I had to amend my previous review because after just 8 days, the manicure was lifting and peeling. I'm used to Gel manicures lasting at least twice as long. I don't know if it was due to the prep or polish, but I'm definitely disappointed with the lack of longevity. I stand by my praise for her cuticle work. All in all, I was expecting more with all the reviews. My experience may have been a fluke, but I don't know if I'll risk finding out. read more

The ladies here are fabulous! Best foot massages in town. Polish always lasts on my fingers & toes. They recently added a few more chairs for pedicures. While it's not a high-end, glamorous salon and their polish selection isn't as large as some other places, the price is right and they are very friendly. The shop became very busy while I was there but she did not interrupt my service which some other nail salons do so they don't lose business. I went to D&V Nails for the first time today after reading reviews on Yelp. It is about 2 minutes from my apartment and I thought I would give it a shot. I am most certainly glad I did! The place is clean, the women working there were all extremely polite and friendly, and I felt pampered and relaxed the entire time I was there. I splurged and got a pedicure and a gel manicure which set me back $65 ($30 for the manicure, $30 for the pedicure, $5 for French). Although a little bit more than I am used to spending it was well worth it. As a recently new resident to Charlotte, I know this nail salon is my new go-to. read more

First time there and I asked for a gel mani and regular pedi. I was told that someone would be with me shortly. Had to wait and after 20 mins I was asked by the owner, who was working on another client, to sit in a pedi chair and all 3 ladies were busy or not on the floor. The water was extremely hot and clearly no one checked it before seating me. Also, the basins were not lined. After waiting another 20 minutes one lady was working on my seat neighbor who walked in at the same time as I did. Another lady who didn't speak English cleaned the basin next to me with a sponge. A look around the pedi chairs made me wonder how this establishment received a grade "A" from the health inspector. Dirt and hair everywhere. The massage chair control was taped to the arm rest and was disgusting. Gunk everywhere. Same with the hand UV lamp. This is where it gets worse: they used the same instruments and file on everyone. They weren't even disinfected either between clients. The only thing that was utilized new was the callus file. The files were worn off and looked awful. The ladies also didn't wear gloves. Not once did anyone ask how I wanted my nails trimmed/shaped. Callus removal was done too quickly and not focused on the actual callus. The lady who cleaned the basin was the one who massaged and that was heavenly. On the first leg/foot she dedicated close to 10 minutes. The second one was rushed and she swooped up to grab the paraffin mask which was also super hot. Again, not asking if I was comfortable. The nails were painted by another lady and it wasn't as thorough as I've had before by other nail salons. Over the course of 1.5hr they turned away two clients because they were busy, however due to not working effectively. They charged me $60 for a mediocre pedi/mani, which is more than average. They left Credit Card receipts on the counter and very few people tipped. I only tipped $5. Can't really say I would return. Price is too high, ladies not communicative or acknowledging of new clients, thereby leaving a poor first impression. Boo. read more

Can't express how nice these women are and how attentive they were to detail and to the entire customer experience. The Mani was done after an extensive massage of the arm and hand just what I needed and the pedi was done very well too. My polish didn't come off until I took it off almost 2 weeks later and no it wasn't gel. The toes stayed on way longer too embarrassed to share how long. Walked in on a Saturday for a pedicure and there was no wait at all. The pedicure was PHENOMENAL! The massage on my legs was the best I have ever had with a pedicure. She massaged each leg for a good five minutes. She took her time to make sure the polish was perfect. The only thing that could have been better is a greater polish variety, but they had a color I wanted so I was happy! read more

One of the best places I have ever been to do my nail!! I tried too many nail places but this is my favorite. You can walk in without appointment but it will be better if u have one. Usually I go there to do Gel nails the cost is decent and the quality is terrific. Soen very nice lady she always do my nails. She takes her time shaping and cleaning nails. Very dissapointed in this business. I have been a loyal customer since 2010. Since June of 2014, I have been there 6 times and the service was terrible, I would walk in and be told they were busy or to come back. Mind you, there would be one customer in the building. A lot of times I would come in and the lady would be sitting on the couch watching tv and the man would work on one customer and be told they are busy. After the 7th time being pushed away, I am taking my business elsewhere. Very hurt and upset with this business. Don't be a consistant customer and tip well because you will be pushed away eventually. read more

I would go again. I am in search of a new nail shop. I went on a Saturday which is normally a busy shop day. They didn't have a lot of gel colors and hard to find color to match. I caught them at a down moment when two of the nail techs went to run an errand. That meant I was there about 30mins before I really got started. I was skeptical but turned out it was worth the wait. I was getting a gel nail polish change and pedicure. The only thing I didn't like was the lady who was soaking my gel waiting for techs to get back scrapped the gel off hard it was like she was rushing and should have just let the gel soak off. That was uncomfortable. The two techs who did my nails were very polite and did a great job! The pedi was amazing great massage and they use the wax too!! If I could suggest to them add drinks as a part of the service and I probably wouldn't have minded being there two hours. All in all good nail job I will see how long they hold up that's the real test. read more

I've experienced a number of nail places that claim to have great service but fall short. This place is a hidden gem for sure. I get the deluxe pedicure each time, and they always do so great on my feet. I'm a runner and they make them look and feel amazing each and every time. This latest time I splurged on shellac as well. I've never had a good experience with it staying on and looking great. That has all changed now. I use my hands a lot for work and as a mother, and they look great after four days of abuse.
