This is my second time taking my mini poodle here, the first time it was great I talked to her groomer before and she knew my dog was scared and to be gentle and patient with her. She did such a great job my dog looked great and my dog seemed to love it. I made an appoint after covid 19 and requested the same groomer as before as well as the same service. When we got there I didn't see the groomer, and the reception lady just took my dog and didn't even ask how I wanted her to be cut or anything. So I brought it up, but was rushed(drizzy was spayed about a month ago n they had shaved her left paw so I wanted herfur to be cut so it would all look even) . When I went to pick up my dog(drizzy) I saw that it was a different groomer and that she had cut drizzy under her arm, she also pointed out she had a patch that was uneven and asked if she had been cut before, which seemed odd because her hair use to be really long and we have never seen anything like this before. When we got home I further inspected her and noticed her other armpit was also cut which was never mentioned,inside her ear there was a cut as well, I also noticed that a lot of her fur had uneven patches. And they didn't even cut her how I asked as you can still notice the different length in her paw fur and the rest of her body. My dog has also been having diarrhea ever since she got back from there. She didn't get a bow or a little scarf and I know the world is going thru rough times but you would think after being closed for weeks that they will do a extraordinarily job to keep customers happy and specially the furry ones. I don't appreciate having a different groomer then the one I specially requested and then it felt like the groomer she got was rushed and not patient with my drizzy. I dont think I will feel safe taking her there again, and wouldn't recommend anyone else either specially for the price which I don't mind paying if my dog is going to get the proper treatment. My response: I know for a fact 100% my dog did not see the same groomer as her first time. The first time she saw a white lady I believe it was Phaedra, and this second time the lady who spoke to me afterwards was a Spanish lady who just kept saying how my dog doesn't like the dryer. I also do believe the picture I posted speak for themselves.And how would your groomer know what cut I wanted if I was never asked until I brought it up. I have also read other posts and don't understand why it would take almost 4 hours to service my dog and 45 minutes for another dog of the same size even if my dog got more done. I'm sorry but I am always down to help small business but from the looks of it somethings need to change in your business. read more

I love Bark n Bubbles! I originally found it 7 years ago when my sheltie was very sick and was soon to pass. No dog spa will take a dog in that condition. I wanted to give my baby her last bath - she loved being clean and made her happy. I brought her in and washed her there myself and one of the people there helped me some as needed. Since it was her last bath, they threw in a free blue berry facial. I have since gotten a new baby - golden who loves to roll in mud. I bring her there often - and the rest of my family brings their dogs there now as well. They offer a grooming service - professional groomer - who cut my baby's hair for the first time - shaping it up a bit. She did a marvelous job! While it's appointment only, they've always been able to acomodate us the same day or day before, and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We also love the fact that they have adjustable water temperature, as opposed to other places we have been to where the water is cold only. I recently took my dog here to be bathed, etc. I paid extra for the de-shedding treatment. It wasn't effective. He sheds just as much as always. He even had tufts on him when they were finished. I paid extra for ear cleaning, but my dog's ears were not clean. In the past, it's normally been a 90-minute appointment. This past one was 60 minutes. Used the DIY part of this about a week ago. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. As advertised, they provide everything you need right there--towels, apron, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, dryer. My only complaint (more of a wish) is to have adjustable-length leads that tie to the dog to the tub. Other than that, after decades of either washing my dog a) in the yard with bucket/hose, b) in a tub, or c) taking them to Affectionate Pet Care (which my dog absolutely hates with a passion and breaks my heart every time I drop him off there).... this place is a breath of fresh air. Yes, it will take you a while, especially if you have a larger dog like I do. But man, what a joy it is to have everything right there. I actually enjoyed spending the time to wash and dry him. And was a joy to see him sit there, very comfortable and not freaking out. I'll definitely be back. read more

