It's been a while since I've tried Baskin-Robbins and it'll probably be my last. The staff was nice at this location but that was it. The place is absolutely filthy and rundown inside. The servers are polite and friendly and the ice cream is delicious. But the seating area had the tables and chairs mashed together so there were not enough places to sit. My girlfriend and I had to drive and find a place to eat our ice cream. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is not the best, and it was night and cold. Please be more thoughtful, manager! read more

(Reposting this review since Yelp just flagged and removed this review for no reason!!!) I placed an order for a 2/3 sheet birthday cake on Monday for Friday 2 pm pick-up and got an email confirmation for it. I got there at 6 pm and the employee looked very confused when I asked to pick up my order. I can see my order's receipt was hanging on the counter wall along with other receipts. She went into the back room and came back out without saying a word. She then told me she had to check with the manager over the phone. We had a birthday dinner reservation and were in a rush but she didn't seem to care. She remained on the phone for the longest time and went into the back room again after a long while. I asked if they have the cake or not and she couldn't even answer me. She just kept talking to the manager on the phone. I asked her if they can just issue me back a refund and send me en email confirmation. She still looked confused and repeated what I said to the manager on the phone. After talking on the phone for even longer, all she told me was the manager will call me. I was like why? Just get my refund processed already!?! I was late to the birthday dinner without the birthday cake I promised and I did not have more time to waste on talking to her so I left. All I got is a sorry when I left. I got an email that night before 10 pm to say that "your refund is in the work". I will believe it when I check my credit card balance. The lady working here gave us some cheap plastic white spoons with our ice creams instead of the regular pink BR spoons. Those flimsy white spoons will break, and certainly is not the BR experience. When I asked her to replace, she said- 'that's all we have. We don't have the pink spoons.' I insisted. She gave me one BR pink soon, not sure if it was clean. When I was leaving the shop, I saw a tub full of pink BR spoons, which she was handing over to other customers. Strange! Bad costumer service. Went here with my 3 year old daughter and wife. Ordered three cups of ice cream. Half way through our daughter had to use the bathroom. They worker said that they had no bathrooms, which is a lie. I understand if you don't allow people off the street to use your bathroom, but to not allow paying customers, including potty training children show a lack of customer service. I came here because I was craving some ice cream, but I wish I would've went to Salt & Straw or Smitten's down the street. I wanted to sample a new flavor they had (baseball nut) because it sounded interesting, but they aren't giving out samples. Why would I want to order it if I don't even know how it tastes? All other ice cream shops I've been to have allowed multiple samples. I ordered my ice cream to go and they packed it in a bag for me without any spoons. Service was ok. 3.5 stars. I ordered a 2 scoop green tea ice cream + whip cream. The scoops we're nice and big and I could not wait to dig into it when I get home. Sadly as I ate it I noticed ice Crystal's throughout both scoops of ice cream the ice cream must have been sitting in their freezer for months, it had that consistency of ice cream that has been left in your freezer for years and you pull it out and eat it has ice crystals all over it, yuk! The ice cream cake I ordered for my son was on point. I got out of a meeting early and decided to pick it up hours prior to my scheduled pickup time. The cake was already done and waiting for me! The entire order was done online, and I was able to customize the message and text color. It was a very smooth and quick process. The employees were very friendly and let me know they were available to help if I had any questions. I don't know about the other reviews, but I haven't had ice crystals in any of the ice cream I've purchased over the years from this place. Maybe it's because I just eat the more popular flavors or like to come on the 31st every other month for great deals. Baskin Robbins JAMOCA ALMOND FUDGE is my favorite flavor and has been all these years. But... These latest years I've been noticing there's VERY LITTLE FUDGE SWIRL in that flavor, and I get it every time. I'm sitting here eating two scoops of it right now and it's more like Jamoca flavor. So worth the drive.. Valley Fair BR is right around the corner but that place is soooo not worth it. This place- Banana Royale- attention to detail in my sundae, generous with hot fudge and toppings, hot fudge didn't melt my ice cream into complete soup. Also, good service. I assume the guy maybe the owner- he was very nice and even asked if the banana was ok because it was slightly green. The banana was fine, just needed to be sliced a little thinner. Terrible service. Yes, our bad for accidentally ordering the wrong item. Ordered oreo shake instead of oreo cappuccino blast. Didn't realize the error until we received the item. The guy just stood there and stared at us and refused to make what we actually wanted. We ended up walking out and not buying anything. Sorry, but if I cannot leave with the item I want, I am not giving you my money. Yes, our bad for the order mistake....but to just stare at us and refuse to make the correct item and not even offer to add coffee or something to the shake was terrible service. Never again. I used to work at Starbucks. Sometimes customers even lied and acted like they didn't order the wrong item when they did, but I always remade what they wanted so they could leave happy. I took my 3 year old son to have some ice cream, the person that helped us was very nice (that's the reason they are not getting 1 star). My son is potty trained and needed to use the bathroom, I spoke to one of the workers who was standing next to the bathroom to use it and she said it's not for customers, I explained to her that we are not done with our ice cream and we won't be able to hold it in she didn't care and basically told us to go across the street to Taco Bell. If the place was packed I would understand (even though a place that have kids all the time should have a bathroom) but we were there by ourselves. They keep it pretty clean here, considering how much traffic they get being located right across the street from Valley Fair Mall. If this wasn't the closest BR to my house, I would definitely be going elsewhere for my ice cream needs. I get a sundae typically once a month. The last three times I've went to get one on different days and times, they have been out of brownies. Do they keep like 2 brownies in stock? It really depends on who you get to serve you as well. There's this young guy who barely gives you ice cream in the evenings. Look dude, I'm paying like $3 a scoop here, put some muscle into that scooping, I'm watching you lol. Okay, so I'm old school. I still adore the 31 Flavors. I don't really care for Cold Stone, I still love Baskin Robbins and this is one of the only ones left. Staff is not bad, you can't expect too much because it's ice cream not a steakhouse. They're not rude, they give you your ice cream what more can you want. I haven't been on like one of those free nights, but I imagine it could be a different experience because when you are giving out free things people tend to try to make themselves seem like charity more than they need to. read more
