I love this place! I have 2 yorkies, the oldest is used to getting groomed so he always does great. But my newest one had only had one prior experience with a groomer, to which I was told he would barely sit still and I got charged quite a bit still with barely any noticeable difference. I took them to Bark in Style after I had stopped by for a nail trip and Beata was so gentle with them! I dropped them off in the morning and I loved that we were even quoted an approx time when they would be done. When we picked them up they both were fully groomed and she said that my puppy did great! I'm guessing because she was so gentle with them as she was during the nail trip. I also LOVED that they were roaming behind the desk when we went to pick them up instead of being crated up. I have found a new groomer that does a great job, is gentle, and is reasonably priced. read more

I take my pooch in to have her nails done. If I do them at home we are both traumatized and they aren't short enough. I have them dremmeled Bark in Style and it is so worth the $10. Plus the owner really has a way with dogs. Nellie (my dog) sometimes snaps if she is scared and it never seems like a problem there. Nice, clean shop. read more

My Cavachon (cavalier king charles spaniel mixed with bichon frise) had a lot of anxiety when going to the groomers. Her shaking during cuts mixed with her unique hair caused some really had hair cuts! After doing a little research I tried Bark In Style and haven't gone anywhere since. Every haircut has been fantastic! The groomers are always so nice and excited to see my little pup. They even say that her anxiety has lessened so much. My dog does seem much happier when I pick her up. read more

I called Bark in Style a few days before Christmas so i could get my yorkshire terrier groomed in time for the holidays. To my surprise, they fit him in when I called, and were very nice--so many groomers are quick to get you off the line. I took him in, and when he came out he not only smelled good, he looked great (a little weird, but haircuts do that when you like your dog shaggy) and was pretty happy. He did curl his butt under for a few hours after and I think that is just because of the anal glands? But he was a little traumatized from that. As far as the nails go, I'm super picky and I don't think they cut them short enough OR smoothed them down enough. So I took one star off. Next time I'll let them know and see if it improves. Overall, I'll be taking my dog back and we both had a good experience. read more

I lie not, as he will literally hide under the bed and get embarrassed should he suffer at the hands of a hack. Just had a fantastic experience with Bark in Style. I was a little concerned at first since many reviews were for wee dogs. How would they do with a moose with serious bedhead? The answer is awesome! My 80 lb. Old English Sheepdog came out cute and fresh! He was coiffed to perfection. His late-summer cut was just what I'd imagined. A big thanks to all the great reviews here. I still take my dogs here after my first great experience. They seem a little busier now, so just be sure to communicate well what you want. The dogs -- including the Irish Wolfhound -- still come out looking gorgeous! I usually take them down to Meridian Park before and after for walkies, and hey, Walingford's a nice place to hang out while you're waiting if you have the time. I only wish they had walk-in tubs for giant dogs, I do worry about injuries (to staff, as well as dogs) trying to lift a 180-lb giant up into a tub. I've often wondered if they had a back alley where they could just bathe him standing up with a hose. That is my only worry, other than that, they are amazing. If you have a non-giant dog, it's the place to go!!! I am a loyal customer. read more

My dog doesn't seem as stressed after getting groomed here as when I take him somewhere else. They do a good job but I don't have anything fancy done. You have to reserve an appointment at least a week in advance because they are always fully booked. read more

They are always well-cared for, beautifully groomed, given treats, and happy to be there. They did an amazing job of a summer hair cut on my large dog with a very thick, long, double-coat. Super happy!

My dog enjoys his time here and they shave him so closely that we don't have to get him groomed for a long time. However, he's mostly cavalier king charles spaniel and shaving him so closely not only makes him look ridiculous (that would be a small price to day for a cooler dog with less matts) but makes him struggle with his ears, paws and under flaps after a few days. I think he's not meant to be shaven so closely. We forgot to tell them not to shave him indiscriminately this time like they did before -- we were actually pretty shocked when it happened, because other groomers have always shaped him. Bark in Style errs on the side of not doing it the fancy way. It's our fault - just know that you have to communicate. With some lotion, he's good as new. He likes this place better than the other places he's been - he is relaxed, happy and doesn't want to leave here. Is wanting him to have his curls selfish? Maybe. A good shearing is probably more practical than a dog haircut. They are much less expensive, too, and they don't mind drop offs and pick ups around work hours. read more

