We visited Bunbury's several times over the course of a long weekend trip to visit my brother, who…read morelives across the river in Hastings-on-Hudson. We felt warmly welcomed into this tight-knit community coffee shop, and even felt as though we were remembered from day-to-day as we came back. It's a family run business, where "Mom" is in the back baking up treats, the daughter(s?) were out front serving customers and making drinks. One thing that caught me off-guard, was after a couple sleepy mornings of getting coffees and baked goods, over the weekend, the influx of cyclists was incredible! I didn't realize that Piermont was along a very popular cycling route, and Bunbury's was clearly a favorite stop of the cyclists! It was really cool, and the employees didn't skip a beat - they were moving everyone along very efficiently, and still delivered top notch service! I'd highly recommend Bunbury's Coffee Shop to anyone in the area seeking a delicious, freshly prepared drink, or fresh baked goods!

Seating is limited, there are board games and books. The service was very friendly and prompt, the pricing is fair, I paid $8 for a muffin and a large coffee. It was one of the best chocolate muffins I have ever had! So fresh and so delicious, highly recommend it. I'll be back.

Really enjoyed the food here on Mother's Day…read more Made a reservation for an early dinner online, for outside seating. Didn't think to check if they were honoring that given the holiday, since it turned out to be first come first serve no reservations. Inside reservations were being taken, there was a bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Our party of 3 ordered the octopus and an arugula salad as an appetizer. The octopus was divine - would come back for this specifically. We split entrées and ordered the short ribs, orrecchiette, and Chilean sea bass. Pretty big portions and the flavor to match! A huge kudos to the hostess up front, who navigated a pretty grumpy crowd with such grace. Understandably, it was a very busy day, and the restaurant was packed. We probably could've used a bit more attention from the waiter after we were seated, as we would've liked another cocktail, but overall a great experience. Looking forward to coming back.

This restaurant has so much potential... great location by the Hudson, the menu sounds delicious,…read moreand a party room available if needed. Unfortunately, we were left feeling pretty underwhelmed. First off, the food took quite long to come out. Nobody came to the guests of honor to let them know what was going on. It wasn't until the guests of honor said something to the staff that everything "sped up". It was all very reactive instead of proactive. Secondly, the food was left a bit to be desired. The chicken parmigiana was unfortunately pretty dry for something that had sauce, while the salmon (although moist) lacked a bit of flavor and could have used a sauce. Make it make sense please?! Some of the items seemed like they were not made from the scratch, i.e. the pizza and the crispy mashed potatoes. The best dish of the night was the penne vodka. I honestly wish they brought more of that out, but for some reason the portions for that dish were quite small. It seemed like they just ran out of that dish, and just put any small amount on the plates. Towards the end of the night, it just seemed like the staff stopped caring about the guests, and were just phoning it in. They barely came to check on us. Even any chain restaurant would do something as easy as that. At some point, even the drink orders came out wrong. Sprite instead of water for all of the guests, coffee for people who didn't order coffee, alcoholic drinks that were given to the wrong guests. And literally nobody was there to help the guests of honor cut and serve the cake. The guests of honor had to use a butter knife to cut the cake because nobody came to provide a proper knife or even offer to take the cake and cut it. With the slow service and the amount of time the food took to come out, I think it would have been more understandable if the food was amazing and/or presented well, but it was honestly as pretty basic as you can get. All in all, I feel pretty bad for the guests of honor that they had to experience such a thing: Basic food, inattentive service, and lackluster management.

Hinode is fine for a sushi meal - nothing especially memorable except for the lovely waitress who…read moregenuinely aims to please. That said, if you're craving raw fish it's convenient for a Piermont resident, affordable, easy to get a table, and takeout is always an option. A lot of the menu leans toward rolls drenched in heavy sauces which makes it hard to tell just how fresh the fish really is... or isn't. But if you order a sushi entrée, it does come with soup and salad. They also serve Nigori sake, not always a given at more middle-of-the-road sushi spots, so that's a definite plus if you like the milky stuff like I do. It's easy, it's quiet, and they'll occasionally throw in a few extra pieces, which is always appreciated. Being right off 9W makes parking simple, proving that in Piermont easy parking does still exist, even if it's not where you expect it.

Small, not many cars, middle of nowhere and an "Open" neon light in the window. Inside, it's a quaint and very welcoming. About 10 - 12 tables, lots of wood and a sushi bar as the main attraction. We were the only ones in there **, so we took the opportunity to ask the waiter some questions. To our surprise, Hinode has been open for 21 years. From our own perception, it looks family owned. We saw 3 generations working that day. We were in the mood for sushi, so that's what we came for. But we did start with the Shumai Dumplings. Which were so delicate, tiny and full of flavor. Next time we'll get two orders. Sushi Cupcake, 2 Special Rolls (one with Shrimp Tempura & one loaded with fish) and a Tuna/Salmon Avocado Roll which was compliments of the Sushi Master. In other words, Free ! Everything was super fresh and delicious. So much so, that nothing was left. Washing it all down with their Roasted Green Tea is a must. ** We went on President's Day at 4pm Most likely, it just opened
