The staff was nice and welcoming, and the lobby was clean and well kept. I brought my dog in for a nail trim, which they handled quickly and professionally. The only hiccup was with the walk-in policy. Online, nail trims are listed as a walk-in service, so I stopped by assuming it would be straightforward. When I arrived, they explained that walk-ins are only allowed during certain hours on certain days. To their credit, they made an exception since they weren't busy at that moment, which I appreciated. That said, it was a little frustrating because that information isn't listed on Yelp or their website -- it's only posted on a sign inside the shop. I'd still come back because the service itself was good, the staff was kind, and the prices are fair. I'd just recommend calling ahead to confirm hours if you're planning to use a walk-in service. Suggestion for the owners: it would really help customers if the website and Yelp page clearly listed the walk-in hours so people know what to expect before they arrive. TL;DR: Affordable, clean, and friendly dog grooming spot with convenient parking. Just call ahead if you're planning to walk in for services like nail trims, since the walk-in hours aren't currently listed online.

Unfortunately, my…read morepartner didn't realize that dogs weren't allowed into the event that we were going to so I needed a last minute doggy daycare urgently!! I was so fortunate to stumble across Precious Pet Car on Yelp! Leila helped me through the whole process of signing up and booking and I was able to schedule a meet-n-greet and book a stay that same morning! Truly such a kind, responsive, and accommodating process. It was my first time ever sending my dog Mochi to a sitter and I was super anxious since he's already 10years old! The meet went even better than expected. The dog area was HUGE and there were so many toys and activity spots for the dogs to play or shaded areas to just rest. Shantae asked about my dog and explained the personalities of the other dogs that would be staying with him and I felt so reassured that Mochi would be just fine. A total bonus that I wasn't expecting was getting picture updates of Mochi having a blast! Seems like the old man got to have a little vacation on his own. Shantae informed me that he whined for a couple minutes after I left, which is normal, and how he got along with the smaller dogs and got to play with the water hose! Such fun surprises to me since he normally ignores little Dogs and water in general! I cannot recommend trusting your fur pets with Leila and her team more!! I was able to celebrate my birthday with ease knowing my dog was in good hands (possibly having more fun than even me!) When I'm down in SD again, I will definitely be utilizing Precious Pet Car services again! Thank you guys so much~

Well, it turns out, so is Nicole!! She made sure she knew everything needed for all 4 of my pets (two cats and two dogs) prior to me going on vacation. Upon checking into the "hotel" we requested to see the area he would be staying in. His "hotel" room wasn't the greatest digs but it was clean and dry. As we were filling out the paper work for him to stay the lady must have asked us 4 times if they were responsible for feeding him while there. Seriously! I started to wonder then if he was going to even get fed for the next two days. I dismissed the horrible feeling and chalked it up to separation anxiety since I had never left my dog with a stranger or a "hotel" before. The part that disgusts me the most is when we returned to pick him up neither the same woman who checked us in nor the teenage boy who brought him out said anything about our dog being injured. As we were walking him to the car we noticed he was limping on his back leg. We immediately went back inside and asked why he was limping. The lady never really said much but the boy said our dog got his foot caught in the door as he was bringing him out and he was only bleeding a little. I looked at this punk kid and the lady and said "A little! Why on earth would you even think about letting us walk out the door and not even mention the fact that my dog just got injured in your facility only a matter of mere minutes ago!!" NEVER AGAIN! However, Christine was able to work her magic to get Sadie engaged every day while we were on vacation. It is a huge relief to know that while we are gone, she isn't hiding and sleeping 24/7, sad and depressed. Sadie played with Christine, ate her wet food daily, and posed for photos to send to mom;-). Now that I no longer live in my old place or in the area, I feel more comfortable writing this…read more Jeremy walked my dog for a few months after I moved to San Diego. He did a fine job, and I didn't have any major issues. My only issue in the beginning was that he told me AFTER our meet and greet that the time clock for walks starts when he walks into the building. I showed him the entrance closer to my place (which is right by the entrance), but he wasn't using that one at first. While I had wished that he communicated this during our meet and greet, I wasn't upset by it after we had established a steady routine. A few weeks/months after I settled into my new job, I had been granted the ability to work from home full time with a few occasional sporadic days in the office. I texted him to tell him that I won't need a walker after a certain date and explained that I'll be WFH. I even told him that I'd still like to reach out on days I'd have to be in-office. Later that day, he called to "ask" me what he did wrong. His tone was extremely confrontational and aggressive. I reiterated that I don't need a walker anymore because my situation had changed. He kept demanding an explanation. Honestly, I felt really put off by this. I had to tell him several times that it's because the situation had changed and it took multiple attempts to get him off the phone. He kept trying to push me because he didn't seem to believe me. Honestly, I don't care if he did. Before this conversation, I probably would have asked him to walk my dog on the days that I'd be in the office, but this made me so uncomfortable. Over the period of several months, he occasionally texted and/or called to ask me if we had any dog walking needs. I didn't answer, but eventually texted him to tell him that we did not. I understand his wanting a "reason" to try to improve. However, I gave him a reason. And even if I didn't, I don't necessarily owe him one to the point where he has to demand one repeatedly.

Each sitter took the time to make sure our pups were comfortable with them and followed the directions we laid out. They sent updates and pictures after every visit, which significantly calmed the helicopter pet parent in me. Special shoutout to Kennedy who became best buds with my usually shy, slow-to-warm-up dog!
