Bagels are so good. Service is lovely. Building is absolutely mold ridden and the poor staff should not be subjected to working in it.

Front Counter

Went here Saturday Morning (Nov 1st). Decently fast service. Front counter spoke both English and Spanish which is a plus for the area we are in. We got the lox and breakfast bagels, they were decent. The inside could be cleaner.

Had some extra time before work so I stopped in to grab a breakfast sandwich. I got an Asiago bagel with eggs turkey and cheese. It was only 7$. It really did hit the spot super fast and easy service. They can be crowded sometimes but today I beat the rush

This joint is really good. I honestly try my best not to come here so often in order to keep the weight off, lol but it's hard!

In town for a few days and needed a quick morning breakfast, this hit the spot! I would recommend double toasted bagels but we tried the onion bagel, salt bagel and cinnamon sugar bagel. Well worth the stop!

Everything toasted with Olive Cream Cheese and Cucumbers. Drink from next door.

These are great bagels in a simple place which i love. Just like it was when i used to take my kids here after painting pottery next door about 13 years ago. Prices are right and these bagels stay fresh long- which for me means a lot- i dislike the ones that turn to rocks on the next morn! Nice outdoor seating in that down town street of San Anselmo. I saw a debate on Nextdoor about who has the best NY bagels- (this was voted No. 1)and thus brought me here- to a place i had been before & thought had long disappeared. Nice to discover again. #everthingToasted with herb shmear and cucumbers!

Really good

Always a pleasure to stop in to this top notch bagel shop when I come to San Anselmo. Friendly owners and emoyees serve up those prime time dough goods with your favorite schmear or sando ingredients. Super large variety to choose from my favorites being the onion and jalapeño. Be sure to get some to go for your noshing delight later on.

Only schmear on one side, and poorly done at that! Dry bagel - yuck!

Delicious bagels that are boiled and chewy! Salt are wonderful for lunch. Fast, friendly service. A gem in Marin...so glad I'm close!

I had to drive to Fairfax to pick up my daughter from camp and she was craving chicken and waffles…read more Not familiar with the area, I looked up a place on Yelp and discovered The Hummingbird, a New Orleans based restaurant. Having visited New Orleans earlier this year, I was so excited to try this place! As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was transported back to NOLA! There were beads hanging and Mardi Gras decorations throughout the restaurant. Since it was a weekday, there was no wait and we had our choice of sitting inside or out. We opted for inside. Our server was warm and friendly, bringing us water promptly. We started off with an order of beignets. It arrived with three big pieces. They were freshly fried and doused in powdered sugar. So good! My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles, while I decided to try the everything gumbo. The chicken and waffles was huge! It came with several pieces of fried chicken that was topped with freshly minced garlic and came with a homemade spicy sauce. My daughter loved it! I tried a bite and thought it was tasty as well. She ended up taking half of it home. The everything gumbo was also delicious! It was a little thin in my opinion, but the flavor was amazing! It was truly authentic and I could taste all the seafood that was in it. I finished my entire bowl! Unlike the chicken and waffle, it was appropriately sized. When I went to pay the bill, there was a sign that said "free beignets if you pay cash." So of course, I paid our bill in cash! Luckily, I had enough cash on me. Can't pass up a deal like that! All in all, it was a very enjoyable meal! If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely go back to The Hummingbird!

Tye, our server, was friendly and kind and on top of refilling waters, offering drink suggestions, and grabbing to-go boxes before we even asked for them! I had the chicken parmigiana, which was light and flavorful, and the steamed spinach that went with it was delicious (and I HATE cooked spinach, but gave it a try and actually enjoyed it for the first time ever!) The andouille sausage that was served with the pesto risotto was smoked and you could really taste it, and the spicyness was just perfect. The pesto sauce was heavy on the pine nuts in the best way. It wasn't oily or heavy on the basil or garlic like a lot of pesto sauces can be, and that left the risotto so light and almost citrusy. My cousin had the harvest garden dish, and they were stunned by how delicious it was. As a vegetarian, they are particular about their veggies, but everything was 'perfectly cooked'. At the end of the meal we were surprised by the panna cotta with the fruit remoulade, which we devoured in like three minutes haha! We really enjoyed all of the food, the service, and the ambiance. We only wish we lived closer, but might make the 90+ mile trip from Sacramento just for the amazing food now and then.

I finally stopped in after many years of passing through this town. Super casual, I'd even say 'hippie' vibes. Seemed like more seating outside than inside, so not really a camper's spot. Lots of antique-y looking things inside and I wouldn't even doubt if this space was once a saloon. Looks like they still roast their own beans here, which is a unique draw. In one corner you can see this old mechanical contraption that screams the industrial age. No automatic digital readings here. It wasn't in operation the time I went, but I'd love to come back sometime when it is. Iced Coffee ($6ish/4*) Don't know what type of coffee they used but it was unique. It was both earthy with slight nuances of fruity. Lighter in body tho, as I usually prefer bolder and darker flavors in a cold coffee drink. Still not bad at all. Brownie ($5ish/2.5*) I got this to eat for a later time at a campsite, after dinner. I think I got it cuz it had walnuts, I love chocolate and nuts together. But this brownie was a let down chocolate wise. The lighter color kinda worried me at first and sure enough it just tasted like a brownie made with more brown sugar than chocolate. Also more dry and cake-y than it was gooey and moist. Upon paying I also noticed they had a ton of their coffee beans already packed in 1 pound bags laid out on their counter. I love grinding and brewing batches at home so I snagged a bag. Got a Bali Blue Moon ($21ish/5*) which I never had. And after several brews at home, I really like this bean and roast. I'd say this was medium dark in roast and has great coffee notes and structure. Next time I roll through town, I'm definitely gonna snag another coffee drink to try and another pound of coffee from another origin. Makes me stoked that I'm always gonna leave with a nice parting gift after a roadtrip.
