After a couple of disappointing experiences elsewhere, we were referred to Basecamp RV by our friend Kathy at Future Ford. We had a very specific type of travel trailer in mind, and Basecamp had what we were looking for. Finding the right trailer is only part of the process--the rest comes down to communication style, customer service, and making the experience as smooth as possible. From our first phone call, the Basecamp team was responsive, and easy to work with. When we arrived for our appointment, Erica gave us a thorough tour of the trailer and answered all our questions. The trailer was competitively priced, but we had been pre-approved for a specific amount and wanted to be sure everything would fit within our budget. While working with Erica, the owner, Skylar, took the time to come over and introduce himself. While there wasn't a lot of room to negotiate, he wanted to make the deal work and did what he could. We really appreciated that effort. The paperwork was straightforward, and a week later we returned to pick up our trailer. Their technician was thorough and made sure we understood how everything worked. As first-time travel trailer owners, we had a good experience. It was a smooth experience. From start to finish, Skylar, Erica, and the entire team made us feel comfortable. We would recommend them to anyone looking to sell or purchase an RV or travel trailer. read more

We had an amazing experience buying our camper here. Skylar and his team went above and beyond, even holding the camper for us for a week while we sold our toy hauler. The facility is super clean, cozy, and welcoming--you can tell they really take pride in the place. Everything was spotless and it even smelled amazing when we walked in. Nick did our walkthrough and was fantastic. He took the time to explain everything and made sure we were comfortable before we left. Skylar is very hands-on and clearly cares about his customers. Even if responses aren't always instant, it's because he's out on the lot helping people. We couldn't recommend this place more! read more

The whole process with the salesman was great and well as having them deliver it to us however within the year we've had it there has been CONSTANT leaks in the underneath of the trailer. It's parked completely stationary on property so no hard use to it. Unsure if anyone checks the trailers beforehand but it's kind of been constant problems with water unfortunately. read more

What a great Family owned Small business very refreshing. Skyler,Bud and the whole team did a great job. Have a large selection of Truck campers which is hard to find. The towable selection was very clean and organized. Really appreciate them very professional and extremely customer oriented. read more

I Used Basecamp to consign my class C RV. Skylar and Bud were professional, helpful and honest. I liked that Basecamp wasn't a giant motorhome superstore but a smaller more boutique operation where customers can actually talk to the owner. You get real service without having to dial extensions, wait on hold or sit in some cubicle for hours. Because it's a smaller business there's less red tape and more real interaction. If you're selling your RV/trailer or are looking to buy one definitely do your research and shop around but certainly give Basecamp RV a call or visit. I'm glad I did. read more

I drove 30 minutes to look at an RV that was still listed as available online. When I arrived, the older salesman told me it had just been sold. While I understand inventory moves quickly, the frustrating part was the lack of professionalism afterward. I asked if I could still quickly look at it since I had driven 30 minutes specifically to see the floor plan, and he responded with attitude and told me no. A simple heads-up before I drove out or a little courtesy when I arrived would have gone a long way. Disappointed in the customer service experience. read more

Love the staff and the business. Got a great deal on our first RV (2016, Lance 1995, amazing condition). It's a small business with an owner that has an eye for quality units! If they have something you want, go get it!!! Thanks Erika and staff...see you soon read more

Just purchased our second RV from Skylar and Bud at Basecamp RV! Our first expense was wonderful so we decided to come back when we were ready to upgrade. They gave us a fair trade in value from the one we bought from them a few years ago. Their new location in Auburn is amazing! They just moved here but have been in business for almost 10 years. We like dealing with a family owned business that is established. If you're looking for your next RV Basecamp is the place! read more

We visited two of their competitors earlier in the day, and left both feeling like we needed a shower. We were headed home when we stumbled across Basecamp, and we're so glad to have stopped. We had an urgent need for a quick purchase, and Skylar and Bud circumvented their normal process to help us out and accommodate our needs, even making an exception on form of payment. This is personal service at its best, and a perfect example of the value you can get from dealing with a small business owner who's looking out for the best interests of his customers. read more

