I drove 20 minutes for frozen yogurt and I had my mind set on cheesecake and peanut butter. The website was specific but wrong. I opted for chocolate and peanut butter and was pleasantly surprised how good they were. It wasn't what I wanted but it will do. I guess calling ahead would be prudent if you want something specific that's lists on the site. $6 for a half full small cup. Not cheap. I'll probably explore other places before heading back. Cool and fun place! First time we tried a ice cream/ yogurt place. Lots and lots of choices and a large selection of toppings. The employees were very friendly, helpful and explained the process to us in a pleasant manner. Just a local hang out for the teenagers in the area, which is okay but does get rather loud. read more

The flavors are very tasty, the inside looks good, and the staff are friendly. Got the pistachio, cheesecake, mango, and raspberry pomegranate, a little bit of everything. It is delicious, though a little bit on the expensive side as the yelp dollars tell you (it's $.80 an ounce, and we did like for egg sized for pumps) and it came out to $7. still was nice to try and tasty. read more

But here was my experience: my son and I walked in and got our own cup, went and got our own ice cream, put all of our own toppings onto the ice cream by ourselves, put the ice cream onto the scale for it to be measured, was never asked if we needed help, was never offered assistance, was never addressed in anyway whatsoever, and when the total came up on the screen, it asked if I wanted to leave a tip? A TIP!! FOR WHAT??!!! All of these places that have human beings working working with any kind of food at all now assume that you can just ask everybody to tip to get even more money, that we don't have, so that we can pay your employees for you?!! So you don't have to pay them as much?! We're all in hard times!! Perhaps the management would like to be able to give their employees more money and so they put the tipping option there. But it's not my responsibility to make sure that your employees have a livable wage. It's your responsibility to do that!! Not only that, at most establishments now we have to pay your credit card fees!! You cannot continue to bleed the middle class to death and expect that we won't have a massive economic collapse on our hands. It may seem like a small thing, but the constant social pressure to tip a person who is staring right at you is utterly preposterous an exhausting! Clean place run by kids who are friendly. They have outside tables. Although eco friendly they are not. Instead of hand sanitizer and wiping down surfaces every half hour they provide gloves which you must use and take two of ( even though you can hold your cup in an ungloved hand and scoop and pour with a gloved hand) if you're eco conscious is suggest going to king kone instead although you cand make your own they have all the toppings and are a bit cheaper too . read more

I'm not from the area, however the 16 handles here in new city is wonderful. It is very clean, and is constantly being cleaned even while you're there. The staff makes sure the floor is sparkling and wipes up any mess as soon as it happens. And the counter is constantly being cleaned whenever there is spillage or crumbs from toppings. Very friendly staff who are talkative and helpful and overall very nice. Some of the flavors are different than the ones by my house on Long Island however I don't mind, I like being able to try different flavors. Their coconut flavor is delicious!!!! And their cold brew is so tasty, just like drinking coffee! Their peach is like biting into a fresh peach, not too sweet like other flavors there. The only downside (in my opinion) is that they just went kosher so you aren't allowed to enter with any outdoor food/drink, and this is a bit of an inconvenience being that the location is in the center of a small shopping center with many food joints. Super clean. It gets very busy on the weekends at late at night during summer weeknights, but the employees do their best to keep things moving. I'd suggest going to the room in the back to sit down because it's generally empty so you have the space to yourselves, unless it's nice out and you can eat outside! They offer coupons in the Pennysaver and also the chain has a rewards program so that you can earn points and eventually free yogurt. I love that the Euro Tart is a staple and they NEVER get rid of it, because that's my favorite and I get it every time. I also love that the fruit is always fresh and not a canned, goopy, pie-filling type of fruit topping. It's ACTUAL fruit. Hooray! read more

Very good customer services, super nice staff and all the flavors were amazing! I ended up buying their taro root flavored ice cream and it was delicious. Pricing is kind of high, but definitely worth it because the quality of the ice cream and toppings matches the price. Toppings are always stale. I order for my coworkers and the walnut we're terrible and stale. The sprinkles, taste like clay. I asked the worker as well, if the topping were fresh she said yes. I called and asked if we can get fresher walnut, the manger said he would return my call, but never did. There ice cream was very good, but stay clear from there toppings. read more

