Two things kept this place from getting 5 stars. 1.) Our table was crazy wobbly. 2.) They are small and the only table we could get was a high top. My girlfriend is short and high tops are uncomfortable for her to sit at. Other than that, we had a great experience. Our server was attentive and helpful, and the food was delicious. My girlfriend got a burger, and I got a salad. I had gastric sleeve surgery last year, so I have a pretty limited diet. Glad we made the stop. We were not totally sure as it sits in a plaza. The inside is bar like and serves alcohol. Not a great place for large groups. Our service was quick. Drinks came quick. Their menu obviously offers a make your own burger. There is lots of appetizers to choose from pretzels, fried Mac n cheese, chicken strips and much more. The milk shake was very tasty and well worth it. The garlic Mayo was awesome and went with the burger well. They did not skimp on the topping I choose and they have plenty to choose from. Some kind of yum! Oh dear. Started with the Detroit Hail Mary - what a drink! Also a meal!! Had a Frickle (fried pickle spear), tater tots, cheese, large piece of jerky, olive, celery! On top of all of the accompanying goodies, it was delicious! Perfect spice level and beautiful to boot (be sure to check out the pic!). We ordered the Frickles as an appetizer and once again, home run! Then we each built our own burger. I went with Kobe beef, pretzel bun, smoked Gouda, crispy onion straws, bacon and mayo. Came here with a taste for chicken wings. According to yelp, they're pretty good. The place is smaller than what it appears like on the outside, but clean and fresh atmosphere. This place gets business for sure. I didn't know it'd be crowded. No worries though. We waited no more than 20minutes. *something cool here* they have super tall high chairs that match the tall tables. Just perfect for the babies / infants. The chicken wings were okay. The sauce comes on the side, not on the wings. I think I want to come back to try a custom burger. I love the fact they have so many options to make the burger exactly how you'd like it. Seems cool. Overall, the food was great but the service was lacking. The tiny place was packed when we visited on a Sunday around 3pm, but there seemed to be only 2 wait staff and a host/ runner/ busser. Not enough for such a bustling place. We would have probably gotten more to eat had the service been adequate, so I can't comment on the appetizers or milkshakes. Luckily though, what we ate was good. I made my own olive burger with 2 kinds of olives and the tasty garlic mayo. My sweet potato fries were good, but the cinnamon dipping sauce made it. Honestly this is an awesome place to grab a bite. Me and some friends checked in here before a movie and we where pleasantly surprised. Everyone got something different but everyone was happy with their purchase. I got the kobi beef burger topped with some fresh veggies and some nacho cheese. On the side I got a half order of fries and a full order or tater tots to split with the table. The food was made to order and was really good. My friend got the side of sweet potato fries and they where really good as I had to try them with their cinnamon dipping sauce. Not sure what was in it besides cinnamon but it was still pretty good. The service there was pretty fast considering how busy it was. Something worth mentioning is the size of the establishment its kind of small so with it being busy it was kind of cramped but they made good use of the space they have as it was not so crowded you could not move so kudos to the staff on that aspect. I paid for 3 out of four of my friends and the price tag for 3 burgers a single soft drink, a full order of tater tots and a half order of fries came out to be about 60 bucks (around 55 dollars to be exact not including a tip) so it's a little on the pricier side as they kind of nickel and dime you on the toppings for the burger so if you like your toppings it can get a tad expensive fast. The typical lunch joint when we travel to Ikea. It's a fairly small space, but they've made good use of it, including the addition of an actual waiting area, which most places don't seem to have... It's often times challenging to find a decent burger, but I really think they've got it right. This may not be THE BEST burger in the area (there are a few places that I put ahead of BBB), but's it's not far off. Build your own is the way to go, and there's a nice selection of everything, from protein to toppings to spreads; you can make a burger for any and every occasion/mood. Their Coney sauce (or Detroit chili) is spot on. I hold the National chili in high regard, and BBB nails it, and I think it has bit more spice as well. Killer on some fries! My first time at a basement burger bar. They have a few locations but we dined in Canton. It was about 7:30 on a Friday night and it was very busy. This location is very small. Bar seating for maybe 15 people and a small dining space. Don't expect here to come with a large crowd on a popular night. Decent beer selection. I found one on draft that I enjoyed (honey kolsch), but wouldn't write home about the selection. As for food, I had to do the build your own burger as a first timer. Very diverse selection of toppings and house made sauces. It was kind of overwhelming but in a good way! The burgers came out quickly and were very delicious (see photo for drool-worthy burg). For 2 people with two pints of beer, 2 build your own burgers and 1 HALF side of fires our bill was $45 with tip... I feel that's pretty expensive for what it was. Overall im happy I checked this place out, but won't be running back anytime soon. Perhaps I'll try the new Detroit location next time! read more

One of the best burgers I've had. The wait after ordering was longer than expected (probably about thirty minutes), and the place was nearly empty as we came between lunch and dinner. I returned to Basement Burger Bar and ate in-person this time. I had a much better experience! I love the dry-erase-marker build-a-burger. The service was great, and the list of available bottled beer was pretty decent. We didn't have to wait, although the place was definitely busy. My "garbage burger" (tons of odd toppings) was fantastic in a way that probably only I can appreciate, and my companion loved her meal as well. I'm glad I gave them a second chance after the poor take-out experience I had before, and will definitely come back. My friend and I managed to get into the Basement Burger Bar in Canton just as a blizzard was hitting. We weren't in a huge rush but I did have an hour's drive home in this weather afterwards. I love the concept of the restaurant. You get a laminated menu and pick out your burger options (bun,meat, cheese, toppings, sides) and even milkshake flavors with a dry erase pen. Then you give it to your server. We both got the Waygu beef on a Brioche bun with American and cheddar, I got pickle also, and then we both chose milkshakes. He got chocolate peanut butter and I ordered chocolate strawberry. I got fries also. Our orders came up quickly, there weren't many people in the restaurant. Everything was delicious. I think that was the best burger I've had in ages! For some reason there was a huge delay in making our milkshakes so we ended up taking them with us when we left. But they tasted great! Our waitress was so wonderful. She was constantly checking on us and getting us extra napkins and drinks. There are other locations but this one is closest to me so we'll definitely be going back just preferably in better weather! read more
