We love this place ! This year we stopped in on National Ice Cream Day (unknowingly). We were itching to try their rainbow cookie ice cream. It lived up to the hype. Everything about it was great. The ice cream had a subtle almond flavor and the chunks of rainbow cookie were perfect (in size and dispersion). Death by chocolate is always a favorite and doesn't disappoint. At the end of a long work week, my colleague and I stopped by Twist & Shake on our way back home. There's only a few parking spots but I'm so glad we made it work. I had a small peanut butter soft serve and my friend had a small pineapple/watermelon swirl dole whip. Both were delicious! At $11 for both, it was a little pricey but totally worth it. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely be making a stop. There are picnic tables around the building but no indoor seating. read more

Gave this place 4 only because the 5 star goes hands down to King Kone in Pearl River. They dont make classic vanilla and orange twist here and thats disappointing(especially when "Twist" is your name- maybe add it?. My wife and I then ordered egg cremes that we havent had for what seems ever- way back to our "yuths". They were a staple on LI during the 60s and were so good. So I went with my vanilla and my wife got chocolate. They were "ok" not overwhelming or "wow". The parking is atrocious and at times dangerous. Why they have parking spots in front is kind of strange actually when the lines form there and block motorists from parking. In our case it was pure defiance as we were on a long slow line and the people behind us said when a car was looking at us to get in - "ignore em we dont move- let them go away" and we just stood our ground and off they went. A real busy place like KK and obviously good. Its always nice to see young kids acting well and laughing and enjoying their time without any bad manners as was case this night. Perhaps we need to try ice cream next time for a better opinion but 4 stars not bad. read more
