Slow, inefficient, and rude, this is definitely the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. The first problem is mostly in optics. This pharmacy is open and exposed to the customers and some of the store, and as such you can really get a sense of how inefficient it is. There's often more than five people working here but many of them just seem to be standing around working on "something" while one or two max are actively helping customers. Maybe it's just that this particular pharmacy services more clients or something but compared to nearly every other place I've ever got my drugs from where there are like one or two people visibly working in the department, this one has like 3X the people but is three times slower. 90% of the time you're going to be waiting 10+ minutes to get helped. Everything takes forever. Once you finally get up the counter, despite you having a notice that your prescription is ready for pickup you're occasionally going to have wait an additional 15-30 minutes because apparently it won't be after all. And then there's the attitude of some of the people working there. On three separate occasions I've heard people working there been audible combative with customers on the phone or to the in person patrons, all in earshot of everyone in line. A few days ago an old guy was complaining quite reasonably in the general spirit of what I've described above and some guy in the desk behind the counter very loudly scolded him: "We are facing numerous organizational and personnel challenges right now and your attitude isn't helping. I've had six people quit on me recently." This guy should be fired NOW because if he's going to work in customer service he needs to grow up immediately. read more

I want to take this feedback further, as the cashier pressed the button "I decline for the pharmacist to give a consultation" so I know what I'm taking and how to take it, but then I said I DID want it since I had to take the pill 4 times a day. She said "go to the window" "PHARMACIST CONSULTATION" 5 minutes later no consultation. They need new management. I completely understand how busy healthcare workers are, but I've never seen a Bartell's this busy. Skip this Bartells. I have never seen a line bigger than this pharmacy. I needed a prescription and I waited 1 hour in line which is ridiculous but I wasn't sure if that's just how it is in Bellevue?? Update: after I waited an hour from 12-1pm I came back at 5pm to pick up my medicine and I don't want to do the prepay bc I want to pay in cash so I have to wait an hour more. I'm supposed to take this medicine 4 times a day and have missed doses just waiting in this line. Simply absurd. How can they be this understaffed, and why haven't they opened more knowing the influx of people who come here since there are so many high rise apartments and offices nearby? read more

Terrible pharmacy! Booked vaccinations for my family of 4 a week ahead of time. Received daily text and email reminders for each of the 4 appointments at least once a day (more often as we got closer to the appointment date). When we checked in for the appointments we were told that they had no vaccinations left (and blamed the power outage from over a week ago). Staff were not apologetic or concerned that we were not informed before hand. They didn't have the basic decency to call or even email to cancel the appointments ... instead got bombarded with appointment reminders. Very unprofessional! read more

Literally the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I've been going to Bartells for 3 decades now and typically have a good experience but this location is horrible. I've been to other pharmacies that had even less staff than this place but had a more pleasant experience. I have had to refill a medication that I can't just stop taking, it's dangerous to just stop taking abruptly. I haven't been able to get it refilled here (as I was before just down) for over 30 days. I have called and left 5 voicemails now and I haven't gotten a single call back. The phone just rings and goes to voicemail. I decided to drop by and there is no line there so there is no reason for this. Not to mention the Pay N Go is worthless. You're supposed to just be able to pay, walk in and pick up your medication but apparently that's not how it works here. Pay N Go at this location means pay and then stand at the pickup location for 25 minutes as the cashier that's 5 feet away from you ignores you and helps others in line. This review is only for the pharmacy. How is it that every month I have issues picking up my prescriptions where refills are supposed to be readily available? The new online system doesn't work, I try to refill my medication and it goes through the processing cycle then disappears as though I've never requested anything. Prior to this new system, I had no issues picking up my monthly prescriptions. The lines are now horrendous, i have to make multiple visits to pick up something that was promised to be filled already, and no one ever picks up the phone. Incredible infuriating. read more