I appreciated being able to schedule an appointment when I needed it and I appreciated how the staff helped my little guy feel comfortable when we arrived. I was, however, quite disappointed with the quality of the grooming for the price. It was choppy and uneven in places and was not groomed even close what I expected for the breed of dog. Our family has been going to Bark n Bubbles with our dog Cooper for a few years now and I could never think of taking him anywhere else! Everytime we go, he comes back looking, smelling, and feeling great! We recently took him for his birthday and they sent us home with some lovely treats as a gift! All the staff there are kind and respectful, and treat Cooper the way we want him to be treated. The blueberry facial is a must try and they always trim his nails much better than we can. Some folks in previous reviews have been concerned about pricing, but in my experience Bark N Bubbles staff have always been clear and upfront about their services, including when they introduced their shop fee. Their website clearly explains the difference in their You Wash/We Wash/Professional Grooming packages and add on options, and if it's not listed you can always ask. Working with and grooming pets is not always easy, and some pets present more of a challenge than others or need extra attention, thus incuring additional (yet reasonable) costs. Bark N Bubbles takes the bathing and grooming stress out of our home and into a friendly environment. They help keep our dog (and us!) happy, healthy and smelling fresh, which keeps us coming back! read more

They were very nice and the facility was nice, but my yorkie-poo's haircut wasn't so nice. I had it cut short so it'd be easier to maintain over the winter without getting it cut again until maybe March. There are patches of uneven hair all over his body. This is the first time I've used this place and he's never gotten an hair cut like this at the other places. I don't want to take him back to get it fixed because I don't want to get it too short....I'll just have to wait for it to grow out. They either cut the skin between the toes or it was a nail cut too short but he was bleeding from one of his paws...I'm pretty sure it was a skin cut. Nail being cut too short and the bleeding happens, I'm not happy they didn't tell me when I picked him up and I was alarmed to see spots of blood (bigger than a quarter sized) on my sofa in the evening. I guess he licked off whatever they used to stop the bleeding. I luckily had styptic powder to apply right away. I just wanted to try a place closer to home. Needless to say I'm NOT going back. I wasn't going to bother writing anything at all, thinking this place just didn't work for me and move on, but the haircut is bad enough for my friends to notice and comment, so that kinda triggered me into action. read more

This review is for the "you wash" service. I'm so glad I found this place. I have a shiba inu and he is a shedder! This place is ideal for me because I only need to bathe my dog twice a year so I don't even need to buy my own products. They have everything you need there from various brushes and shampoos to treats so you can calm your scared pup. The hose has good pressure and the shampoo left Dapper's coat soft and fluffy. My favorite was the dryer, cool temperature and good air pressure to get even more fur off him. I wish I brought him here sooner since I was able to try out all the different brushes to see which ones work best on him. And there's no clean up! The helpful employees take care of all that for you. Bathing shiba inus is hard work. Make it easier on yourself by coming here!! read more

I have taken my Springer, Max, who recently turned 5, to numerous groomers in the NOVA area over the past several years. Never have we encountered a consistently skilled, reliable and trusted groomer salon. Examples of my / our frustrations - * groomers who play "shuffle the dogs." Trying to groom 3-4 dogs at once. One time a box store grooming salon had Max for over 6 hours as he was in the rotation with other pups with appointments. All he needed was a bath! * the exasperated groomer who informs me they are "overbooked" and it will be a while. This happens usually on weekends. They overbook to make more $ at the expense of our dogs. Don't overbook! * groomer MIA - I arrive on time to get Max after I get the call, and the one who groomed him is nowhere to be seen. * the "do me a favor" groomer - So I call, apologize for the short notice, and ask if there are any slots open soon. After short hesitation, they agree to "squeeze me in," resulting in a shoddy poor attention to detail bath and cut job. Please, no more favors. * the groomer ghosts - We have had a few wonderful groomers. Unfortunately, many of them move on to other places. I guess that is the nature of the world of groomers. Finally we found BarknBubbles. NONE of our frustrations noted above appear here. The family owners truly care about the quality of their work. Never has Max looked or felt better. The staff ensures that Max is taken care of in a caring, efficient and skillful environment. Yes, they charge a bit more than the box store grooming factories, but the finished product and the way my dog relates to them is priceless. Thank you, B n B! read more

This is a decent place. It's clean, staffed by a bunch of youngish girls, many of whom are friendly, and it offers a wide range of services, with "you wash" and "we wash" as well as treats, collars, etc. I've washed my four-year-old Puggle at this location maybe 6 times, using their self-service area. (I don't know if I've ever paid full price for the "you wash" - There are a variety of deals on the daily deal sites, and also a 1/2 price coupon in the local Entertainment book.) I've interacted with some staff who could stand to be friendlier; I've spent 30 minutes at the self-service area with no one saying anything except "hello" and "goodbye." Now that I've moved to Arlington, I'm not sure how frequently I'll make it back, but if you're in the area, you should definitely give it a try. It's easier on your back than doing it in the bathtub. read more

