Roughly 45 minutes into the appointment, I received an unusual call suggesting a "summer cut"--a clear attempt to cover up or justify the trauma that occurred to the area during their service. The lack of professional integrity here is staggering: * Non-Disclosure: They failed to clearly disclose the injury at pickup, downplaying a wound that began bleeding again that same evening. * Conflicting Stories: When confronted, their story changed multiple times--ranging from "minor irritation" to "pre-existing" to blaming the dog for scratching it. * Medical Necessity: A vet evaluation confirmed the injury occurred during the grooming timeframe. * Zero Accountability: Despite the vet documentation, the owner flatly refused to refund the service or reimburse the medical costs incurred to fix their mistake. A professional groomer's first priority is safety and their second is honesty. Paws and Spa Grooming failed at both. Second time over the weekend I was pretty clear with why I was wanting for the cut. Leave the length in her leg warmers and trim the rest of the body down. Shape the tail. Well I got her back with almost no leg warmers and butt cheeks... a bit upset because I got her groomed for wedding photos. It was a different groomer this more recent time from the first. Groomer justification was "just removing the damage...". But that's not what I asked. Especially if it meant the leg warmers being completely chopped. read more

I've been using Paws and Spa Grooming for about a year, but my recent experience has made me seriously reconsider continuing with them -- and I would not recommend this business to others. While the groomers themselves are skilled and the staff are friendly, it's clear that the owner prioritizes profit over customer service, employee welfare, and most importantly, the well-being of our pets. Without prior notice at drop-off, I was later told upon pick up there was a new late pick-up policy? They insisted on adding a $25 late fee on top of an already steep $170 grooming charge for a small dog, claiming I had been notified via text, which the notices were mixed into these automated long text messages they sent. This kind of practice feels dishonest and customer-unfriendly. I paid $195 for an average grooming service, and for that price, I expected transparency, communication, and respect -- not surprise charges and defensive responses. The owner, Leah, is very nice and I like to support small businesses. I took my Bichon who I keep meticulously groomed and who is a very friendly, cooperative dog - so she's an easy client. Leah was very friendly and I showed her a photo of what I wanted. I feel we got a relatively good outcome and left satisfied. The second time the haircut was terrible. Uneven with over-cut patches on the body and a poofy bouffant head. This could not have been done (or quality checked) by the same groomer. I took my eight month old Mini Bernedoodle to Paws and Spa yesterday and could not be happier! Leah and Lucas are both so kind and welcoming and put my wacky, energetic puppy at ease right away. Leah suggested a hair cut for Mia and it turned out so cute! I was worried that my dog would be a lot to handle (because she is) and Lucas sent a little video of Mia being groomed and she was being so good, which made me feel better. My dog's hair looks amazing, but equally important to me is feeling safe about leaving her somewhere and knowing she will be treated well and I was not disappointed.
