Disappointing lunch. We ordered two combo meals. We had to wait for the pepperoni pizza. Parties behind us got served pepperoni pizza before us. After 25 minutes of waiting we decided to leave. We go to the counter to ask for a piece to go and the lady said she didn't even have our number written down. She wouldn't give us a slice even though we were one of the first customers there to order pepperoni... She then offered us a refund. When working on the refund she asked if we had a receipt, which no one ever gave us, so she wouldn't give us a refund! THEY were the ones to not give us a receipt or write down our table number. Terrible service. They get flustered easily when they have more than 4 customers. Go anywhere besides this restaurant. read more

We got a pizza at Barro's (Cave Cree/Desert Willow) and the crust was crust was rubbery, and the cheese tasted fake. The cheese was terrible, and I am sure it is not healthy. A pizza should have a crust that is not rubbery, but solid. We could not eat the pizza, and threw it away. I would never eat from Barro's again because it all tasted fake, and not healthy. read more

Good pizza and wings at Barrio Pizza. Order was easy with their web app. Had their white pizza and a bacon and chicken pizza. Ordered boneless wings. Offspring and I enjoyed the taste and selection. My favorite was the white pizza with ricotta and mozzarella cheese. The bacon and chicked pizza was also very good. Had a smokey flavor to it. Both had original crust. I ordered my pizza online and came in to pick it up. I walked in on the lunch rush and Barro's wasn't short staffed. Apparently someone had called out. However, I was very impressed by the service! I didn't get the name of the guy who helped me but he was so fast and working really hard to beat the rush! I was very pleased because he was able to help 5 people in 5 mins! He was quick! This would be considered the local neighborhood pizza spot that we regularly order out! Typically go with the large pizza and 24 wings. I do like how they have a bone in and bone out options and you can split your wing flavors based on the dozen. Pizza is doughy with a nice sweet tomato flavored sauce. Nice mozzarella flavor! Tried out there newly added lemon peppered bone out wings with blue cheese and spicy buffalo bone out wings. I wasn't too impressed with the lemon pepper wings because I didn't taste the flavors I had expected from other places that offered the same thing. Ordered delivery as I was driving back from the airport. Was put on a brief hold and then my order was taken. The staff over the phone were friendly and promised the pizza delivered in 45 minutes. We've enjoyed this pizza back from high school tennis matches and family movie nights. Their pizza is always delicious and they are quick to make your order! We stopped their for a fast salad and drink. The girl that helped us, didn't get her name but she had green hair. When she went to go make our salads she used her hands, yes she had gloves on but she could of used the thongs. I asked her why she was using her hands, she just look at me like I was stupid to ask. I am not even going to give this place any stars because the service there is ridiculous. I called to find out why it's taking so long on my order and I was told it was a 45 minute wait however it has been now an hour and I still don't have my food and they can do nothing about it except tell me it'll be another five maybe 10 minutes, that is the worst customer service and food service that I have ever had. Don't tell someone their order is going to be ready in 25 minutes when it's going to take over an hour and you have to sit there and wait while they do nothing about it. I don't know if this Barro's location knows what our Nextdoor neighborhood app is saying about them, but they ought to take notice. We first went here when they opened in MV, it was great pizza. Fast forward 40 years :-) and it is so disappointing. We quit going there a few years ago, the pizza just wasn't worth the $$ anymore. Seriously, Domino's or Little Caesar does it better for way less money. I'm a very long time customer of this location! What is going on? This Barro's is more messy (tables, etc) and several employees don't follow cleanliness standards for a restaurant. No gloves at the salad bar? Wiping noses? Yuck! I'm writing today about the slimy disgusting carrots!!! This happened one week ago also and has happened in the past. Too legit, too legit to quit! The best thing about our extra large pepperoni pizza was the dough! Wow it was really awesome and I wish I could have another slice right now. The pizza came with a meh amount of pepperoni but that cheese and dough saved the whole pie. We ordered cheesy garlic bread that was pretty decent. Service was good for pick up. They were fast and 20 min wait for the pizza an hour before closing. Not too shabby. Overall I loved the pie and the all star was that dough! Wish there was more pepperoni. After my first introduction to Barro's pepperoni pizza, there's no going back. We order our thin-crust pie well-done and it's absolutely the perfect combination of chewy crust with sweet, slight tart sauce and the tastiest cheese I've had on a pie. I don't know what they do to create this simple masterpiece but I do know I'll suffer greatly from withdrawals if I move away. Damn. It's the best pie I've had in Phoenix. Was traveling to Phoenix for kids sports. I used to have Barros years ago in Orange County. Was as good as I remember.

Quite possibly the best regular old fashioned American style pizza place anywhere. No; goat cheese, truffle, arugula pesto, free range, heirloom, organic, farm to table shtick just regular old pizza done well. There will be no James Baird nominations here, but there will be happy kids, softball teams etc. This is what happens when a classic pizza place sticks to the basics and doesn't change because it's fashionable. This place has been around since the 80's and I'm happy to say still going strong. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate other styles of pizza places, but if you just want some slices without any gimmicks this is the place. If they ever think of franchising out to Seattle, I will quit my job and open one in a heartbeat, so I can bring their pizza to the PNW. read more

Barros on Penal and McCarthy is Casa Grande, AZ in my opinion has stopped caring about their service. No smile, no greeting an anointed look with and exasperated pause. I'm nearly 70 they put little labels in the pizza box and I could not read it. I asked the young lady to tell me what pizzas slices were available and I get a smart remark about how they are labled then names the pizzas so fast I couldn't understand her. Really I couldn't hear her because she never looked at me when she spoke. When I get my three pieces they are all put in a single piece box then the lid smashed down on them. When I got home and seperated them the toppings were coming off on the crust of the one on top of it. Not impressed I was treared like an inconvenience so I will go elsewhere in the future. But after How many years in business, they still cannot accurately predict the lunch time demand and balance with supply? Management at this location really needs to learn manager skills like planning, taking metrics on daily demand by day of week, provide sufficient supply of popular pizza when they run specials every single week day. Dirty tables not often tended to, greasy table tops even after they are "cleaned". Salad bar tomatoes mushy 7/10 times. Often out of lettuce, one type or the other. It's like no one even notices it's low or out, and customers have to tell them. Poor entrance redesign. Line backs up in that cramped space. Bench is right in the way there also. Who runs this location? Where's the GM's involvement in the quality of service here? read more
