Large Caesar Salad
Taquera W.

We found Barrio randomly looking for something to eat while we were out. The bar is in a neighborhood part of Clayton near one of the elementary schools. There are lots of windows and natural light. The bar keep and our waiter were very attentive, we were there mid afternoon/early evening and it wasn't busy at all. The food was decent. The fish was cooked well although the sandwhich was very plain. The fries were delicious (love a good fry) The salad was delicious. They don't use traditional dressing and I was worried because I'm not a fan of mustard and it's mustard based but it was nice! The crispy chicken on top added flavor and texture . We might return on a day when it's not close to the end of the night.

I've been to this spot a couple times for drinks but never the food since it was so late. This time I tried the food and the best is the Killer B Burger. Everyday out it from the burger the brisket, bbq sauce was amazing. Didn't like the turkey burger kinda dry and the chicken sandwich was okay as well as the fries. If you do go get that frozen cherry limeade. It was fire. Love the patio to sit outside and eat and it was great service.

Now a regular in our rotation, I'd say we come at least once a month. In addition to great burgers, their Caesar salad, Caesar salad wrap, rotating specials, quesadilla, and fish and chips are all amazing. The cocktails are great, they have an amazing wine selection (they're owned by Sasha's wine bar), and the staff is amazing - friendly and accommodating. The patio is excellent and they open the windows on nice days. Something for everyone and super kid and dog friendly too!

Central location to stop by for a drink or get a quick bite. I selected this place for my Friday night end of the summer get together / birthday celebration because it was central for both my STL city, and STL county & St Charles county friends. Pup friendly patio is an added bonus. Parking was a challenge on Friday night which appeared to be concern of a handful of guests. Dan, the owner was easy to work with throughout the planning process until the day of our event. No option to reserve ahead of time but owner knew ahead where he kept looking out for tables that would clear up. Great venue option if you also prefer to order / pay at the counter at your convenience instead of having to request split checks. Drink options available whether boozy or mocktail or NA were all available. I unfortunately forgot to take photos of my frozen Cherry limeade boozy drink for the night but I do have photos to show how this venue brought our group together. I wanted churros but will have to save that for my next visit. A memorable time together & next goal is to try to attend first Friday karaoke event.

Nice diversion during my walk! Chili dog is amazing and the crinkle fries are perfection!

Stopped by while on a walk on a gorgeous afternoon. Chili dog was amazing and the crinkle cut fries were perfection!

I've seen this place quite a few times being in this neighborhood and never stopped in to see what it was about. Today after grabbing ice cream next door we decided to stop in here to grab a drink to cool off. The woman at the bar was pleasant and nice while we ordered and she served us. She recommended the vodka frozen lime slush type of drink. It was mixed well and service was fast. The inside of this place is a little on the smaller side but they have plenty of seats outside. We didn't get a chance to try the food but from looking at other customer's plates it seems to be good. If you want a quick drink and it to be reasonably priced. Give this place a try. P.S. If you enjoy IPA beers they have a good variety of choices.

This bar was so cute! Perfect for a random stop and have a drink or a bite. My friends and I loved it. The vibes were definitely relaxing and the service was great. The staff were very helpful and quick with orders.

This place is nice to grab lunch at. We had a group of 8 and they let us push tables together which was helpful. The cocktail I ordered was delicious and the Brisket Sandwich was great, with a hint of heat in the BBQ sauce. Service was pretty quick. A friend ordered the Onion Rings and they were amaaazing! I think the only thing that rubbed me wrong about the place was the prices. They seemed reasonable for a sandwich with a side, but everything was priced a la carte. It was just a little shy of " worth the money."

Came in out of snowy cold weather into a warm and casual space where I could see the sidewalks and street outside but was so very glad to be enjoying this small but inviting dining space. Nothing fussy about the food, just easy dining with sandwiches, burgers, fries, soups and beverages. Casual fare for any taste. One server but meals were served quickly and graciously. Nice dining experience for lunch.

Unexpected trip to STL sent us on a mission to find Clementine's Naughty and Nice Ice Cream. Our adventure lead us to Clayton, MO where we found this sweet little watering hole, Barrio! What a treat before the treat. Burgers SLAP! Go and go now.

