For this review. I thought the food was excellent. The Hollandaise sauce was yummy. The home fries were crispy which I had been missing. It's not a beautiful place. It's nice. Homey? The combination of sausages, onions and mozzarella gave good bites. Our server was quite pleasant, checking on us, refilling our coffee cups. I would love to keep coming back here.

I cannot sing its praises enough. And their burger patties are delicious on their own- tender and flavorful. And I do enjoy their buns that hold up to all the ingredients. And this is one of the few spots that does sweet potato waffle fries. The best type of fry in my opinion. Get them and be happy. And dip them in the darker BBQ sauce! That said, it's overall a pretty solid spot to get work done. Parking in downtown Summit is a pain in general, I usually just park in the lot and walk over. Limit is at 5 hours and you will have to walk back if you want to extend it. There might be parking available by the cafe, but I'm personally less confident on how long you can to stay before getting ticketed/booted, so do so at your own risk.

We had my son's first birthday party at Batavia on January 6th, 2024. We were so delighted with how everything turned out and the guests had an amazing time! We had access to the entire space for the party and comfortably fit over 50 people. We also hired an outside entertainer for the kids who made balloons, danced and did face painting and there was plenty of space for that as well. Mayron and his team were fabulous and planned every detail with us and were amenable to all of our requests. They catered and served the entire meal and we had numerous guests tell us how delicious the food was. There was plenty of food for everyone and we even had leftovers as well. It's a BYO and they provided wine glasses and set up a beautiful bar area for easy self-service. We were able to decorate the space how we wanted and had access to the space a whole hour before the party and all day to drop things off the day of the party. Also, they stored our cake and helped us cut it for all guests and clean and pack it up at the end. They even kindly held some balloons for us until we could pick them up a week later. We would highly recommend this gorgeous venue and wonderful staff for all parties and private occasions!!! read more

Stopped by here with my family and left wishing we had one in Short Hills too! The ambience of the place is surprisingly charming with warm maroon colors and candlelit comfortable wooden tables - but the food is what really surpassed the meaning of "cafe". I ordered half a turkey monster sandwich and my mom ordered half a turkey club so that we could also share the spinach with avocado and blue cheese salad. The turkey on both of our sandwiches was thick roasted turkey - not just some sliced deli meat but really quality meat on outrageously good whole grain bread. Our sandwiches were warmed up and tasted like a real restaurant quality meal. The salad was so fresh and just tasted all around healthy. We drank herbal hibiscus iced tea (blueberry and passion fruit) which we also loved. Then, as if that wasn't enough, we also tried the gluten free chocolate chip cookies which were SO good that we had to bring home some extra for later. The food service was fast and the environment was friendly, clean, and all around nice. We will be sure to return soon! read more

I love this restaurant. This is what Summit needs and when I am in town visiting family, stopping here is the first thing I do. I am not understanding what people are nit-picking about. Prices? Competitive and reasonable. You want cheaper food? It won't be as fresh or as high quality. Food costs a lot and I feel Batavia is a great value. The food choices are great and varied ..and I usually can't decide what I want because it all sounds so good. I love the roast turkey sandwiches. They roast the turkey fresh, in -house and very few places do that. No Boar's-head slimey turkey here. I think the salads and dressings and topping are first rate. I also love the vibe. It is not pretenious as other places can be. It's real. The owner is friendly and hardworking and has given Summit a place to go for everything from a snack to a full meal to just a cup of tea and a cookie. Kids are welcome too. All in all, I have nothing bad to say and I give it 5 stars. YUM. read more

I recently went to Batavia with my fiancé and her registered service animal. we have been in with him many times. The owner .. Paul Petrusi came over to us and gave us a weird stare and without telling us who he was and started swearing at us that we had to get the "F@#king dog out of there. After I mentioned he was lawfully allowed in the restaurant. the owner verbally threatened me with both calling the police and Bodily harm. this was witnessed by many people in the restaurant. I asked for my money back for the food we were waiting for and he said he would "F@#k me up"!! The owner appeared to be under the influence of something. I've been here 3 times now (over the span of a year). Their lunch food is usually good. Today I tried a latte - it was delicious BUT $4.95 for a large latte which is the same size as a grande at Starbucks is pricey. The reason for only a three star review is that the service is always slow (13 minutes for a latte and egg wrap this morning). Unfortunately, the breakfast was not worth the wait. The egg wrap was under seasoned and I bit into an egg shell on bite #2, which caused me to throw the whole thing out ($7 down the drain). Well I am confused by this place. It was a furniture place that sold coffee and now it is a coffee place that sells furniture. Don't want either. I ran in to get something off menu for take out. I'm a regular at Bativia for real organic coffee. I highly recommend their coffee, soups, and bite sized cookies. The soups are usually gluten free and very tasty (home made). The furniture and fixtures they sell are very unique and mostly hand made. read more
