Recently took my beagle and long haired chihuahua to Featherle on recommendation from a friend. The place they went to previously won't service them as they both have heart murmurs. Featherle had no concerns with grooming them and definitely asked a lot of questions about their health to ensure they took great care of them. Loved the service - from receptionist to groomers. They were efficient and friendly. My chihuahua is quite temperamental and won't let most people touch her - but the groomer at Featherle had a way with her, that I have never seen. She's a dog whisperer! read more

My three pomeranians (two are in heaven) have been a customer at Featherle for years. They come back freshly done on their spa days, and each of them had their own special cut just due to their size and the texture of their coat, which the groomers here professionally take care of because what do I know about how to cut pomeranian's hair? My current baby is a barking king and a bit dramatic, but he comes back with his nails trimmed, ears cleaned and looking and smelling so fresh. This place was recommended to me by my former groomer at PetJoy (whom I absolutely loved) but unfortunately had to close down shop unexpectedly. He said that if he were to take his dog anywhere, it would be at Featherle. I've brought my pup Winston, a long haired dachshund and mini schnauzer mix, here twice. Both times he was welcomed by super friendly dog loving staff! They are super sweet and I love that their entire space is wide open. When you walk in, you can see exactly what's going on. They do cage your dog, something I am not that found of but their treatment outside of the crate is what mattered most. Winston suffers from long standing anxiety- like my poor dude has been on trazodone and Xanax and most recently CBD oil (which works WONDERS) so his grooming experience is so important. If he's super anxious when I pick him up, he will never step foot in that place again. I know he was treated well bc the second time we pulled in, he jumped right out. The reason for the four versus five stars- they are SUPER expensive. I literally pay almost double what I would any place else. And of course I leave a hefty tip bc to me the tip is outside of the regular price so that doesn't factor in. I would say the average price is around $100 for the service (as of Dec 2019) but totally worth it! read more

I asked a very picky Yorkie Mom where she takes her dogs and she said they only see Jenny at Featherle Pet Care in Chantilly. Almost four years later, and i'm still taking my Pomeranian Rico there to see 'Aunt' Jenny! I couldn't be happier with their customer service or the quality of their work. He always looks like a million bucks! You get what you pay for!! I'd recommend the dental scaling if your dog has problem teeth, it costs a bit extra but will save you a $500+ dental at the vet in the long run. They're so compassionate, if your dog isn't feeling having his/her teeth done they won't force it just because you want it. They'll brush instead. That truly shows they care about your pet above all else... I'll never take my dog anywhere else! read more

I took my miniature poodle to get his first haircut and I wish I had come sooner! I did a lot of research on groomers because I wanted to ensure I took Baxter to the best. Based on the previous reviews my experience was superb. They were very nice to us and my dog and they were very nice to the other dogs. We waited the entire time just to ensure our puppy wouldn't be scared. I had a picture of what I wanted my dog to look like and he came out perfect thanks to Mary. They practice dog breed discrimination here! I have been looking for a new groomer and after a few seconds on the phone describing my dog and her breed to Christine, she informs me "due to insurance reasons we are unable to groom your dog". They should get some better insurance! My dog is an American Staffordshire Terrier and is the most friendly and loving dog. Of all the places I have lived this is the only groomer to deny my dog being groomed! End BSL! read more

We had a bad experience here. Our dog is small, but he can be biter when you try to groom him. That's what muzzles are for. We took him to Featherle once and they gave up on him and said he was too much of a problem for them and refused to trim his claws, although they charged us full price. We have never had a groomer refuse to trim his claws. Their answer was for us to bring him back more so he could get used to them. Not a chance. We won't go back. We took him to another groomer last week and they did everything and didn't complain. read more

We came here about five years ago. I used another groomer...they left my dog's belly almost dripping wet. She would look and smell like a dirty dog after 2 weeks. When I first took her to Feathery I was Amazed !!! She had bows and a bandana on. She looked and smelled so fresh and clean!!! Now she only needs a bath every 4-6 weeks. I sometimes have her trimmed, every time they would ask and confirm what I wanted and every time it was exactly what I had asked for. Making appointments is so easy. I've been taking my dog here since he was a puppy upon the recommendation from a customer after he had a bad experience in DC. The service is excellent and they take such good care of my dog. My dog doesn't get along with other dogs, but the salon is so professional that he doesn't misbehave. The salon noticed some health issues that helped prevent an ear infection that both my vet, dog and I are grateful. I enjoy this salon so much that I come out of my way from DC - at least a 30 minute commute if there is no traffic. read more

My poodle is the most dramatic thing in the world. Immediately when we walked in, he didn't whine or shake (very unusual at the groomers) and when I came to pick him up, he literally didn't notice I was there. He normally squeals when he hears my voice when he's getting groomed. He was so relaxed and they did EXACTLY what I asked for, and didn't charge me extra for his matted fur. I have a miniature schnauzer. I used to take him to several other groomers in the area and was rarely satisfied - bad haircuts, my dog was stressed, had to wait weeks for an appointment. I tried Featherle and have been satisfied every time I have my dog groomed here (I am very picky about his haircut too!). They can fit me in their schedule easily - sometimes same day. He is usually finished in about 3 hours as opposed to 6+ at other groomers. My dog usually gets stressed at the groomer, but he is much more relaxed coming here. They even know my dog by name and greet him when we walk in! All of the ladies who work here are very friendly. I definitely recommend Featherle in Chantilly!!! read more
