I went in for a manicure and pedicure. I wasn't told how much the gel on my toes were so I questioned the price. I paid because I should've asked first. However the same tech did my manicure. I had to ask her to please cut my cuticles. She said they charge to do that. If you're doing a manicure, shouldn't that be included? She did not cut it properly so I showed her how it shoul be done!!!! It took over two hours to finish my nails. A week today the gel is lifted of the nail. It was a gel builder and nail polish. Different from what I'm use too. I won't recommend them. They are friendly but this tech needs to stick to doing feet. Im so disappointed. The money spent was a waste and waste of time. read more

This salon is very nice and spacious! We were in the area and looking for a nail salon that would accommodate a child's pedicure. Of course we searched Yelp & found Mickey's Nail salon. Upon arriving, we saw a sign out front assured us this was the place. They've changed names a couple times (previously A1 Nails as well) but nonetheless they are open! I appreciated the amount of time each nail technician took on our pedicures. They didn't rush and we enjoyed the experience. They have two chairs available for children's pedicures! The chairs in the waiting area were so comfortable. I've literally never sat in a waiting room chair that felt like I was sitting at home on my couch. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

Tried this place on a whim, since I just moved to the area and got my first dip! Its now 2 weeks later and my nails don't have any chipping! I will be continuing to get my dip here! My daughter had the princess Mani and Pedi, and they have 2 cute pedi/mani chairs (She had the Ariel chair) and she really felt like royalty. My pedicure technician was personable and friendly. She left paraffin wax all over my legs and feet after the pedicure. The polish was applied sloppily on some of my toes. I got a male technician for my manicure. Not personable or friendly. The shape of my nails was uneven and so was the application of the polish. My naked nail was visible on the sides. It was visible near the cuticle on some fingers but not the others. There's a layer of fluid underneath the polish on my right thumb. It moves if I push on it. i went today to basecoat for a fill in and toe polish change and i was not happy with the results. i was told over the phone that the girls mother could do designs and i was expecting that the chrome would be fairly easy not to mess up. i chose the blue toned under color but the bubbles in the polish was obviously not something i asked for. and my toes (photo taken less than 3 hours after my appointment) look awful. not very happy with this visit. read more

Very beautiful salon ! My nail tech, Danielle, was so sweet. Did an amazing job on my nails and didn't rush me at all! The only 2 things that I hated was the fact that the girl (whom I think is the owner-Lori is what they kept calling her) barely greeted my sister & I. She finished up with one customer, didn't wash her hands, grabbed a towel, ran it halfway under the sink faucet, & wiped down our pedicure chairs. No sanitizer cleaning solution, nothing. Then she ran our pedicure water and walked away to do someone else's nails without asking us how the water temperature was. My sister's water was scorching hot so we had to interrupt someone else doing a service to adjust the temperature. The chairs were nasty. She also started the water by putting her unclean hands in our water. Second thing was the guy who was obviously family of the owner/Lori, stayed on his phone the entire time he checked us out, as well as other people. He had on basketball shorts and just wasn't professional. I'll come back bc they did a good job and they had wine. But if it's dirty like this time, I'll definitely be saying something on the spot read more

This nail salon was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The customer experience was severely lacking. I asked for the package with the paragon wax and was told one price. After they session started they told me it would be $20 more!! How is that event right I asked. They said the employee didn't understand me. I asked since it was her mistake can they not charge me the difference since I would not have picked this package. They said no since they already started. I asked again politely and they said no. This is called the bait and switch. They even had the audacity to ask for a tip after. I will never go tk this establishment again and I will be letting all my friends and family not to come here as well. read more

These nail salons come a dime a dozen. I had been coming to this salon for a few months and each time my experience was the same. I continued to go because the new owner Lowy at least did a half way decent job as far as doing nails, but her attitude is awful along with every other staff member in the salon. The last handful of times in particular, I was in the salon for over 3-3.5 hours - for a simple French tip (SNS) and basic pedicure. Not because it takes her 3 hours to complete my service, but because she would jump over to other clients/ walk ins and start their nails/ a body wax/ etc while in the middle of doing my nails when I had an appt to begin with. If I had another appt to make after, I would specify that each time before I sat down for my appt to start my nails because I know how they operate, and I wanted to make clear I didn't have 3.5 hours to sit in the salon each time I come in. One visit they suggested I do gel polish over my SNS powder. I'd already stated I don't prefer gel and wanted SNS. Just 5 days after getting them done, 7 nails had already come completely off. I was treated as if I was such an inconvenience when I came in to get them fixed. Even told that my nails "were fine" when I initially asked them to just soak them off and redo them. My last visit in (which should have been my very last) Lowy had her mother file and shape my nails, and because Lowy had taken in too many customers at once/ over booked the staff, she came over and told her mother "just hurry up and file them they don't have to be perfect" right in front of me. I explained to her mother I had already been there for 3 hours, at this point what's another 10 minutes to shape my nails, and to please not rush. They treat each and every client that comes in as a dollar sign, not as a paying customer who deserves even an ounce of respect. Today, I thought I'd give it one last shot. Lowys mother scheduled me for 10:00am. As I'm driving in I receive a text from Lowy saying she doesn't know why her mother scheduled me, she's not at the salon yet. I responded to confirm that her mother told me she was 20 minutes out, therefor told me to be at the salon by 10. No response. I texted Lowy again maybe 10 minutes later (as I was still driving to the salon) asking if I should still come in for this appt or not, again no response. I arrive at the salon and greeted by lowys mother, she says that Lowy called her back and told her tell me once I got there that she isn't taking appts today after all, but couldn't send me the text herself? Instead, made me drive all the way in wasting my time and my gas, just to be turned away when I get there. No regard for anyones time but their own. Zero customer service whatsoever. I truly regret even going back in and spending my money at this salon after them treating me and others so poorly each time. To add - I have referred my mother, grandmother, my husband, my MIL, neighbors and friends of mine to this salon. Each individual person had negative feedback about something that happened during their visit. If I could give zero stars I would. Please save your money and go elsewhere. I finally found a new salon today after branching out, and they did not disappoint. Shiny Nails in Matthews did a great job. They take their time, go out of their way to ask if you like the job they're doing or if they can fix anything before proceeding, and truly take pride in their work. They were so accommodating as I ended up bringing my little girl in with me. So kind and patient with her while painting her nails and toes. This was my fourth time going to this place. This time I was highly disappointed with the way nail technician carried out the whole process. When asked to cut the nails, without checking with me she went really short. My nails were not shaped Properly in the corner. First technician who couldn't fix my problem passed me to the other employee. There was no acceptance of the entire problem. Didn't offer any drinks or even water.
