Carvel 240 S. Summit Ave…read more Hackensack, NJ 07601 Carvelanche I was definitely craving a dessert equivalent to the well known Blizzard. First and foremost, I was impressed with the variety of ice cream flavors offered. In addition to traditional vanilla and chocolate, there was also strawberry, toasted marshmallow, and even pumpkin. I decided to choose toasted marshmallow soft serve along with fudge as the topping. The dessert was smooth, rich and creamy. The marshmallow blended perfectly with the fudge. My main critique is that I was expecting an actual fudge bar for the added topping, not fudge syrup. I was hoping to chew bits and pieces of the chocolate treat. I'm really looking forward to exploring other flavors of the Carvelanche dessert. Next time I will be sure to stick to crushed candy pieces or cookies instead. #carvel #carvelanche #hackensacknj #carvelicecream

He was very friendly and introduced us to their products. They have a wide range of flavors and types. (Water ice, cream ice, hard ice cream, and their own way of making their hard ice cream into soft ice cream. I selected two flavors, dulce de leche and pumpkin pie. They fit a good amount into a regular sized cup. The ice cream itself was delicious, felt decadent and the flavors were pronounced. My daughters and father in law enjoyed their desserts as well. I don't go out for ice cream all the time but when I do, I've got a new favorite!

Very sweet and "real" (what does "not real" mean?) ice cream ordered at the counter. Because the…read moreportions are large, the price was easier to accept. We came on a Saturday early evening and enjoyed a few flavors (banana puddin, graham street, and cookies and cream). Overall the flavors aren't super unique and the excessive sweetness was a bit much considering the portion size. Three scoops in a waffle cone is enough for two or maybe three people. It also wasn't very hot that day and the ice cream kept melting out of the cup and cone. The texture of the ice cream was much softer than at some spots. Not a bad thing necessarily but messy nonetheless. Service was friendly. There are a couple tables and a bench to enjoy your treat. Or walk into town and walk off those calories. Parking is available behind the location but there's also street parking that's paid around 8 am-6 pm every day except Sunday.

I ordered an ice cream sundae for $17 and was honestly shocked when it arrived. The portion size…read morewas incredibly small there was barely enough ice cream for a few bites, literally about three spoonfuls. For a dessert at that price point, I expected something that at least resembled a full sundae. I understand that restaurants have different pricing structures and presentations, and I don't mind paying premium prices when the quality and portion justify the cost. However, what I received felt completely out of proportion to the price charged. It was disappointing to spend $17 on a dessert and leave feeling like I had barely been served anything at all. The ice cream itself may have been fine, but the value simply wasn't there. A sundae should feel like a treat, not a sample. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, and I hope management takes a closer look at the portion sizes being served because this experience did not meet expectations.

Everything tasted super consistent as I hope a franchise to provide, flavorful smooth ice and a nice custard but the real appreciation I had for this location was for its cleanliness. There's no aftertaste to their ice cream like a lot of the other ice cream places in the county. Service is good, but sometimes the portions can be a little inconsistent, but that also usually depends on who's serving. It doesn't happen often though. The place is a little small inside, but they have chairs and tables to enjoy your treat outside. It may not be all perfect, but I will take their ice cream over anyone else's.

The line was fairly long when I visited, but it moved quickly thanks to the efficient staff. This time I tried the Georgia Peach ice cream. Even so, Kilwins delivers exactly what you'd hope for: quality ice cream, a great atmosphere, and plenty of tempting treats beyond just the frozen desserts. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back to try more flavors.
