Recently moved to this area and this bashas is the closest grocery to my home. Was really looking forward to shopping here. Unfortunately after my first few visits i have been less than impressed. Specifically with the employee karen In the bakery. On multiple occasions i have gone in there during the evening to get some donuts for my kids and both times she has had a bad attitude, lack of customer service and frankly doesnt seem like she cares to even be there. I don't usually come on yelp and leave reviews but this left a bad taste in my mouth and i felt it needed to be addressed. read more

Love this Bashas'! They just added free fruit for kids while parents shop. I love their clearance racks for produce and bakery items. Awesome playlist of music. Prices are comparable to or lower than other stores. They also have great store coupons and will double manufacturer coupons (up to $1). Use their app for personalized savings! Great customer service too! Once I had to stand in line for a couple extra minutes because the register was acting up. Not a big deal since I wasn't in a hurry, but the clerk insisted on giving me $10 off as a courtesy. You won't get that at other stores!! We have ordered several birthday cakes in the bakery. Went to get some baby shower items and needed balloons. A ver nice man came and blew them all up for me and chatted with me. Such nice customer service at Basha's and I love the covered parking. They really do care about their customers!!! read more

I was thrown out of the store when a man walked up to me and questioned me about my service animal. He demanded that I tell him what my disability was and that the Americans with Disabilities Act allows him to question me and that neither me or my service dog was allowed in the store. He said all of this to me in front of several people that were standing around me. He is NOT allowed to even ask about my service dog, nor is he allowed to ask about my reasons for needing a service dog at all. It is a violation of HIPPA and against the ADA for anyone to question me at all. He insisted that the ADA allowed him to treat me thus. I will never patronize that store again, nor will any of my family or friends. I have never been so humiliated. I have never posted a review of any business ever before. I am not going to tolerate this kind of demeaning treatment by any person or business ever. Bashas, you need to train your employees better than this. This man had walked up behind the female cashier and started playing with her long braid, pulling it so her head came back a little and he was way too close to her. This man does not understand how to act professionally on any level and any authority he does have in the store should be eliminated as an employee. Still WIC and EBT heaven and the clerks do not know how to deal with this. Same thing..8 bottles of 40 and cigs paid with cash..then the baby formula with coupons...end up in a line from hell. Frys is alwasy busy..but MUCH better customer service. read more

What is the point of having self checkout when they only take certain kinds of payments i e credit only. When you're paying cash and you've got only one or two items that you need to purchase and then need to stand in a line behind people with three full baskets it's not very convenient. I prefer Bashas' over Frys. Bashas food quality is superior. Their bakery is excellent. Their donuts are high quality. Frys are barely eatable. Bashas' pizza is really good too. They use fresh ingredients and cook them in a real pizza oven. The produce is high quality. Their isles are roomy. I hate trying to push my cart through tiny isles like in Frys. True, Bashas is a little more expensive but, If you want quality, there is the saying " Quality is like buying oats -if you want nice, clean oats, you must pay a fair price; however - if you're satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse - such oats can be had a little cheaper!!" read more

The store itself is alright. Sometimes they have decent sales. Produce isn't always that great. We go mainly for the Starbucks, but the Ladies are always incredibly irritated. Not my fault they hate their job/life. Now that Frys has a starbucks I'll probably not be going back unless they overhaul their employee attitude. I worked at a starbucks in a grocery store. I understand how grumpy the customers can be, but it's your job to put on a smile and make the customers experience a good one. No matter how badly they need their coffee. read more

This store is far superior to frys. Their product quality is always on point and it is never crowded. The best thing about them is that they have the best pizza in maricopa...easily, and it is affordable. Say whatever you want about the slight price difference on some items, it's worth it to get quality. They have great staff that are always willing to help and are friendly. read more