Did a "you-wash", blueberry facial, and a treat for $26. Great place. It's clean. They offer brushes, shampoo, towels, and an apron upon request. There's a long hose for blow drying. The employees are nice. Someone helped me hold my pup and gave me advice as to how to wash her coat (goldendoode). It really made washing my puppy for the first time FAR easier than it would have been for me if I had done it at home. Note - It can get full - while I was there on a Sunday late afternoon, most of the tubs were in use and there was a bit of a wait as tubs are wiped down before use. No worries, there is a table for you to sit at and a small store for you to peruse while you wait your turn. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's both a self-wash and grooming service spot. I came here using a groupon I bought and it's been great for my pooch. The staff are friendly and helpful, the wash area is kept clean even during busy times of the day. The wash tubs are more than large enough for my 40 pounder but they can also accommodate smaller dogs as well. The groupon came with their signature blueberry facial and although I probably wouldn't get it if I had to pay extra for it, it did smell wonderful. Each tub has its own set of towels, brushes, and an air dryer. Overall this place is worth a trip back especially when my dog gets ultra dirty from a day at the dog park. My dog has such a high level of anxiety when it comes to getting groomed. I called ahead for a nail-trim and explained that she wasn't the easiest "client." They had no issue and told me to bring her in when I was ready. When I got there, they took the time to let her sniff them and acclimate to the surroundings a little bit and went over exactly how they were going to approach the nail-trimming and took her back. Even though Ella was up to her usual tricks, they didn't bat an eye and she came back to the front of the store with her nails looking great and looking less traumatized than when I've taken her to other places. The place is adorable and even has a doggy scale in the front and lots of fun pet products. Prices are reasonable as well. We will definitely be heading back! read more

Why is Bark n Bubbles the best place to take your dog for U Wash Dog Wash Expirence? Well for me and my Sheltie...here are some reasons! Clean clean clean! Great assortment of clean grooming supplies to choose from. A 'dog lift' option for bathing a smaller dog. The water has great temperature control, the nozzel has the perfect pressure (another u wash dog wash in Vienna has a fire hose pressure and my dog was not a fan of that!) The dryer has just the right amount flow - again, at some other place, you can sandblast concrete with the dryer system! Great Parking! Starbucks is just down the walkway. Staff is helpful and friendly. The aprons for the doggy parents are clean - again, some places they can be pretty scary to put on, and smelly - but not at Bark N Bubbles! ....and, the retail area has some great local info and has a nice line of grooming products for sale at reasonable prices! After trying a variety of dog wash and dog grooming services in the area, Bark N Bubbles is the only place we go! :) read more

Our 125 pound Chocolate Lab is treated like family here. I used to come for the You Wash service, but the groomers do such a fantastic job, I've turned the task over to them. I usually opt for the Top Dog which leaves our big Wilson fresh and clean for weeks. This was a very good treasure find. The place is clean and cute. They gave us professional advice and they make customers believe that we're in trustworthy hands, which we were! There's a lot of Dog products to be purchased that they offer too that can't be found in like Walmart or petsmart. My pup is usually really shy to people but she was sniffing and wagging her tail when she first met Gunia for some reason Idk why? But Gunia cut my dogs hair and she was really professional. She had 8 Yeah of experience and even have 4 dogs of her own. Maxie was heavily matted- basically a carpet but Gunia was able to be careful with really minor injuries, like paper cut size. They even put complementary accessories when they were finished with her. I don't even know how they but the bowtie things in her...magic?? well all in all I was very pleased. their prices Are pretty average and for only 6 bucks they cleaned her anal glands. That's pretty good considering Banfield charges like 25 bucks. On a side note, she looked soo different I could barely recognize her..from carpet to Dog haha read more

We love taking our dog to this place! The owner, is a very nice person and takes the time to talk with you and explain things. The staff has always been very helpful and patient while washing our dog. Their location is always clean, doesn't smell like wet dog unlike other places in Springfield(Just Fur Pets). The tubs are cleaned before new use and they use good shampoos and conditioners. They are also wonderful sponsors to various local rescue groups! Would definitely recommend them. read more

