted to try the quesadilla but we had to save room for the entrées) - it was extremely tasty, light & healthy, too !! My wife and I came here for brunch on a Sunday. We were seated right away in a comfy booth and the entire staff was extremely friendly. I ordered the steak and eggs (pictured) which was $29. Although pricey, it was very tasty and I would get it again. My wife is a vegan and a celiac which can make it tough to find restaurants that offer both options but Batch actually has a wide variety of vegan options from the traditional impossible burger to vegan chili to bbq jackfruit sandwhich and... *drum rolls* even Impossible Scramble, which is just egg and impossible sausage with vegetables. When we told the waitress my wife was a celiac and can't have gluten, she took it very seriously and insured us it'd be made without gluten which we really appreciated. My wife really enjoyed the meal. Our only minor complaint is that the impossible scramble comes with potatoes but I *think* they left the potatoes off because of fear of cross contamination with gluten, which we appreciate, but this left the impossible scramble a little less hearty. We'd really appreciate if the potatoes must be left off to add extra vegetables or eggs to make it a more filling meal. But she loved the taste itself, just wished there was more of it. Genuinely one of, if not the best restaurant experience I've had. When you walk in, you're instantly encouraged to make yourself at home (I assume that happens when it is not super busy) and seat yourself. Then we tried the burnt ends and the biscuits for our appetizer. The butter and jam were so amazing and it was the best biscuit I've ever eaten. The burnt ends were tender and came with crispy onions which was a really nice touch. Then for the entree, my wife had the shrimp and grits. She said that the tomato-bacon jus that the grits were surrounded by was delicious, and that the blackened shrimp was extremely flavorful and the grits were prepared to perfection. I ordered the Mac and cheese with their 12-hour brisket. The Mac and cheese was clearly made in house with a rue style sauce, it tasted homemade. It was creamy and flavorful and the brisket was so tender. The vibe of the place is really nice too, lots of little bottles and decorations to look around at, and honestly the cleanest public bathroom I've been in-in a while. The server we had (I forget her name, young woman with glasses) was very personable and hospitable, when my wife wasn't sure as to what to order, she helped her and gave her a choice she loved. After we finished eating, the manager walked over and made small conversation, making us feel very at home. Then she offered us a dessert to show how much she appreciated us! Came here with my husband and son after an Easter event in the marketplace. We ended up running a little late so I gave them a call and they were great about it. We walked in and there were several hostesses available to seat. Our server was really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, though Al little expensive. We took a nice long drive after considering several spots along the way and told my husband I have heard great things about Batch and if he minded if we tried it. Hostess was very nice and sat us in a booth. It wasn't crazy busy around 11:45 when we got there due to Spring Break and the Boat Show both going on this weekend. We started with the Drop Biscuits. Amazing! Justin was a great guide to the menu. He gave amazing service. We didn't feel pressured or rushed with our decisions. A manager named Jessica delivered the appetizer and we asked her about her favorite things on the menu also. We decided on the Brisket Hash and the Fried Chicken skillet with eggs and grits. The Grits are so delicious I almost wish I ordered the Shrimp and Grits! Next time! Jessica asked if we would like to try a dessert on the house and although I had no idea how we would possibly have room we had so many amazing things it was hard to turn down so we decided on the Banana Pudding. It was also delicious! That extra step of customer service made us feel so special and welcomed. We can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! They had a DJ playing music at a fun but comfortable level that also just added such a great vibe to this place! Fantastic from top to bottom! First time at Batch and must say I was quite shocked that I liked it so much. Haven't brunched in Delray for awhile so it was nice to find another gem. This gastropub is located west of the turnpike right next door the cinema. Ample parking to the left of the building. As we arrived we were asked inside or outside seating. The day was beautiful 72 degrees and clear sunny skies so opted for outside. There were a lot of tables open. We sat for a bit before a waiter came to us. By that time I knew what I wanted. We ordered the deviled eggs, steakhouse salad, The Hangover hash along with the unlimited mimosas and Bellinis. You can switch between 4 different drinks every time! The deviled eggs were perfect. I would've ordered 5 orders of that if I would've known if I knew how good it was! He enjoyed his steakhouse salad. And my hangover hash was good but I felt like needed more seasoning. Now heads up-it comes with a short rib patty. Not the actual chunk of short rib. I tried the mimosa and ginger peach Bellini. I would say the Bellini is better. I drank two of those. My daughter, grandkids and I came in for dinner. Food was great, i like the atmosphere. I am not one to leave a review like this, but a lady (I'm assuming manager) with black hair and glasses came up to us to ask how our food was, and as soon as she opened her mouth we got a whiff of the most horrid breath I have ever experienced. I will not call her by name, but as someone who used to be in the service industry, hygiene around food is important and that just seemed a little absurd. I'm confused with this place, it feels like it's trying to be multiple things. I wanted to watch a game and from what I saw online, it looked like a sports bar. Atmosphere was a disaster, food was good. The TV's are mounted about 2-3 feet too high (other than the main bar) so to watch any of the TV's that were within a close proximity we all had to tilt our heads back at an uncomfortable position. Whoever mounted these either didn't know what they were doing or were not really paying attention. We left about 10 minutes after the start of the game because of that alone. While having to look up into the ceiling to see the TV's there are about 20 "hue" led light bulbs which face the wrong direction and are being used to light up a black ceiling. To whoever did this, black absorbs light. Once again, it's incredibly annoying because it's running a continuous color scroll while you're looking right at them while trying to watch the game on TV. So it becomes a distraction and on the brighter colors is pretty annoying. Music was high energy dance music from the minute we got there and all the songs blended together with out ever stopping. Made for a uncomfortable atmosphere while trying to eat and not feeling rushed listening to boom boom boom. I'll never go back, even though the food was good. I would suggest fixing those things to give it more of a sports bar feel because there are literally no good sports bars in the area that aren't just all fried food. We would have all ate and stayed much longer, but who knows what the thought was. There was plenty of audio and TV's just a few changes and it would be somewhere we would frequent. read more

