Used Yelps request a quote feature to get a variety of quotes. Batcity Movers won my business for a couple of reasons. 1. Best price out of all of them 2. Really quick response time by Nate 3. ONLY one that would accommodate our rush move. I reached out July 1st, they were able to put us on the schedule for July 5th. For the actual move itself - the crew was excellent. It was Noah and another guy whose name is escaping me. They came and did everything quickly and well, took apart what needed to be unassembled and loaded into the truck. At the new place put everything back together again and it was timely for the most part. They ran into an issue with re-assembling 1 item they previously took apart and couldn't put it back together and had to leave for their next job. However, they sent Chris to take care of it later in the day free of charge and he was excellent. My only criticism is that both bedframes were not reassembled particularly well. The screws were loose, uneven and shoddily put together. However, Chris was kind enough to say if we found anything after he leaves that needs to be adjusted to just give him a call and he'll come back and fix it so that was really nice of him. While I didn't take up on his offer and fixed the bed frames myself, I do appreciate the gesture a lot. Mistakes happen but Bat City Movers were willing to rectify any issues which is the important part for me. So I highly recommend this crew for your moving needs and I will definitely be using them again for our next one. read more

Worst moving company I've rented, back in May of 2022. I *still* remember this company, because of how much of a shit show it was. I had a phone consultation and explained the large furniture we had. On the day of the move, the movers brought a truck smaller than what I had recommended. And wouldn't you know it, two trips had to be made, therefore doubling the price. Absolute scam of a company. Literally stole money from me. I booked a time for them to be there but they arrived an hour late. After all was done they had me call a number and read my card number to them so they could charge it. They charged me for the full time even when they had not arrived yet. I immediately contacted them to resolve it and received a notice that they would get right on it. Never heard back from them and when I contacted them again I found myself blocked. Scam!!! Do not hire this company. I scheduled these guys a month in advance. Communication seemed great & I thought I was communicating with an office. Turns out it was one guys cell number pretending to be an office. They were 8 hours late to get to me with zero communication. I had to call and text them 10 times for new etas. When they finally arrived they began loading my second story apartment. 10 mins later the boss Nate walked in and told me he knew I was mad. I said mad? You're 8 hours late! I boarded my dog which was a waste and now my apt is charging me for another day because I couldn't do my walk thru! I said so let's just get going. I didn't yell, I was way calmer than 99% of people. He said fuck this and take all her shit off the truck. They literally took my stuff off the truck and left it in the parking lot. And we're gone without even entertaining and adult conversation This is not a legitimate company. They showed up in a leased rental truck that said "easy peasy" on the side. By far the worst moving experience I've ever had. I have moved 5 times in the last 10 years and have always hired movers and have had mostly good experiences. The movers are courteous, quick and efficient. I've had the same basic amount of furniture through all of these, and have had most of my moves done in 3 hours or less. The movers come, wrap my furniture, load it on dollies and are out the door. This was not the case with Bat City. I was given a window of 4-6 PM. The movers did not arrive until 830. I initially had about 15-20 pieces of furniture and some boxes. They were running so behind, I decided to get a head start and move as many boxes as I could. The movers only needed to load the furniture in the end. This load was out of a 1 story house and took over 2 hours. They could not figure out how to load the truck, they hand carried everything, didn't use moving blankets, or wrap anything. When they finally finished, the truck looked like it had been packed by children. The movers repeatedly said they had been working since 7 AM. While I felt for them, the level of professionalism and quality was abysmal. There were multiple items of furniture that I had to move myself because they "didn't fit" in the truck. I had the same amount of furniture in a 10' pod (this was a 17' truck). When they came to unload, my building had an elevator, and they were loading things maybe 1-2 at a time, instead of loading the furniture by the elevator, then packing as many things as possible in the elevator to save time. Again, they still did not use dollys. They would bring up about 1-2 pieces of furniture every 15 minutes. As a result, the unload took over 3 hours, and they were not done until 1:30 AM. Many pieces of furniture were dirty because they were not unwrapped and the whole process was exhausting. There were multiple times when the movers seemed annoyed or frustrated, and one even threatened to say something to my new neighbor when she complained about noise. I called the owner, Nate, 2 days later to tell him about my experience. At first, he was defensive, but ultimately agreed that the move did not go well and agreed to refund 2 hours of the 5 hours move, which was what was originally quoted. He promised to have this done within 24 hours. I waited 48 to give Nate the benefit of the doubt and then reached out when I still had not received the refund. I have attempted to contact him multiple times with no response. For the move, his team clearly just needs training on a more efficient way to pack. What really bothers me is Nate's promise to make good on my experience, which has turned out to be completely false. On top of that, they encourage you to do Venmo (which I did to get the whole thing over with because the movers said they needed to get Nate on the phone to run a credit card, which was "unlikely" at 1:30). That was a clear mistake on my part because now I can't even contest it. There are so many moving choices in austin. My advice would be to hire literally anyone else. read more