Came here for a self dog wash It was just ok The shampoo and conditioner they give you is poor and the really push the blueberry facial. It is difficult drying your dog in the wet tub as he will keep sitting in the wet tub Staff is ok but a little scattered and they don't show the things you need to do to not hurt your dog unlike Destination DOG. I wouldn't have my dog groomed here seeing what the staff does to the dogs. read more

Tried BnB for the first time today and I couldn't be happier. The folks working there were very friendly and attentive and I had my dog's nails cut and filed in 10 minutes. For months I have been looking for a new grooming place. Used to go to Pet Supplies Plus until they stopped scheduling groomers on the weekends, evenings, or any other time that's of use to people who work for a living!!!! If BnB sold kibble, I wouldn't need to go anywhere else. The cost for nail cut and file was $20. A couple of bucks more than I was paying at PSP, but I honestly would have paid twice that for a good groomer. read more

This rating is due to the awful customer service I received today. Given the current environment, I chose to wait outside the tiny front entry for the customer dropping off ahead of me. A woman rudely barged in front of me after I very clearly told her I was waiting outside to respect the space of the first customer. The staff had already greeted me and knew that I was waiting my turn to check in. However the owner, in an effort to diffuse the situation instead of honoring right from wrong, not only helped the woman who had aggressively barged ahead of me and came immediately into my personal space, but she wouldn't even acknowledge that I had been there first. I am very sensitive to social distancing given my weakened immune system. I'm not sure why they bother putting signs up if they don't care about respecting boundaries. To make things even worse, when I asked if they had trimmed my dog's nails (they were still VERY long), she said, "your dog is awful!" My dog is awful? My dog is a canine good citizen and training to be a therapy dog. I hardly believe my dog is "awful." So my reasons for never returning... A) being disrespected, B) the owner's inability to manage a situation and neglect to listen to my concerns, and C) the owner insulting me and my dog. EDIT TO RESPOND TO THE OWNER: "This customer has been using our services from time to time over the past 3 years and things have always gone well." ... We have used you a handful of times and I would not say the visits went well. They were acceptable. We returned because all of the other grooming locations were very backed up but your location had next day appointments. Very telling of your service and the other spot on negative comments posted here. "Today she had an altercation with another client over social distancing and what she perceived as cutting in line ahead of her. In actuality the customer had been checked in and her bather was in the process of coming up front to take her dog. " ... False. The customer was parking while I was waiting outside giving the other customer the respect of social distancing during this pandemic. None of you even began to practice social distancing, nor were you wearing masks. "Her dog does not like her feet touched and we had a difficult time trimming her nails but we did get the job done. " ... so why did you say "Your dog is awful!" multiple times. The nice lady who bathed my dog heard this and apologized for your behavior as I left. She said Willow was a sweet dog and was fine. In regards to getting the job done, it was a hack job and they are still too long. "Her dog was fine for the bath and other services she received today." Of course she was fine. She's a great dog. Unless of course she doesn't like someone, but even then she keeps her cool unlike you and your staff. read more

I never thought I'd miss a dog grooming place so much as I'm already missing bark & bubbles. I just moved out of Fairfax days ago and felt I absolutely had to leave a review for this place. The staff is sweet as can be, incredibly professional, and very good at what they do. I've brought my Pitty-Terrier mix in to Bark and Bubbles for both their "we wash" and "you wash services" for over a year now. I've never been disappointed, The prices are incredibly reasonable, and the quality of care is hard to beat. My dog has actually gotten to the point where she's happy to see the groomers (until they start giving her a bath, of course!!) They only have the highest quality of products made in the USA or, when they can, made right there in NoVa or Maryland. On more than a few occasions I've found myself walking out with one of the locally made collars or dog treats. Keep up the good work, you guys! read more