Went for the first time last week, AMAZING flavor selection! Was very happy with the toppings as well. Store was clean, workers were friendly. A few points of criticism, the workers have to come get you a sample in a sample cup, should consider just giving people one when they walk in as I have seen other stores do. Much easier. Also after I had paid and was walking out I heard the cashier offering to the people behind us to sign up for the reward zone, including that purchase. This was my first time ordering (online) from this place. So, I couldn't believe how expensive this was 6.95 for a small, $2.00 extra for a medium total plus tax came to $9.70 REALLY!! My granddaughter wanted the marshmallow flavor in a cup, so how can I say NO to her. Love this place! I especially love their variety of fresh fruit toppings and their unique froyo flavors! I recommend becoming a rewards member and downloading the app since you do get a free $5 credit!! The only thing is that since they are kosher, you cannot bring outside food into this place. This 16 handles is located in a big plaza filled with restaurants and other eateries. We had gotten dinner next door and packed it up to go and wanted to get 16 handles right after. We were told we cannot come in with outside food so we left to drop our food off but didn't come back since we did park far away and didn't feel like walking all the way back in the cold. I visited the third Avenue store today. The conditions were deplorable. It was filthy. The bathroom had not been cleaned at opening, therewere crumbs everywhere. The floor was sticky and dirty. There were yogurt remnants all over the dispensing handles. The staff was disinterested and complacent. It should be reported to the health department. They have a dairy-free frozen dessert available, so they get 2 stars for trying, but the flavor is poor. Really poor. I have inquired several times, and I've been told they have a new diary-free flavor every month, but I've checked it out again and again, and it's always the same two flavors: a terrible orange or an equally bad pink berry. The orange tastes artificial, and the pink tastes like it's flavored with cough medicine. Often, the non-dairy flavor is not changed for months at a time, but even when it does eventually change, there never seems to be another flavor other than the orange and pink. The rest of my family (non-vegans) love this place, so I go along. On the plus side, the fruit toppings are usually fresh and very appealing, so I end up with a cup of fruit. The fruit is good, but it's a let-down when you're looking for a frozen treat. And with so many good non-dairy sorbet and frozen fruit options available elsewhere, it seems like they are just going through the motions of providing a non-dairy offering. read more

With froyo stores being so up and coming I thought I would give 16 Handles a whirl. Needless to say I will not be returning. Good grief, where do I begin? The help is absolutely useless and immature. The staff curse incessantly and have an utter disregard for the customer. I asked the girl at the counter how the process worked and she said, and I quote: "You put stuff in the cup and pay." With regard to the product, the toppings were stale and unsavory. The yogurt itself was decent, but it was certainly nothing that justified the experience as a whole. Oh how I've longed for a 16 Handles in New City! I've been to other 16 Handles in Manhattan (which I adore), but since this store has opened, I am able to get my fix whenever I want! The best part of this place is the customization. There is something for everyone: No Sugar Added, Fat Free, Tart, Sorbet... You name it, this place has it. Best yet, so many of the flavors taste like *real* ice cream. I dont know how they do it, but i love it! It is also fun to stop in and check out the rotating "Flavor of the Month"! After you self-serve your yogurt, you can add as much (or as little) of the toppings as you desire. Of which, the staff are always cleaning and refilling. There are sauces, cheesecake bites, cookie dough... the list goes on! The amount of options are endless. They also cut their fresh fruit daily, which is a huge plus considering other places in the area have frozen fruit (um, gross). They always have fun music playing, so its a great environment to hang out with friends, or even stop in with the fam. Their flat screen TVs keep the guys happy when the Knicks are playing too! The employees are always friendly and helpful. I've noticed they are constantly cleaning and watching over things, which is very re-assuring as I tend to be a germ-aphobe :) Overall, 5 Stars! Very nice yogurt place off of main street, always looks like it does good business, but sone of the 16 Handles location closed. They have a nice selection of yogurt from coffee, to raspberry, and peanut butter. The yogurt is charged by weight, and it's easy to go overboard on the toppings.