This is actually my second time visiting...Love! Food, great. Service, personable. Atmosphere, chill. If you can visit on a nice, sunny day, enjoy the patio or the inside - they raise the windows open for fresh air which is nice. Good selection of beverages to choose from. Food cooked fresh to order. Definitely will be back.

Great place to come kill time when there is a wait list at Sasha's down the block. I came on a Thursday night and they had live music! The menu is short and simple. The drink menu has some cocktails, wines, and beer. The food menu has burgers, sandwiches, salad, sides and shakes. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2021

Clayton was busy, so street parking was hard to find. Once seated, we were greeted with friendly service and were brought water. I ordered a ginger beer with cranberry juice added to it for a refreshing mocktail. We ordered the Squeaky Cheese to start, the golden-brown cheese curds were gooey and had the perfect crunch. They were served with marinara and a serrano dill aioli. The aioli had just the right amount of spice, complementing the dill flavor. The marinara was saucy and also good. I ordered the Bacon Jam Burger with fries. The burger was juicy, sweet, and had a nice crunch. The bacon jam was subtle, but it enhanced the overall flavor. My only complaint was that the bottom bun came out a bit soggy causing the burger to lose structure as I ate it. The fries were thin and crunchy! I had a lovely experience and would like to come back to try a cocktail!

Today, I was blessed to find my favorite spot at the bar open. This is a great vantage point to witness how a well run restaurant functions. The bar space is quite tight, but the servers and baristas (notably, the always excellent Lynne) move elegantly between each other as if in a choreographed dance. The Lindbergh Tartine was on point today with delicious sausage gravy over house-made sourdough, two sunny side up eggs and the always fantastic crispy potatoes. Soooo gooood! The pleasing decor, cute bistro-style tables and live plants makes this spot feel so warm. After coming here multiple times, I sometimes look for small improvements that I might suggest, but I'm consistently unsuccessful! With that said, I do think it's time to put some purse hooks up under the bar seating....still getting a solid 5-Star review! Come to Ivy Cafe and see for yourself!

My filet au poivre and my husband's French dip were forgettable at best. My steak was overcooked (ordered medium rare and came out close to medium well). With such a lean cut of meat, the overcooking of it ruined it. The Au poivre sauce which likely had cognac needed to be cooked off as it was extremely bitey (and salty). There was no peppery flavor at all. My cocktail, on the other hand, was delicious and well made (old fashioned) and our server was efficient, helpful, and timely. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere. I've had the crab cake before so I didn't get it this time, and it's as good as people say. It is huge and can be shared with at LEAST two people. I'd likely visit again but I'll probably stay away from these two entrees next time.

Nothing divey about a hip cocktail or hip deviled eggs -- these are sophisticated modern twists, the exact move wine bars make and dives don't. A chalkboard of specials and weathered seating gesture at the aesthetic; the rest of the room knows. Kendall Roy of restaurants -- comes from privilege, wants badly to be of the people. It's a bit, and mostly the kitchen and bar back it up. Nevertheless, we arrived to a full room, hour wait for a table, but we fortunately arrived to snag the last first come patio table. The bar was also full, by the way, which felt neighborhood like, people clearly like this place during happy hour. The old fashioned makes the case: Old Grand-Dad Bonded, pickled rye, cognac, butterscotch bitters. Two whiskeys and a bitter you won't find at an actual dive. Rich, a little sweet. The harissa deviled eggs keep going -- fried shallots, roasted red peppers, cilantro, marinated tomato jam. You know, just like the old dive with the $1 PBR.Deviled eggs for people that don't like deviled eggs. However, we love deviled eggs...foreshadowing. The short ribs are the headline -- fall-apart tender over whipped potatoes substantial enough to stand up to the meat, gravy spot on. Eats like a perfectly executed roast dinner. The brie burger is the sneaky second hit, genuinely decadent, bacon with the cheese melting into the beef. The service was good and pleasant and that felt more like dive-friendly, where you might expect a wine "bar" to be snooty or full of themselves. 4.4 Stars Picking Nits: hip deviled eggs that reach past what they can hold. Tomato jelly on top is a lot going on, in the wrong way, and the egg disappears under it. These are trying to be hip deviled eggs more than they're trying to be good deviled eggs. Every ambitious kitchen has one plate that tries too hard; this appears to be one. A 5 needs those eggs landing, in the same way the entrees excelled. Regardless, we'll be back.
