Araye's Lollipop
Yaniv M.

Nice place overall with a good atmosphere and friendly service. The staff were welcoming and everything felt comfortable. I'm giving it 3 stars mainly because the food didn't have much flavor. The only thing I really enjoyed was the arais bites, which were actually very good. Other than that, nothing really stood out to me.

Great food, great vibe. Had a single malt, ribeye, and an excellent dessert recommended by the waitress. Amazing Israeli music and ambient. Pricey, but worth it. Service was excellent and the food delivered.

Overcooked Ribeye Steak

Ambience beautiful place. Very loud. Just keep that in mind Food was tasty, appetizer course was good. Things took a turn with the mains. The chicken was undercooked I only realized after I took a bit and had to check w my flash. Didn't get a picture cuz the waiter took the plate away quickly. Steak we ordered was very overcooked. Ordered medium and it was beyond well done and dry and it also arrived significantly later than the other steak dish for the table. The excuse was poor that there are 100 people in the restaurant, but what do they expect? That is what a full restaurant is. Doesn't excuse undercooked chicken and overcooked dry steak for $78. Also it was strange that outside vendors came in to sell flowers and balloons. Fun vibe but probably won't be come again.

Salmon carpaccio and Shawarma Flatbread
Martin G.

Basbussa is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the service felt warm, attentive, and effortlessly polished. The salmon carpaccio was pristine--silky, bright, and perfectly balanced. My date's shawarma flatbread was deeply savory with a beautiful char and pillowy bite. We shared the babaganoosh, smoky and luxuriously creamy. Cocktails were refined and expressive. Every detail, from pacing to plating, felt intentional. A flawless, romantic dining experience we'll be replaying in our minds. Perfection!!

This place was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. The decor feels cheap and poorly put together definitely not matching the prices they're charging. The whole vibe is off. Super loud music all night with an Israeli singer that was way too loud and not enjoyable at all. You literally can't even talk to the person sitting next to you. The crowd made it even worse. Guests acting obnoxious, yelling, noses in the air like they're at some elite club... but the place itself doesn't come close to that level. Just a really weird, uncomfortable energy overall. Food was terrible. Nothing tasted good, and it felt like zero attention to quality. The cocktails were even worse $22 for a mixed drink that tasted awful is insane. Total rip-off. And then they automatically add a 22% service charge... for what exactly? Definitely not for the experience you're getting. Bathroom situation is a disaster too. Only two single-person bathrooms, so expect to wait 15-20 minutes in line. Completely unacceptable. Only positive was our server very nice and trying their best but everything else completely missed the mark. Overall, overpriced, overrated, and honestly just a trashy experience. Would not recommend at all.

Amazing glazed chicken - so delicious

What a beautiful place! Not only is the interior designed beautifully but their food is amazing. I had the honor of meeting their owner who takes pride in her restaurant and after eating the food, should be very proud of her creation. She is very kind and warm hearted. All the food was amazing, but I need to point out that their sushi was beyond words. It is literally some of the best sushi I've ever had, and if you know me, you know I've had sushi from all over the place. I would highly recommend checking this place out. Between the ambiance and the food, you will fall in love!

Ribeye Steak

Terrible place! I went for my birthday and while making the reservation they told me if I bring my own cake I had to pay $30 extra. Another thing, we were a part of 13 and we all had to spend a minimum of $100 each so they sent us a set menu. We asked if each person orders from the set $100 menu will it be okay? the waitress says "no the set menu will feed 4 people. It's too much for one person" so I asked is it still going to count as $100 per person she says no. Why in the world would you have a set menu if it's going to be so confusing?!?! Also there is NO HOOKAH. On top of that they forgot it was my birthday and didn't bring out cake or the sign until we told them TWICE. They brought it would at 12:00am. I do not recommend this place, food portions are small, there's no dancing space. Just greedy culture business. Hate it!

These people never showed up. They let us know that "the singers fell asleep" which we have on video as well.

Too much hype. Hostess was awful, Bar tenders were great but everything else was unpleasant, left after 15 min. Never coming back.

Do you offer Valet parking?

Yes they do, at $20. We found quite a bit of meter parking on the street.

Looks great! Is the food kosher?

Some kosher food but everything is priced triple of what other restaurants charge.

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The bruschetta was super fresh, light, and a great starter. The tomatoes were juicy and bright with that classic garlic and basil flavor. Nonna's meatball was also really good.