I love Bark In Style. The owner is great and always gets me in on short notice. I come out looking fluffy and cute with an adorable bandana. Only time, I don't like it is when my parents get me shaved and then I get sort of depressed....otherwise bark in style is great and she does a wonderful job. I made the mistake of taking my dog (a beautiful fuzzy Shichon) to another groomer due to time contrants and have never been so disappointed!(let's just say the "other" groomer rhymes with "Hetco" located in Crown Hill) My dog looked like a million bucks coming out of Bark n Style...he was happy, realxed and he looked amazing....I picked him up today from the "other" groomer he hadn't been out to do his buisness for 4 hours...and honestly I didn't recognize him!!! We've been to so many groomers in Seattle in our Tibetan Terrier's 2.5 years of life with wildly varying results. Usually they shave her to the skin, she ends up looking like a freakish poodle, or is generally terrified from the whole experience. These kind folks in Wallingford have absolutely been the best! The other reviewers are right! This place is awesome. My dog's fur had gotten out of control over the winter (he's a schnauzer/ malti-poo mix with curly fur) and he needed a new hairdo ASAP. I was able to make an appt online and they had plenty of openings in the next few days so didn't have to wait long. I dropped him off in the AM and when I returned, my scruffy baby looked like a million bucks. I hadn't been too specific with what I wanted but the groomer managed to do exactly what I wanted. The prices were comparable to other groomers in the area but the quality and the overall atmosphere/ experience was top notch. I would definitely recommend them to my friends or anyone and we will definitely be returning here! :) read more

I have brought my little Yorkie here about 3 times. The first time was around 3 years ago and she smelt amazing and was fresh and clean. The second time, she got the hair cut, but didn't smell great like the first time. Then this last time, about 3 weeks ago, I got her back and it looked like NOTHING was done at all. I paid how much???? I left her there for how long???? I am so disappointed. Her fur along her back was trimmed (the wire hair part of her body) but nothing else. Not her tail, not her but, not her pee pee, not her ears, feet, mouth hair, face. Her ears were dirty. I had to express her anal glands later myself. She didn't smell at all. Not like a wet dog. Not like shampoo. Not even like the scent of trying to clean her. Her toenails were still long. Im so disappointed. This place has gone downhill. And now, one month later, (when she usually gets a grooming twice a year) I am taking her to another appt somewhere else today at 130. Adios Bark n Style read more

Avoid by all means. This place has really gone downhill since I took my dog here last. I don't know if they employ different groomers now, but it was going on 4 pm today and my 8 pound toy poodle had been there since 10 to 1 pm today. I called, because I hadn't heard from them, and had a work meeting at 5 pm, I couldn't get out of. The groomer Molly said he'd just been bathed, that's it. she said he'd be ready by 5:30. WTF! plus I could hear my dog screaming in the background. I have my dog groomed every 4-6 weeks, for the past 7 years. It does not take that long, unless they are double booking, which it seems they are doing here. The attitude I got from the staff walking through the door was ice cold, granted I was ticked off, and just wanted to get my dog, so he could get out of the crate he was locked up in, in back. So basically I paid $50 for a bathe and brush, with teeth brushing. so overpriced, I could have done that myself! I left 0 tip. The bitchy attitude, shitty customer service, and unsympathetic attitude and lack of an apology will prevent me from EVER going back. Small businesses take note, you need to earn my business, your not the only game in town, continue with shit customer service, watch your business dry up. They cut my dog's nails to short. They were bleeding. They also lectured me on how my dog doesn't like to be handled and how we should take obedience classes. Well my dog is an adopted dog and he get scared easily and that's just how he is. We also took two series of obedience classes prior. Usually he is good with people who are calm and gentle. Of course if they cut his nails too short he will not want to be touched. Also usually the wait is very long. You drop of your dog in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. I am sure that adds to their stress. So I'll never take my dog there again because obviously he was hurt there. read more

I have been coming here with my three dogs for two years and it has been a wonderful experience! I have an old dog who is scared of the dryer, a deaf dog who is scared of everything and a third dog that won't be quiet! The groomers are amazing; they are very experienced, and will do whatever is needed to make your dog comfortable and happy. I used to take my dog here pretty regularly, but the last few times he's been extremely frightened to go in (and he's typically not scared of anything), and I noticed he won't let me touch his paws anymore. I just picked her up from her second trip and they cut of half of her tail on one side and all around the top that will NEVER grow back. I've brought my Brittany spaniel here a few times, she only gets groomed twice a year. I've booked online and over the phone, and both processes have been good. The shop usually seems a little chaotic. There are a lot of dogs and a lot of commotion. Whenever we arrive the staff give Daisie a treat, and take her to the back. It typically takes 4 hours from drop off until I pick her up. They give her bandanas and although she's always eager to leave (that's been the case at every groomer she's ever been to), her haircuts look good and she smells good! read more