We recently discovered Batch after waiting in vain for a table to open up next door at Ganzo. After 20 mins we decided to look elsewhere and there was Batch. We got seated immediately and for the most part our experience was very good. Batch has an energetic atmosphere, good music selection for a middle aged couple like us (mostly classic rock and 70's/80s and a few harder picks from AC/DC and Kiss which was a nice surprise) and friendly service. Parking is plentiful in the giant lot out back and there are also quite a few Tesla chargers available if you wish. The menu has a good amount of options and for the setting and location, I found the prices to be reasonable. Most of the food we got was good but a few items were subpar. For our appetizer, our table got the giant Bavarian pretzel with 84 proof mustard and cheese sauce, the truffle fries, and the potato skins. For our entrees we got a few brisket and short rib burgers, the Korean BBQ pizza, and the Polynesian bowl with grilled chicken. We also got some Bloody Mary's. I though the apps were great. The pretzel was indeed giant, it was served hot and fresh and the sauces were great, especially the spiked mustard. The truffle fries were very truffley and delicious. The only comment on the truffle fries other than deliciousness was that the portion was extremely small. They're charging me $9 for fries, and at that price, the portion should be bigger. They gave us something that resembled a kids order. The potato skins were really great. We left off the chorizo but it was still very tasty. Good size portion too. The Bloody Mary's were great btw, super spicy and they weren't shy with the vodka either. Outstanding. The entrees were unfortunately a bit uneven. The best of the bunch was the burger. Damn, that brisket short-rib mix is absolutely sensational, really a top notch burger. It was my favorite part of the meal in fact. The regular fries on the side were good and plentiful. The Korean pizza however was terrible. The meat was chewy and overcooked and the sauce was cloyingly sweet with zero nuance. We hated it. Even worse was that Polynesian bowl. It had farro and quinoa which are 2 important superfoods that I usually eat, but the mix in's it was supposed to come with were for the most part M.I.A. It had some red pepper but everything else, the roasted sweet potato, edamame, grilled pineapple, cilantro and pineapple-ginger miso sauce were barely noticeable or missing completely. Ever eat unflavored quinoa or farro? It's horrendous. Luckily I got a grilled chicken add on, otherwise the dish was a total write off. I left thinking Batch was easily a 4.5 or 5 star place. But upon reflection, those 2 awful entrees really sullied the memory. I'd say 3.5 stars is more like it, rounded up to 4 because we had a really nice time. I would recommend giving Batch a shot if you want a causal pub style dinner out with friends or family. I personally would like to go back and try some more items to see if our lackluster entrees were the exception or the rule. read more

I felt healthier just drinking it lol. Then people around me started ordering the Hard Rootbeer. They make the spiced dark rum and the Rootbeer in house, so I had tol try that, it was Awesome! We had the meat and cheese board 6$ on HH. It was a grat small bite. I took some pics of the menu items and specials, I can't wait to go back, wish it eas closer to my neighborhood. I have been to Batch a few times and always thought they had a great happy hour and good bar bites, but last night I went with a group of 6 and was very disappointed. We ordered the buffalo chicken nachos and they were great, but after we got our appetizers the service significantly declined. We were told there was an event happening, which we understood, but each time we ordered drinks we waited over 30 minutes for simple wells. Our server was not nice at all and seemed annoyed every time we talked to her. We got our drinks messed up and decided not to complain, but were very disappointed. I don't recommend it during busy hours, but I do love their avocado toast during brunch! read more

Too basic to be the elevated gastropub it claims to be; too pricey to be a casual neighborhood joint that is good enough for the money. Another reviewer said it's basically a sports bar with a gastropub menu and that is an elegant description. There was an effort here, to be sure, and some of the elements are there, but the execution falls short. I have been there twice, on two different trips when I was in Florida visiting my mom. She really liked the mushroom risotto the first time we went and it is admittedly very good, but an extremely small portion as t $17+ for what is basically rice and cheese with mushrooms. She was craving it so we returned. None of the other food items have wowed me. On my second visit I got the Island Mahi which was tasty for the first few bites but then got boring. And the fish was slightly overcooked and therefore not very flavorful but fkor the trimmings. The side salad that came with the mahi was actually pretty good. But most disappointing was the drink. I ordered an old fashioned that tasted like it had no bourbon in it. It was like drinking sugar syrup. Had it not been happy hour I would have sent it back - $13 for a cocktail is like DC or Boston area pricing and a yellow colored bourbon drink is just not going to fly. Photo attached. Oh, plus the maraschino cherry garnish tasted nice but had a PIT. Who garnishes with a pitted cherry? For a minute I was worried I had broken a tooth. Speaking of things that do or do not fly, there was not a single outdoor chair anywhere that did not have bird poop all over it and, believe me, we tried. On both occasions. You'd think they would simply institute a policy of wiping down the poopy chairs every few nights but whatever. It kind of solidifies how this place plays at being classy and then falls apart in the details. Short version my mom and I left having spent around $60 after tip after getting only one one drink each, at happy hour pricing, and were far from stuffed. As I write this at 11pm I'm hungry for a big snack. I don't think we'll go back. We can get similar quality food and drink for way less money elsewhere. read more

They exist, of course, but are far and few between, especially when you're accustomed to food in the Northeast. My daughter and I ordered Shrimp & Grits and Mac & Cheese. I know these sound like simple, "no big deal" dishes, but they were exceptionally good.