Prompted to finally take time to write this after reading Jaafar M.'s review below. We could not have had an easier, more thorough, highly professional experience buying our first RV from Basecamp last month. We loved dealing with the sales rep for rig information, Skylar, the owner, for the financing aspect and Nick, who went over every square inch of the detailed rig with us before we drove it off the lot. We, too, wanted to look at a "sold" unit for comparison the day we found ours. We thought it was great that they said "no" to protect the interest of the new buyer. We also appreciated that there wouldn't be people traipsing through ours after buying it, and before we picked it up. If you're looking for a gently loved RV and Basecamp has, or can find the unit you want, I wouldn't go anywhere else. An awesome experience for us newbies and we can't wait to get it on the road! Our small businesses rely so heavily on reviews and referrals it makes me sad that someone would post such a negative review over a missed opportunity and a company's policy in place to protect the buyers they serve. read more

Basecamp RV is fantastic. A surprise move left us in a situation where we needed to sell our travel trailer quickly. I reached out to Skylar from Basecamp and he made me a fair offer and even arranged transport from my location. He coordinated everything flawlessly and expediently with the finance company, overnighting payment to both them and me. The RV industry can be difficult to navigate and is full of shady characters. Basecamp RV bucks this trend and is the benchmark for this industry. read more

Sean reached out to me based on my RV trader ad. He offered me the NADA private seller price on the first call then proceeded to ask me the same questions on several other calls. I actually listed a teardrop with these guys and had a change of mind as I watched it pull out of my driveway the day Sean picked it up! I gave it a couple days of pondering before calling them back to ask for it back! They had already spent time detailing it and advertising so they asked for a fee for their time which I gladly paid to have her back! They were very nice about the whole thing and if I ever decide I want to part with it I will surely look them up! read more

We bought a Motorhome from Basecamp in May 2023. As we were there to pick up our Motorhome there was a mechanic working on our newly purchased motorhome that was used. The owner stated they felt a slight miss in the engine and call their mechanic out to put in a new Coil and spark plugs, in the engine. Once the mechanic was done we drove off with the motorhome without testing it. (We were not thinking about testing and doing more research on the motorhome) We took it home and about a week late we took it to our destination in Truckee. We had to have it towed 1 mile from our destination. the mechanic that tow us stated it was only running on 6 cylinders instead of 8. That Monday we called Skyler the owner of the business Seeking information on what possible could be the problem. Guess What? no answer, or Call back. So we drove over and talked to his handyman, His Handyman stated he would let Skyler know what was going on and he would have Skyler call us. NO RESPONSE from Skyler at all. No callback or Communication at all. he just ghost us. So just be aware of what you are purchasing. I don't make a habit of doing bad reviews. I just felt he could have called us and talked to us. Sean helped us with selling our Camper Van. Super nice guy. Found a buyer quite fast.

Sean really worked hard to sell our rv. Skyler sealed the deal with a 10 hour non-stop effort. We'll done! I'm in my 70's and have had 4 rv's and six boats and never, ever had this level of a class act before. Congratulations! read more