We were big Basha's fans since the late 80's. We have lived outside of Maricopa for over 25 years. Used to shop at the Kyrene & Chandler Blvd store. Loved it until it they closed it. We started shopping at the Maricopa store the day it opened. Always great until around 7-8 months ago. Store always clean BUT: most produce shouldn't be out for sale. Rotton onions, horrible lettace, moldy bell peppers, etc. Items on sale ALWAYS SOLD OUT! Meat department wont do anything special for us. Ground meat on sale? Sold out, come back tomorrow! Always waiting in line to check out! We have been in alot of other Basha's and they are totally nice! Fountain Hills, Dobson & Chandler, etc. We won't shop at frys, (too busy), so back to the big city to shop. read more

Really. What an experience. Ordered two pizzas from the Bashsa here in Maricopa. Usually quite good, this time the cheese pizza was burned so I kept two pieces to take back to let management remind employees to not give out bad products. The man at customer service asked how he could know I bought it there since I had no receipt. Yep, as a 65 year old woman, my mission in life is to return pizza. I gave him my Bashas card and the credit card used to purchase the pizza. He went into a room, left me standing there for 10 min, then came back and said did you use this Bashas card, Never mind, I'll just be happy to write a review. Asked his name, no name tag. He said he is the manager. and your name is? Daniel he replied, and last name. G he replied and here he says, take your pizza. I know if I owned this store, my manager wouldn't have this attitude with customers. Yes. I did find my receipt on top of the pizza box in my trash upon returning home but I personally will never step foot in this store again read more

Covered Parking is great! now that it's getting hot, sorry I cannot say the same for the prices. They really need to compete with Fry's Grocery Store. Fry's parking is always packed, and I can always find parking at Bashas. read more

I recently purchased cooked shrimp from the seafood counter... Ugh!!! Worst shrimp I ever had!!! It was like chewing rubber! What a disappointment. It was old I guess. Bought it to make a shrimp cocktail and use the rest for shrimp scampi. Two items for superbowl Sunday grinds, sucked. Don't buy the shrimp from Bashas. You're better off buying the frozen one that's prepackaged. Will never go back there again. Fry's has better shrimp! read more

went to the bashas in flagstaff to pick up something on sale from the meat department they did not have any of what i wanted out so i went to the butcher i told him what i needed he said he was busy and would help me in 15 minutes so i went up to the front desk and told the store manager your meat dept would not help me with what i needed i said thats ok i will go to safeway so i did and paid the extra 26 cents a pound plus safeway has a better product than bashas read more

Stay away from this store since they are interested in not properly charging their customers for the services received by charging twice for the same item and their employees deny correcting their actions. read more

CUSTOMER BEWARE! This "Bashas", does not honor the prices listed in their current flyer. They charge you more at check out! So every time you go shopping on the basis of their current flyer, its reduced prices, I advice you to keep checking the price you are being charged at check out! Because they repeatedly charge you the regular price, not what their current flyer says. So, I advice you to check your receipts each time you go shopping at this Bashas location - and additionally complain, if you were charged an incorrect price! ... These are not single incidences, but this is going on for years now. (Recently with Reese's cabbage salad, which was on sale for $1.79 but sold for $1.99.) -- ... Even if it is just 10 or 20 cents per item, this adds up over the course of a month and especially for people that need to watch out every month over their food budget. - ... And someone else working at Bashas might be pocketing the additional money that is in the register each night instead. (And in Fry's, in Maricopa, this happens too often as well. So that makes us wonder so many times why "Trader Joe's" or "Fresh and Easy" are able to observe their prices ALWAYS! While at Bashas, Walmart or Frys, this deceptive customer practice is prevalent, especially here in Maricopa.) Nor does this Bashas put the correct on-sale price on the product shelves for the current reduced items, either. So anyone who does not go shopping by looking at the flyer will be charged normal price for it also, NOT the REDUCED PRICE! ... And if you complain about Basha's incorrect billing, they give you a stupid answer, that "they change their prices twice per week". Go figure this one out?????? We've never heard this from any other food store! Nor is Bashas flyer only half a week valid, but 7 days! But if enough people will complain they will be forced to stop with this deceptive practice! Additionally, we had repeatedly unexpired salads from the deli that - although eating it the same or the next day - they were already spoiled and caused stomach problems! The only positive thing that can be said about this Bashas is that it has covered parking. ....
