If I could I would give it -5 stars. Melvin sold me a lemon which is the 2017 Cadillac on the website. As you can see it's placed for financing. Had the car all of 12-13 days major break downs on it. (Grey/white smoke, car not accelerating past 30mph, pulling "rear differential part", engine light was on, shaking and trembling) Bob the owner did not want to put me in anything better the finance manager is full of it! We bought a car from here in 2019. Worst decision ever! First the transmission went out about 6 months after we got it. They did offer to fix it, so we took it back to them where they said they rebuilt it charged us $3000 and then gave it back. There has been issue after issue, the truck has been in the shop longer than I have had it. Again the transmission is out. The mechanic working on it now said that the transmission has NEVER been rebuilt or replaced but I was charged for it. Now John from the service dept will not give me any itemized bill showing what work was done. He will not give me the name of the transmission shop it was sent to nothing! a minute ago NEW Recently my father purchased a 2008 BMW 3 series from this place. The day the vehicle was paid off, upon picking up the car, the check engine light came on. We called them and they told us to bring in the car. When they called us to pick up the car shortly after the check engine light came back on. At this point when my father pointed this out the mechanic answered by saying he erased the code and that he should just use the car until the code came off. My father was outraged stating this wouldn't fix the issue, this just covers it up. He told them how they needed to do something about it considering he purchased the car assuming it was in good condition. At this point the manager came out very rude saying all types of profanity claiming if we weren't happy just leave the car he would give us our money back. My father left the car assuming they were going to work on it. Just to find out the very NEXT day he came in to find the surprise that the car was back up for sale for MORE MONEY, under a active contract, with a new contract stating warranty was optional plus they hadn't even paid him his money back. It took them over a week to return the money even after they resold the car. It took constant phone calls and surprise appearance where they were rude and unhelpful every time until they finally paid the money back. The owner claims to be in business for over 25 years which is ridiculous considering this was our experience with them. I can only imagine what others may have gone through. I would never ever recommend this place to any one. Let alone purchase another vehicle from them. Whoever purchased the white 2008 BMW 3 series please be aware that this vehicle has engine codes that were erased. Good luck!!! read more

Scam of a dealership, horrible customer services, lack of ethical practices, and I am going to sue them for keeping my plate on my vehicle after repossession! they also kept my tolltag which the new owner ran up $1000 of toll tag charges. Of course I went back up there to retrieve my items and they claimed there was no tag or plate on vehicle. WHITE LIARS!! If I could give zero stars I would. This was the worst experience I have had with a car dealership. We spent several hours there, and the sales person was nice enough, but she was trying to help several people at the same time. We submitted everything they asked for and had a cash down payment. Despite all of this we were denied, but no one could tell us why. We were told the finance person would call us within an hour to get more information so we could work out a deal. Well we never received a call, so Monday I called up there to talk to the manager who is conveniently the "finance" person and he wasn't there but they took my name and number. Three days later and still no call back, but we get a call today from a totally different dealership that was "given" our information and told we were looking for a car. Is that Barrett's way of saying they don't want to deal with us? Don't worry...we won't be back! This was such a horrible experience with customer service, I would never recommend anyone here. read more

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE i had to give my car away due to hail damage. i looked online and saw a car that i liked. went and talked to someone ad looked at the car. i sent in everything i needed to send in and everything was smooth. i kept calling and calling to get someone to go over payments with me so i would have some idea as to what i was paying,they finally reached back out and said they do not do that over then phone, when i was told when i visited that they did. i was dropped off here to pick up my newer car by a friend because i had no ride due to the insurance taking my car. i walked in sat down and began to sign everything. i was told that they would take a check for the initial down payment, once i was there i was told differently. i had to call my bank to up my limit so i could us my debit car. once that was take care of we get to the monthly payments........outrageous!!!!!!! and i didnt get to choose my own date of payments either, i was in shock. i told the sale person that i could not afford that, but i was stuck there with no car and no ride to anywhere because my friend had left thinking that everything was good. i told the sales person that i couldn't leave and needed to possibly work on getting payments down, to which his response was "well how did you get here? " REALLY?!?!? i was stuck with an outrageous car payment and a shitty sales person that had no interest in anything except making a sale. these people are the worst! i took my contract to a used certified dealer and they told me i got completely screwed. but.....i'm stuck now because i signed a contract that i had no other choice but to sign i continue with more......the car needed repairs 6 months of me having it. the A.C stopped blowing cold air. i called the repair location to see what the options are and i told them i get off early and could be there at 3.....i was refused and told that it would take hours to look and repair the car and that i needed to drop off the car. well i work and cant afford to take a day off.....how else am i suppose to pay for the car????? so the next week i took a half day off and arrived at the repair location at 1 pm. the woman at the counter was extremely rude and told me i would need to make an appointment to come back, i said NO, i took a half day off for this and i will stay here for hours if that is what it takes. so eventually my car was looked at and fix, thank god it was still under warranty. last.....the finance company....... these people are a joke. my payment is due right after rent. i have to call or email EVERY month to move my payment back because i am not allowed to move my payment date per the contract, also my insurance ran out and i was in the process of having it reinstated......i was in FULL CONTACT with these people during this time. texts, emails, phone calls. i get a phone call from my parents saying that they contacted them saying that they could not reach me.......FULL ON LIE this car buying experience has caused me so much stress and pain. RUN! This dealership is shady. While my brother's truck was still under warranty here he took it in to see if they could investigate a noise. They denied the warranty AND did work on his truck WITHOUT his authorization! Then, refused to return the keys to the owner unless he paid them for the work they did. THAT HE NEVER AUTHORIZED. No one contacted him to tell him what was wrong, what they could or couldn't do, or even quote a price! Lawyers will be involved. Do not spend any money here. We purchased an SUV from Barrett Motors in Rowlett in June of 2015. We needed a 3 seater SUV and I personally wanted the FLEX, however it was a little more than we wanted to spend and Rudy Macias looked around at the other Barrett owned dealerships and found us 2 vehicles to choose from. We chose the Chrysler Aspen. We have had ZERO problems out of this vehicle and have taken several trips across state lines in it. I didn't feel hounded, and Rudy worked with us patiently while trying to get all the paperwork together. I would definitely think about purchasing another vehicle from Barrett Motors in the future. Asked several times if it looked like an issue he had me add my husband and pinged his credit just to stall and have another app in. I agree with the person who said RUN. In the opposite direction and do not look back. This is the only dealership in the area who considers a five week month an opportunity to collect an additional payment from you. I pay every other week and they started calling non stop stating I owed another payment because of this "extra" week in December. Then they tack on late fees and lock your account until you call them to pay it. The finance ladies are rude and argumentative even when you show them proof...receipts from their own pay portal and bank statements! It is not worth the hassle when there are so many other dealerships who do not operate with such shady practices. I would not recommend them to anyone. Finally got my car paid off after being upside down on it almost the entire time. Do your homework and go in with Kelly Blue Book price as offer. Do not tell them you have a trade in to make until you have negotiated a good deal. They hassled me LIKE CRAZY when I changed jobs and my check started being a week behind the initial payment agreement - harassed me to the point where I had to get really nasty with Billie. They said they had notated my account that my check date changed but still the calls came. I am so glad to be done with this place and after this experience, and my mother having gone through the same experience with the harassing phone calls - I will not go back nor can I recommend Barrett Motors to anyone. read more

Overall it was a great experience. I am a single parent looking for a car for my daughter. With that being said I could have easily been a target.. I felt no pressure, they were so easy to work with.