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS!!! Reason 1, they broke our tv and antique globe. This wouldn't have been a big deal except the OWNER REFUSED TO CONTACT ME BACK! I've called, texted and emailed for 2 weeks with no response. Reason 2, they lied about the day they were going to move me. We were promised Sunday. After pushing it back to 8 pm that night, they finally showed up Monday. Reason 3, I was quoted for 3 people. Only 2 showed up in a run down truck. (It wouldn't even go in reverse.). Upon delivery, the representatives from the furniture store were not able to get the couch upstairs. We were very upset because we specifically wanted the couch upstairs. Nate, the owner, was very responsive with setting up and scheduling our move a few weeks back in July. The day of the move the two guys were super nice and respectful of our stuff. I was particularly worried about certain furniture and it getting damaged, but they definitely understood and were very careful. I made sure and had Gatorade/water ready for them because it was definitely a hot day in July. The guys finished in under two hours and only charged me for that allotted time! The short story: the movers didn't show up for a morning move. When they did show up it took 5 hours to move a one bedroom condo a little over a mile away (both buildings with elevators). To top it off screws were lost for a tv stand. Long story: I requested a mass quote through Yelp for movers. Bat City was one of the responders who came in with a competitive rate and availability for the time needed. I called, speaking directly to Nate and got on the schedule (or so I thought). A few days later I realized I had not received a confirmation email, I reached back out to Nate. I did so through Yelp, double checking I was scheduled. I received a response from Nate saying "you're good to go". Moving day: I was expecting the movers at 9-9:30, once 10 rolled around with not word, I decided to start calling. 4 phone calls later, an email and a text, Nate calls letting me know I'm not on the schedule. Thankfully, Nate said once one of his crews was done with their current move they would head over. Around 1pm the movers arrived. I felt for them and was appreciative as they were not expecting to do a second move. When they began it was clear my pace of work was not theirs. I helped do a lot of the moving just to get it done quickly. I empathized as I knew they were paying for another's mistake. On a few occasions one of the movers continued to apologize and said Nate would work with me on everything. When we arrived at the new place at one point it had been about 30-45 minutes since I had seen the crew. I put my bed together in the timeframe. They finally came up and let me know they had lost the screws to my TV stand, a speciality tripod TV stand. They felt terrible and let me know Nate would have the screws overnighted to me. The majority of my boxes were not placed in the correct rooms; remember this is a one bedroom condo. At the end of the move Nate was going to charge me for the full 5 hours, I refused. I just moved a little over a year ago from a building going up 3 flights of stairs...it took 2.5 hours. This should have taken 3 hours maximum. Nate's response was to meet in the middle at 4. There was no apology for the scheduling mistake. No apology for the time it took. He said "I don't want you pissed off", a response that was unprofessional, unaccountable and simply ridiculous way for a business owner to respond to a situation. I understand mistakes, but after a few it gets a little tiring, in the end the customer is the one who takes the hit. My time was wasted for the day and on top of that it cost me financially. So those screws? Yeah I text him the following day asking for an update...silence. Save yourself the headache. There are way too many other options out there. read more

EXTREMLY disappointed in the service we received when moving from 2 houses into one house. I'll start off by saying, the trucks they sent were beyond too small for the job (both houses) and ended up with a total of 3 trips. After the 3 trips were completed, the job was still not complete. Here we are, beyond a month later, and we have damaged appliances, $5000 mattress that is torn, a damaged stairwell. In addition to the damages, we also are still left with a table that was not reassembled and still sitting on the floor with no legs. A bed and frame that is still leaning against a wall not assembled and obviously cannot be slept in. Missing pieces for me to even begin to fix THEIR mistakes. After many calls and promises to have someone sent out to finish THEIR job that has been PAID IN FULL, no promises have been fulfilled. I've been told many times and have scheduled appointments to have someone come out to finish their job, and nobody has shown up, at least 2 occurrences to date. And I expect there to be more as I now have ZERO confidence in this company to finish a job that has been paid for. We cannot use our dining room table! Do you want that? Do you want a bed that cannot be slept in or even put back together yourself since this company has lost the hardware? This is a joke. I do not recommend them to anyone looking for a mover that will do a job that has been paid for, and fix what has been damage or not completed. It's sad that we've unpacked all of our boxes, but still yet to have a table put back together that the disassembled in the move. Eating on table trays gets old after a month. I've had direct conversations with Nate, and 2 weeks after our last talk, and another no show, I cannot get a reply. I hope to be able to update this review, but right now, nothing looks good and no commitments or promises have been fulfilled. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Nate, you have my number. I've called you multiple times. Call me back, return my text. Fix these problems that you're company has caused and are now my families problems.