This pharmacy was EXCELLENT before it was taken over by a national chain. It's a joke now. I went there just this morning to get three prescriptions. I told the harried woman at the register my date of birth and name. I showed her my driver's license. She took a few minutes to look through all of the prescriptions on hangers in plastic bags, and she returned with four bottles of pills--none of them with my name on them. "I'm not this person." "You aren't?" "No. And I never have been." She put the four bottles back in a bag and approximately where they should be among the hundreds of other bags of pill bottles. Good luck to the next person trying to find those! LOL. I left my written prescription with the woman, and it will not surprise me in the least if she lost it and I cannot get that vital prescription I need to start taking today. "Oh, it will be ready after 2 PM today," she said hopefully. "Will it?" "Yes," she said with almost zero confidence in her face and voice. And this is just one negative experience I've had here since the national chain took over. So sad to see a local chain with a great reputation turned into garbage. This is for the pharmacy. Wow. Just wow. I came back 3 times to pick up a prescription refill- the shortest wait was 20+ minutes and...the prescription wasn't ready. Now their system told me it was ready and its been 4 days since trying to get the refill. But nope - not ready - they are "at least 5 days behind". No reason for their system not working right (I don't blame the poor employees). Rite Aid has driven this into the ground. Stay far away unless you don't really actually NEED your meds!!! read more

They didn't fill a prescription and didn't tell us or inform the doctor that prescribed the drug. My wife was in a lot of pian as a result. No one took responsibility (although admitted the mistake) and wouldn't escalate the mistake to have a manager call us. If this were an anti-coagulant she could of had a stroke. They are sloppy and you need to keep a close eye on what they do. Follow up: I received an email from "Audrey B", from Bartels, and she asked for my contact information. I sent it to her and after a few days of no response, she simply blew me off by giving me a general customer service number to call. Why ask for my contact info when you're not going to contact me? Supplemental update: I was patronized by the local manager and never received a follow up, or a follow up from the national office, from which I had registered a complaint. They just don't seem to think it was a big deal, to withhold a prescription and not inform the patient or doctor. On Monday I'm calling the FDA whistle blower line (888-463-6332) and report the mistake. I'll bet they will think its relevant. It's over for them. i've used Barrells for years But, through the merger+bankruptcy they have reached the peak of reprehensibility and the nadir of customer care. Post-surgery pain meds (generic) delayed a week with no warning despite calls to confirm- Creditors must have them in such a tight leash the company is forced to tighten inventories to unreasonable extremes. and this is the third instance of extreme FU from Bartells. I was waiting for my new medication, which only took couple minutes, and I checked the yelp of this store's review, which surprised me how low it is. I often come this store for picking up the medication since it is a closer location and I knew it is easy to find a parking here. The employees at the pharmacy area are always pretty nice and patient to me, and I usually do not wait long in the line. The only negative service here I can think of is that one of staffs of this store's check out area seems always busy and not having a good mood. read more

