Ice cream is fresh and delicious. I placed an order through DoorDash and had an issue with the order. The wrong item was delivered to me. DoorDash refused to help me with the matter so I called Carvel. The team at Carvel were professional and understanding and fixed the issue immediately and in real time,. This evening I asked for a soft ice cream to go and a flying saucer. There were no individual flying saucers in the case so the older women went into the back and got one and handed it to me already wrapped. When I got home the soft ice cream cone was fine, but the flying saucer was obviously real old because the ice cream actually had a stale crust all around it. It was like licking cardboard, and I threw it out. Was this woman so desperate to make the sale that she couldn't just say we're out of them right now, is there something else you would like? That she gave me stale goods shows a real contempt for her customers, and I don't intend going back. read more

This is the only location where I order the chain's Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Sundae Dasher and it doesn't include peanut butter cups or peanut butter sauce. Every other location I've been to does, seems like there's no regard for the chain's consistency of product at this location. I've had enough of this location.. I'm sticking with the Nanuet carvel. The workers always act like you're bothering them and the lady running the place isn't too nice either. You pay 11+ dollars for 2 medium sundaes, they ask if you want whipped cream and cherry (as if that's not what a sundae includes) then come home to find them almost half full and hollow in the middle.. I understand you have to make money but at least give customers what they pay for and don't be so cheap. But then again, the owner has to pay for her Lexus parked out front.. Like I said, the Nanuet location is a ray of sunshine compared to this place. They remember our names, they are always happy to see us, make conversation while they work and always give you a nice big cup of ice cream. read more

I love this Carvel. We come from Montvale because we like it so much. Only disappointing thing happened when we ordered a cake for my daughter and birthday. The cake looked like a 10 year old decorated it. Very sparse with minimal crunchies when we ordered extra. The cake also looked smaller than it should have been. Very disappointing. read more

HORRIBLE. I walked in at 9:30, with the door wide open and the "open" sign flashing brightly. I approached the counter and the lady mumbled something and laughed at me. I said "excuse me?", with no response. After a few more seconds of being laughed at, the lady behind the counter said "I can't help you". Terrible service. I was ignored, had to repeat my order multiple times, and STILL they got my order wrong. After I pointed out that my order was incorrect the worker then told me that I WAS WRONG. Half of the ice cream was melted and the other half was freezer burned. The workers looked as if they haven't showered in weeks, I was disgusted. I had my son's 5th birthday party yesterday and we got an ice cream sheet cake. Besides being absolutely delicious, it was custom made with less than 24 hours notice. I was in a bind as my original order fell through last minute, so I called Carvel (even though it was a bit out of the way for us) to see if they could make me a cake with top looking like the ocean. The party was shark themed and I had little shark pieces to arrange on the cake. They did a fantastic job, the sharks looked like they were actually swimming and my son LOVED it. All of the guest raved about the chocolate and vanilla and the fudge filling and asked where I got the cake. It's our new favorite ice cream cake and worth an extra 15 minutes to get. read more

I wanted to give this particular carvel 2 stars rather than 3 but the quality of their soft serve was too good to warrant only two stars. I didn't have a very pleasant experience with the customer service at this carvel. First of all I was very disappointed that they did not have Nutella soft serve. This was the only reason why I went there. I had to settle on vanilla. I asked for a sample and the employee seemed like it was unheard of to ask for a sample. There were two people working, the owner and an employee. The owner only seemed concerned about having a conservation with the other person in the shop rather than getting my order. I had to wait a long time to place my order. I ordered a medium vanilla soft serve in a waffle bowl with crunchies topping. The soft serve was super stingy. I thought they had accidentally given me a kids size. It was way over priced. The waffle bowl was only $.59 extra and the topping was $.50. The topping portion was actually pretty generous. The employee took forever to run my credit card through the machine. I stood there and waited as my ice cream wad melting. Their topping bar was nothing special. They only had your average toppings. Finally I got to take my order to my car and I weighed the soft serve on my food scale. Sure enough I was right about it being under sized. Everything weighed only 10 ounces including the bowl and toppings. That's not what I call a medium. It would've been a very disappointing experience if the soft serve did not taste so good. read more

I purchased an ice cream cake for my dogs birthday and I have to say the decoration was not nice,they used fake sugar flowers not real ones made of cream like I have gotten in the past at other Carvel's. They put one flower on a medium sheet cake in the corner of the cake and added some leaves. I'm no decorator,however I feel they should have put a few more flowers to make it look festive. While I was there to pick up my cake I felt like having a large vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles,Well let me tell you the person who waited on me was not friendly,dressed very sloppy no uniform and had no way about her.She gave me my cone and cake and I walked away.The ice cream cone tasted like it was tasteless,no taste at all I say this because some of the other Carvel's I have been to the ice cream tasted very creamy but not this Carvel. I also felt the price was high for my cake.lastly the store looked run down,dirty and old like the employees. Not a pleasant or cheerful place. The WORST carvel ever. I'm always in this plaza however if I want Carvel, I head over to Nanuet where customer service is key and know a lot of their customer's name! Walked in for a night snack, two hours to close there's a girl sweeping and from the door calling to the back "we have customers." They must've been doing their nails because I interrupted something. Sorry. Anyway, then their two for one Tuesday special didn't apply at this location. Then I was overcharged. Hey someone has to pay for the lack of customers. Bs. And the ice cream wasn't even good. My 17 year old son was employed at this Carvel during February 2015. The owner, a lady named Madeline, was kind enough to drop him off at home at the end of his shift. He enjoyed the job tremendously. Feeling comfortable with Madeline, my son shared that he takes medication to help him manage depression and anger. Madeline called me and asked me to stop by, as she was "worried" about my son I stopped by after work. Madeline assured me that my son was doing a "wonderful job" , but now that she is aware that he is "defective", she cannot allow him to return to work. She stated that she has a "dark basement filled with many sharp objects", and that she was fearful for her life when she last dropped him off. Keep in mind that the boy never did anything wrong at work. This is a clear violation of his rights. In addition, I later learned from my son that employees at this Carvel location DO NOT WASH THEIR HANDS OR WEAR GLOVES WHILE PREPARING the ice cream. read more

Although the Reese's soft serve that I ordered was delicious, I'm confused how a junior-sized ice cream and a small-sized ice cream with sprinkles added up to be $9.00. In my experience, no two basic soft serve ice creams should ever add up to be more than a few bucks. Cold Stone Creamery would have been a better choice for the price that we paid. read more