My 2 pups (Sansa and Riddick) and I just arrived in town from a road trip from the dusty High Desert area of California. Sansa is an anxious little girl, and Riddick is my dusty backyard 90lb digger. I was initially nervous, as both of them took some time (and a few visits) before they were used to seeing their groomer in Cali. The team here at Bark 'N Bubbles were awesome. They took time to sit down and get to know both myself and the doggos. Dunia is awesome and patient, I even saw a difference in Sansa as we were leaving, she had obviously made a new friend. We made several attempts to make an appointment. They were always 2 weeks booked. We finally were able to get an appointment within 24 hours. We had to wait before our dog was able to get her first grooming. The place was over booked. For good reason, it's a nice place to take your dog for grooming. We liked how our dog looked afterward, and she was happy to see us. We were happy with the groomer, but the appointment schedule back log could be improved. The self-wash area is also a nice feature for those who have a dirty pup. Pricing at dog groomers are always relatively expensive, but a dog is not easy to groom either. read more

Jacoby and I LOVED Bark 'N Bubbles. Everyone on the staff is amazing, and they would always greet Jacoby by name as soon as he walked in the door. We moved to Boston, MA last month, and we went in our final self wash (sniff) a few days before we left. They have a rewards program, where after so many self-wash baths (I think 9 or 10), your next bath is free. So, Jacoby's last bath with Bark 'N Bubbles was on the house! I have a puppy and I took her for her first clip at another local groomer and paid handsomely for the service. She didn't look any different except for the face, which was not at all like the picture I showed them. I recently took my dog to bark and bubbles and had a completely different and positive experience. Lauren did an excellent job on my puppy and was very eager to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted and that I was pleased with the outcome. She asked if there was anything that I didn't like about the clip that she could correct, but there was nothing she was absolutely perfect. I recently inherited my Dad's 17 year old Husky mix. I'm sad to say that she wasn't in the best shape grooming wise when I picked her up. Her nails were severally overgrown, and had some matting that needed to be taken care of. I originally just came in to get her bathed, as I was coming in only an hour before they closed. All of the girls there were absolutely wonderful with my senior dog. They took her back, took care of her nails, trimmed up the hair on her feet, and took the hair off her hindquarters to prevent any additional matting. It took so long that by the time they were done, it was time to close. So no bath for my old lady, but the work they did made it much easier for her to walk and they were so gentle with her during everything. They also sent me home with a bunch of tools to start tackling the process of de-shedding her myself. They truly do love the dogs that come in the door, and were so incredibly helpful. I wish I lived closer, because I'd be bringing in both my dogs to see them. read more

Took my older dog to Bark 'N Bubbles for a self wash bath yesterday. He has a long thick coat and needed a good bath and brush out. They provided all the tools I needed plus shampoos that would be gentle on his skin as he has a number of allergy issues. They were more than helpful and made the experience a stress free one both of us. I had never heard before that one way to help remove the shedding hair is to blow the coat with the air dryer while the shampoo is on! Thank you for that tip! read more

They really took care of our baby here! We told them she is really timid of groomers and they made sure to take good care of her. She came out with a little pink banana when we picked her up. They were also petty quick; only took them an hour to groom her. They also have free samples up front so I took one to give to her after the groomers to help her associate the place with good feelings and treats!! The girls who work the front are also super nice and helpful! They came out to check on us when our small baby got into a slight barking match with the bigger dogs. read more

I took my dog, Bentley, to Fairfax Fancy Grooming and they did such a horrible job (worst grooming experience ever) my friend who was with me said we should take him to her groomer (Dunia) at Bark and Bubbles immediately. So we headed over to see if we could just fix his face. Even though they were busy, Dunia took Bentley in and quickly fixed his face. He looked like a completely different dog! I had never dropped my dog there before for a bath and did not review your website for prices. I called for information. And I trusted what she told me. The girl who I spoke with initially explained that everything I requested was included in Top Dog, excluding brush out. Perhaps she needs a refresher on your prices if they are so visibly available. No one explained to me that the brush out price was at your discretion. You imply that my dogs were filthy, old and incapable of standing? You have lost your f*cking mind. Our timid, extremely large dog had his first visit to a bathing facility this week. It was great not to have to strain our backs to bathe him, and my bathroom and drains don't take a hit this way. (This review refers to self service.) The tech advised us to use the gentle shampoo on his face and aloe on the rest of him (he has very dry skin), and to wash him twice. The towels, brushes, dryers, shampoo, etc. are all provided for your use when you go. I thought that under $30 for a 105 pound dog was pretty good! Will definitely be back. read more