I would agree with the 1 Star reviews below. I would give a Zero if possible. 1. Scripts are NEVER ready when they say they will be. Last month, my one remaining script with Bartell was dated as filled on 10/4 but I was not texted until 10/7. This is highly problematic with a script, using insurance, that has to be gotten every 30 days. 2. NO ONE WILL EVER answer the phone. Last week the one person checking people out informed the woman ahead of me, "oh, we can't answer the phone we don't have anyone working." 3. The message says it is going to transfer you to the pharmacist "for more information" and then promptly disconnects. Call the main number and ask for the pharmacy? You will get disconnected. 4. If you somehow do get a script filled, when you go to get it there will be 16 people in line waiting and one person behind the cash register. Average wait time if you don't pay ahead on line is 30 minutes. My family used Bartell's (the original one) for over 25 years. Scripts were ready on time, personnel were incredibly helpful and friendly, all around a great pharmacy. I wrote a review several months after Rite Aid took over, when it was obvious things were not being run the same way. Now, after 2 years, it is worse than ever. Clearly, whoever is in charge, is not interested in customer service, running an efficient and friendly pharmacy, hiring enough people, correcting the crappy phone messaging system, etc. So as long as we continue to put up with this inept, rude, inefficient lack of service, nothing is going to change. Certainly not because it would be the right thing to do - they have had two years. Therefore, after giving them dozens of chances, I am pulling my last script. I would suggest that we all deserve to be treated far better than this Bartell manages. Never in all of my years on this earth have I ever been so incredibly fortunate to do business with a pharmacy that is as unorganized, sloppy, chaotic and just a flat out sh*t show like this particular Bartell's. I'm a pretty reasonable and understanding person (I like to think anyway) and to be fair I've only been to this pharmacy twice to pick up medication but both times left me extremely annoyed. Both times this place blew my phone up with calls and texts to repeatedly tell me my prescription was ready and to file pick it up at my earliest convenience. The first time, I arrived the next day and the second time I arrived a few hours after their FIRST pickup phone call (3 calls and 3 texts in 5hrs) and both times I wait in this long lonnnggggggg line waiting for them to figure out what's wrong with their system just to get up to someone and have them tell me it's not ready yet. GGGGRRRRRRRRRR... WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU GUYS BLOWING UP MY PHONE THEN?! The second time the woman tells me it will be another 20 minutes so I turn around and start walking down the isle and get this... you ready for it? MY PHONE RINGS AND IT'S THEN TELLING ME MY PRESCRIPTION IS READY... AGAIN!!!!! So I go back and ask a woman in the drop off area of this is actually true and she tells me I need to go in the pick up line... that has 7 people waiting. NO! I'm not doing that again. Just no no no. Tell me if it's ready before you make me have to go stand in the damn line again and waste more of my life on this nonsense. She checks and well well well what do ya know?! It's READY! Ok so, not 20 more minutes then?? You SURE?! Just the annoyance of being given the run around and watching all of these guys back there scrambling running around asking each other what's going on and nobody knows anything is enough for me. I'll just key my sanity and blood pressure level nice and normal by going to another pharmacy that's more organized and put together. This seems to be a pretty standard Bartells. I mean, Bartells sells pretty much everything, right? There's a nice big range of local chocolate and snacks, which I like (and which QFC doesn't stock). There are also chintzy Seattle souvenirs you can pick up if you wanted, and I even found some Halloween cookie cutters. Exploring this store is half the fun, really. Customer service is okay; it's a big store and the staff are pretty good with the "hands off" approach unless you have a question. The lines here at the pharmacy dept are always long every time I come, and they are always understaffed (like any business in America currently) There was a young asian employee at the pharmacy who he and the staff seemed overwhelmed, but was courteous and very polite. He seemed to be a student in training because his name tag read his name and "in training," but he seemed to be as knowledgeable as anyone working there. Only reason why I would not come back is because of junkies trying to get their fix from their crooked physicians and doctors. It is upsetting and frustrating to see my hard earned money that is being taxed are going to support these tweakers. I would not use this Bartells as my personal pharmacy if I did not think it rated five stars. We foutunately do not need it often, but when we do I have been very satisfied with the level of care they provide. The non-pharmacy part of the store is great as well. The employees are helpful and efficient. It has good hours for us. I find myself in there after 10pm more often than I like to admit. If you happen to be there in the afternoon, they have an ice cream happy hour at their soda fountain. Check it out! read more

Zero Stars This is an update from my previous review. I followed through with Ashley from Bartell, stating exactly what the concerns were. I was never contacted by anyone, regardless of what it says in her response. Obviously, since this situation continues to deteriorate, whoever is overseeing this store has not interest in retaining Bartell customers. There is NO customer service! It is the complete opposite of what it was before Rite Aid. I was just (Saturday 12:40) there to pick up my last script. There were 17 people ahead of me (most complaining to each other), and one person at the cash register, two people working at the computers. I waited for 40 minutes for my turn. At no time did either of the two employees working on scripts come forward to get the line down to a reasonable number. While I was waiting, two people were told to come back tomorrow to get flu shots, as there were "not enough people working today" to also do flu shots. Three customers sent their order back and the pharmacist made changes and then brought it back out to the front - adding to the delay. This has always been an efficient, friendly place. Not any longer - it is time to do business with another pharmacy as there is clearly no effort being made to correct any of the disasters that Rite Aid has created. Very sad, indeed. read more

