The first time, it had just switched from True Value so figured it was just new team members stress. The second time the cashier man literally threw my change and receipt at me (even when my hand was out). And this third time, the older man was a complete jerk. He may be having a bad day, but so are other people and this was not acceptable customer service. It's not right to treat folks how he did. We won't be going back and I unfortunately will not recommend this store until they've found respectful and kind employees.

While searching for a specific item, I approached several employees for assistance. Rather than taking a moment to help or walk me to the product, I was simply pointed toward the other side of the store and left to continue searching on my own. One of the reasons customers choose a neighborhood hardware store over a large box retailer is the expectation of knowledgeable, helpful service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience during this visit. I felt ignored and unimportant as a customer. Based on this experience, this will likely be my last visit to this location. Customer service is what keeps people coming back, and if improvements are not made, I believe the store will continue to lose loyal customers.

Not to mention they had a sale on bags of mulch, 5 bags for $10. Typically these are $5 per bag, which can really add up, so saving $3 per bag is huge! I did the math and with delivery this was by far the cheapest mulch sold in the area. Normally, Gallo winery is the best deal for mulch, but I was saving $70 dollars going with Lowes and that included delivery. I ended up buying 90 bags and got it delivered for $280! We followed the instructions we were given for draining the generator's gas, but, as anyone who owns one knows, it's almost impossible to get every last bit out. Instead of trying to help or being understanding, the staff immediately became rude and argumentative. My husband even offered to take it outside himself to dump the tiny amount that was left, and they completely overreacted, saying they were "late," that it was "against the law," and refused to help us at all. The attitude was unbelievable. After leaving frustrated, I called the Fresno location and spoke with JR, and WOW -- what a difference. JR was professional, calm, understanding, and actually wanted to help solve the problem instead of creating one. That is what customer service is supposed to look like. Because of how we were treated at the Clovis location, I will never shop there again. From now on, I'll gladly drive farther just to go to the Fresno store where customers are treated with respect. Though I may have been treated better if Matt was actually working, but since he can't control how rude his staff is. especially when you're sending that kind of money on a piece of equipment.

It should be expected that a shop of this scale will not have the same scope as a Home Depot or Lowe's. Sure, it's more expensive, but that is negligible to an extent. My issue is the staff. Most are friendly, and a few will relay advice over making a sale - my biggest gripe, however, is with the cashiers. Not all of them. Usually, the elderly women are the root of the problem - more importantly, it's their attitude. Numerous times, I have been delayed, ignored, and talked down to by more than one elderly woman at this store. I understand they are more senior staff, but the undermining tone and demeanor of annoyance have pushed me to go elsewhere. After months of not returning to the store, lo and behold, another unpleasant experience. Which is a shame - this place is only a block away, but at this point, Home Depot is well worth the extra miles.

The cushions were vacuumed-packed and did not fluff-up like advertised. As far as comfort level, we'd say these are nice for short periods of time. Personally, we feel they may not last very long, but that's on us for not going to check on the product and order only after seeing images of it.