We bought our Class-C RV from Basecamp about 4 months ago and since have been wanting to write a meaningful and thorough review but haven't had time. So here it goes...first, the buying experience with Skylar was probably one of the easiest and honest transactions we have ever experienced. The price on our RV was extremely reasonable when compared to other dealerships. Skylar went through all the paperwork very thoroughly and gave us a little history on the RV in order to provide us with enough information that assisted us in making a sound decision to purchase, as the RV was used. Skylar ensured that when we left with our newly purchased RV, it had new coach batteries, had it cleaned inside/out, and even had installed all new vent covers at no charge. Dan in Service walked us through the RV and ensured we became familiar with operating all the features when traveling...Dan was awesome! I have to say the great customer service didn't just stop at the time of purchase, it continued far after. As I fast forward to about a week ago, I went out to prepare our RV for a trip to the coast and discovered the power to the coach was completely dead. I did the normal thing and charged the batteries since it was sitting a bit. After leaving them on the charger overnight, they didn't seem to be charging. Although it was a few months after the purchase, I decided to message Skylar and ask about who to contact about a possible warranty exchange for the batteries, thinking I would have to pay a little pro-rated amount. Instead, to my surprise, Skylar's response was for me to just bring them in, and he would exchange them with new ones at no cost. Wow! I wasn't expecting that, and I was immediately reminded of that great feeling we had when we bought our RV from Skylar at Basecamp RV. The next morning (the morning we were to leave), I returned the batteries and Dan exchanged both of them with no issue. Dan even took his time and went through some troubleshooting ideas with me on what would be the possible cause of the battery issue. Prior to leaving, Dan provided me his personal cell number and said call him if I were to have any issues. The level of customer service continued to surprise me as I have made big purchases in the past but haven't received great customer service after the purchase as I did with Basecamp RV. So, if you are hesitant on going with a smaller dealership, don't be. Skylar and Dan with Basecamp are awesome! Thanks Skylar and Dan! -Bryan & Shannon- read more

We were very satisfied with all aspects of selling our RV to Basecamp RV Sales. Highly recommend them. Sean Millard contacted me through our ad in RVTrader. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He took a lot of time answering all my questions. When I decided it would be easier to just let him sell it, he agreed to meet us halfway to pick the van up. He had guaranteed me a price on day one and explained how they come up with that price. Are they making money? Of course. Could I have sold it for more privately? Probably. But I just wanted to be done with the hassle. Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! Paperwork was signed and 3 days later our van was sold! They handled everything. From DMV to paying our credit Union, it was all done quickly and efficiently. Both he and Skylar were available to answer any of our questions along the way. They are a smaller operation and I think this helps them sell the RV's quickly. Our RV ad was posted on their site the next day. They know what they are doing. Again, I highly recommend this company. read more

Recently I purchased a 2016 road trek rv from Basecamp and had a great experience. Bud showed us the rv and took it for a test drive then bought it through Skylar(excellent guy!). All done within about a half hour! But, when I came back to pickup my rv, Neil helped us(just for 10mins signing final papers). He was kinda condescending. Neil is the weak link here! When I first called to inquire about the rv, he sounded like I was bothering him so I hung up. But I was determined to buy this rv and I did. A week after I picked up my rv, I called to speak with Skylar or Bud, but I got Neil. I asked to speak with Skylar or Bud but he said he'll take my # and have him call me back. Again, not too friendly on the phone again. Waiting to hear back from Skylar to discuss final details. Overall, I recommend Basecamp and it would be good to deal with everyone else except Neil. Just my opinion and experience. read more

We had our RV listed for sale online for less than a week. We were receiving quite a few inquiries but nothing serious. We then received an intriguing message from Sean Millard at Base Camp RV. We reached out to Sean to get more information regarding the no cost consignment program he described offered through Base Camp. After speaking to Sean it sounded great. He was easy to talk to and knowledgeable. They made us a guaranteed offer we couldn't refuse. It would take all the hassle off of us selling the RV, no phone calls to field, no messages to reply to, no showings to set up, no haggling. I thought no way, this is too good to be true. It can't be this easy to sell our RV. I was very skeptical initially but Sean put us at ease and we drove our RV out to him at the Rocklin location the very next morning. He had all the paperwork ready for us to sign and we dropped RV and we were done in less than a half hour. Sean was very responsive to texts and phone calls. Actually all staff we dealt with at Base Camp were friendly and responsive. Sean was our main contact person at Base Camp and he kept us in the loop whenever we inquired about RV. Within three weeks RV was sold and our loan was paid off and our check for the difference was delivered over night to our home. Its refreshing to find someone that actually does exactly what they promise you they will do for you. Thats what Sean and the team at Base Camp did for us when selling our RV.