I don't understand why it is such a nuisance getting prescriptions filled when they say they will be filled . I have had numerous occasions when I have been told that a prescription will be filled and ready for pickup at a certain time and when I arrive they tell me they have not been able to fill the prescription yet. Nobody ever answers the phone in the pharmacy. I am frustrated beyond belief because I have never experienced this before the buy out. REVIEW FOR CLINIC ONLY: I needed an immunization shot and since this place was close by and walk-ins are welcome, I gave it a chance. The clinician was clearly exhausted, and put zero effort or care with the shot. She had a hard time finding a good spot on my arm for a few moments, and once she put in the shot, the place started to bleed A LOT. No bandages or cotton balls were offered. I've gotten TB shots prior to this visit at other places, and usually they are quick and hassle-free. However I left this place feeling very uncomfortable. To no one's surprise, the spot on my arm swelled up so much that the clinician couldn't read it once I came back for the result. They simply said I had to wait a week and get it done again. I decided to go to UW Hall Health to get it done a week later. After seeing my bruise, the nurses at Hall Health pointed out that the Bartell's clinician must have injected the needle in too deep, and for too long. They also pointed out that the clinician chose a weird spot to inject it on my arm. TLDR: I recommend paying a little more to get it done once and properly at other clinics. Still, some pros of Care Clinic @ Bartell's: - Walk-ins welcome - Cheaper than most places around ($15 for most immunization shots) - Check in is quick, and you can shop for drugs and makeup while you wait for your turn read more

This is literally the worst pharmacy I have ever been to in my life. Out of the numerous times I have had to come here to pick up prescriptions, my wait has been enormously long. I end up waiting in line for anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes just to get to the front of the counter. And sometimes the prescription is not even ready, despite them telling you via text that it is ready and you should come pick it up. In summary, this is a textbook case of a business with absolutely horrendous operating procedures. As soon as it allowed itself to be swallowed-up by Rite Aide ownership, it lost it's well-trained and mostly helpful staff and became a poorly under-staffed, inefficient, overworked and often unfriendly nightmare!! Whenever I need to go and stand in incredibly slow lines it is with 15-20+ customers deep. I tried to change to the CVS on Bellevue Way NE, but they closed the Drive-Thru and are now even WORSE!! The Bartell pharmacy is horrible since rite aid bought them. Long lines, always short staffed, no customer service, refuse to answer phones and nothing is ever refilled when they say it is. Bartell was amazing before but it is garbage since the riteaid conversion. I saw the staff ignore over 10 or more calls while I was waiting in line for 30 minutes twice today. I'm back in a long line for the 6th time on a prescription they keep screwing up in the new Rite Aid computer system. Time to start looking for another Seattle area locally owned pharmacy. Ruined by mismanagement. I've supported Bartell's since before Microsoft came to town -- it's an authentic PNW legacy. However, the service at this store is unacceptable. The pharmacy staff are nice people and they used to do a good job, but they're not reliable. The errors are getting worse every week. Last week they blamed our Doctors. This week the staff don't even make a pretext. They just say, "come back in half an hour," over and over again. Which doesn't sound bad, until you drive to the store five times to pick up a prescription just to hear them say, "come back in half an hour." I'd blame their new computer system, but they appear to have switched to hand written notes, and those hand written orders don't get filled either. It's a clear cut case of mismanagement. read more

What a disaster of a pharmacy. We've been trying to fill my daughter's prescription for a couple months. Depending on which Bartell's employee we speak with at the front desk, we get different false info: doctor has not sent a prescription, doctor has sent the wrong prescription, Bartell's does not carry that product and so Bartell's cannot fill the prescrption (even though we've filled for the same product in the past and the prescription permits substitutions), your insurance does not cover that product (even though it does), etc. etc. Yelp doesn't let me leave a review for 0 stars and so I need to leave a review for 1 star, and even that is overly generous. read more

Huge pharmacy department, expanded sections of everything else from beauty products to school supplies, groceries to cleaning products. This store has you covered! Pharmacy review: my elderly grandmother has her medicines transferred here after a decade or more at the rite aid that closed. It's been a nightmare. There is always a long line no matter the day or time I go, the assistants all seem so unsure of their jobs that I'm worried that they're missing details, and there is confusion about which prescription is available, which isn't, etc. all just things that don't give you confidence when you're trying to get life saving drugs. The pharmacists in charge appear knowledgeable, but there is a real lack of leadership back there. We will be transferring to a new pharmacy somewhere else nearby. It's frustrating that Rite Aid put so many of their pharmacy patients through this nonsense without warning. read more
