Arrived on time ... Tech was knowledgeable... And I would recommend these guys for future brake work

I want to be clear that I never progressed to having service performed by this company. However, the sole reason for that is the owner's lack of timely response/follow-up and extremely poor customer service. There are other reviews written previously by other customers, and I feel very confident in the accuracy of those reviews based upon my experience. I sent a Yelp project request for a specific job for my vehicle. Stop on a Dime responded with a quote. Almost immediately, I responded asking for availability as the quote was competitive and the need was urgent. I didn't hear back for hours. I reached out again by phone and ended up speaking with the owner, who confirmed that he had sent the Yelp replies. He said he had to see how quickly other jobs finished and that would determine whether or not they could complete work for me that (same) day. While I had him on the phone, I simply asked him about a quote for another vehicle I needed work on, making it clear that I didn't even have parts for that yet. It was a completely separate issue that had nothing to do with the urgent project at hand. Later that afternoon, the owner reached out and provided a quote for the separate project. It wasn't competitive with other bids I had received, so I declined it. However, I still wanted to proceed with the original project. When I asked whether or not the owner felt they'd be able to get to me today after all, his entire tone changed and he stated that they were booked for weeks and that I should just give the job to whomever I was going to get to do my other work. Everything happens for a reason, and, in the end, I ended up finding a fantastic mechanic to do the job on the same day for less than STOP on a Dime quoted me. That said, I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. If their owner behaves in such an unprofessional manner, I can only imagine how their entire operation functions. Great communication and fast service! Even was flexible to my schedule. I would recommend.

Christopher was outstanding. On time, thorough, and carefully explained every aspect of the job. Very reasonable cost and I didn't have to go to them. They came to me. Highly recommend read more

came to my home and replaced my pads and rotors, quick and efficient. Will come back again for brake work.

I have been waiting for them to communicate a time to come install a part. They recommended the part to order and I ordered it. I told them when it came in and they asked for my address, availability schedule, and phone number, but I have heard nothing productive since. I have sent messages a few times for them to just give a simple response but nothing that indicates they are trying to schedule us in. Now I have the part and will be looking for someone else to install it. read more

They couldn't fix my issue. Easy to work with but not for what I needed. I'm sure they are excellent for breaks

I will recommend Stop on a Dime going forward to anyone needing brakes replaced on a friendly budget. They were responsive & quick on response time with setting up an appointment. I got my breaks fixed within 2 days of reaching out due to it being a weekend. Randy was my mechanic and he was super helpful & friendly. I will continue to use them going forward! read more

back when I tried em, I wasn't happy. I even dropped the truck off at a (their?) location in Rowlette. When I went to pick it up they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. The truck was brought there becuase it would randomly lock up a rear wheel and go into a skid if the brakes were hit fast or it was wet out. Cost me 155 bucks as I remember, and 50 some miles were put on my truck. I ended up taking it to Garland Safety Lane where they fixed the issue. It turned out to be out of round rear drums. Perty easy for a pro mech huh? I wouldn't reccomend "step on my dime". read more

Stop on a Dime replaced the brake rotors on our Subaru Outback and we were very pleased. They were quick to get our car in and the work was done in a timely manner and the quality of their work was excellent. In addition to that, they beat the price of the Subaru dealer by 50%. I highly recommend them for car repairs and Maintenance work. read more

I didn't even have to pull my car out of the garage. They actually arrived too early as I slept in Saturday morning luckily they called me to let me know the mobile technician was outside. Replaced rear brake pads and flushed brakes fluid, took less than hour I am really impressed. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with this business. The person that came out to install new rear brakes attempted to manually take my tire off. It's very evident that he struggled. Instead of admitting so, I was informed that he had to "abort" the job because the lug nuts were stripped and I was also already missing one. Mind you, I just had a full vehicle inspection from BMW AND I personally detail my car weekly. These are not things that ever go unnoticed. So it was explained to me that upon inspection of this that the employee never even touched the vehicle. I expressed my frustration with the building manager (they came to my work to replace the breaks) and she was able to pull up the cameras. In the video footage it shows the employee manually attempting to remove the tire. From his physical jester's you can see he struggled to remove the wheel. So now I have stripped lug nuts on only ONE wheel and he also left me with missing one. I expressed my concerns and disappointment with the owner and he refuses to make things right. Shame on you Dan and Chris... read more

I just made a basic car service request on yelp and it was sent to a few companies. Stop on a Dime replied within the start of the next business day and were very helpful. They provided advice and were able to figure out my problem simply through messaging. I didn't get an official service done, but they still went out of their way to help me. If I'm ever needing something done to my car I'll for sure consider Stop on a Dime first. read more

Couldn't drive my vehicle because the brakes were grinding ...metal on metal. Stop on a Dime was super fast in their communications and had a brake specialist out to my house the next morning, only 18hrs after initially contacting them. Their price to replace pads & rotors on all (4) wheels was very competitive, less than the others I checked. It was so convenient having my vehicle worked on at my house and not needing to bring it to a repair shop. Highly recommend! read more

Overall I'd say Five Stars. They come to you, so it saves the hassle of dropping off or waiting at the mercy of a 'physical' auto shop. It was also a better price than the three other shops I received a quote from. Of course it's always good to support small businesses when possible. I'm pro small business because our country wouldn't survive without them! Daniel was honest and explained the work that my car needed, and didn't try to sell me unnecessary extras. They also drove a little extra out of the way to get to my home and do the repairs. read more

Needed pads and rotors on a 2011 335i, as front-right had started to grind and rotor was heavily grooved. The quote for OEM-grade parts was very reasonable. I was able to get an appointment at my office for the very next morning when I called. Technician showed up within the margin of error (about 10 mins after they said he would, but that's pretty good). I gave him my key and 90 minutes later, my brakes were changed. Tech asked me to test drive the brakes while he waited, saying I might notice some fade initially, which I did not. He then left and Dan called immediately to handle payment. I've driven the brakes for three days so far, and had no issues: no smells, noises, and seemingly the same stopping power. Definitely plan to use again and make referrals within my network. read more

Sent a request for a quote and got a response from Dan for service by the next day. I can not thank Dan and his team enough! I found out from my college student that his brakes were bad and yet he needed to head back to college. I messaged Dan late Sunday evening and by noon the next day, my sons car had new brakes and I could rest easy knowing he would be safe driving back to school. He gave me a quote based on year, make and model and charged me exactly what he said he would (and only replaced what truly needed replaced.) Customer for life and one relieved mom! Thanks a million. read more
