Located in a corner of Seminary Rd in Bailey's Crossing. Can be missed if you do not read the signs.. This seems like a great location for pet grooming - interiors are clean, doesn't smell (of pets or the strong deodorizing odor after a pet has been groomed) and is plenty large to sit down. They have a lot of products for your pet, which you can purchase in case you are lazy to go to the pet store. We scheduled an appointment for our shih-tzu and we had a decent experience. A member of the team consulted with us for 15 minutes (since we were new). He asked us how we wanted our dog groomed (usually we just get the puppy hair-cut) and gave us options of hair styles, and shampoos, which we found great: personalized service ++. He also acquainted himself with our dog, specially because our dog has some anxiety in a new surrounding. He mentioned that he would rather do it early on then just putting a muzzle or strapping the dog while grooming: care and concern for our dog ++. Our dog had some matting and hence we had to go short on the cut, which is where we had some problems. We found some abrasions (from the clipper) on his neck and ear, and while I understand the short hair-cut was necessary, I was a little put back by this: injury free --. But overall, we received our dog back in one piece :), with a nice little scarf on, he was not traumatized (like he has been at a few other groomers), and enough detail was put into the cut (his backside, nails etc.): attention to detail ++. I will be returning here again with a cautious approach to give them another try, as we will not be needing another short hair cut (atleast for the time being). Price IMO is decent - we paid $65 + $10 (which included shower, cut, nail clipping, glands, ears, teeth brushing), but it depends on the size of the dog. I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars, but am currently giving it 3 stars (actually 3.5 stars) because of the abrasions on our dog during the cut. Will update the review once we give this place another try.

They were professional and provided timely responses to all of our questions. While we were out of town, they regularly sent us photos and updates so we knew Sami was well taken care of. And Leila was such a gracious host to share her home for a long weekend. Can't recommended them enough. So glad we found them. We'll definitely be using Leila Knows Best the next time we travel.

I wish there were more stars to give on this review for Leila Knows Best!…read more My Sansa is a 10 month old Soft Coated Wheaten terrier. The breed is known to be highly intelligent. Her trainer tells me that she is very stubborn with extremely high energy. She is also rebellious and constantly pushing boundaries to see what she can get away with. And I adore her. Sansa was badly injured by her first groomer at age 14 weeks, and had to have emergency surgery, plus 6 weeks of heavy sedation so she could recover. As a result she is now anxious all the time. She is jumpy and scared and ready to bite the hand that wants to leash her-mine! I had left her with a dog sitter for a weekend in September and then reserved the same sitter for the first week of November. I think that the sitter was too polite to tell me that she didn't want to deal with my Cujo-style dog. She called about 12 hours before she was supposed to show up and backed out. I am glad she did because that lead me to Elodie and Moe-"Leila Knows Best", who are THE PERFECT dog sitters. They treated Sansa like she was their own. I know how disruptive she can be, yet they never complained. She was genuinely happy there. I had to extend my trip by two nights and they accommodated her without fussing, hemming or hawing. I received several updates for the 8 days that I was away. They took her to the waterfront to play, for several walks a day and even pulled out a crate for her to sleep in because that's what she is trained to do. I didn't have to lug her crate over. Their place is spotless. They have a beautiful pooch called Leila who seems calm and well trained. Sansa clearly enjoyed her stay with aunty Elodie and Uncle Moe! To Elodie and Moe-I cannot thank you enough! I hope you'll agree to take her again. (Not soon because as Moe said-she is a dog and a half). Lol She is in puppy kindergarten now and should be much easier next time!! If you want someone you can trust with your canine baby, look no further. .

Needless to say he lost the fight and needed emergency care. I called 4 nearby hospitals and they were booked solid. I called this facility and they promised to be ready to help upon arrival. I drove over an hour to utilize this animal hospital, staff met us at the door as promised, then quickly proceeded to treat him. They showed so much care & compassion! A few days ago, I noticed my pup refusing to walk even during nice weather days. His genitalia was dark red & inflamed. I took the voyage back to the hospital and received the same level of care that I remembered. They have an onsite pharmacy, so we went home with 3 Rx & an e-collar. He's healing slowly but surely. We have pet insurance and a wellness plan elsewhere, but I will pay out of pocket for the top tier service & 24/7 coverage that I receive here.

It felt as though profit was prioritized over patient care, particularly when dealing with elderly clients who may not fully understand medical decisions. While I was out of town, my mother-in-law brought in our family dog, Walter, after he fell and became paralyzed from the waist down. He was diagnosed with IVDD, yet no one at this hospital knew what stage he was in. After returning home and doing my own research, I determined that Walter was already at Stage 5 IVDD. I then contacted the veterinarian I work with at a different hospital. Based solely on the information I provided, she was able to conclude that Walter would most likely never walk again due to not receiving surgery in a timely manner. At no point did anyone at Columbia Pike explain the urgency of immediate surgery or that delaying it would drastically reduce his chances of recovery. Instead, we were told that three weeks of medication and strict crate rest would be sufficient. When I later called seeking clarification and guidance, the only recommendation given was to pay for an MRI to obtain more information. Additionally, despite knowing that my mother-in-law would have difficulty administering medications, no one offered basic suggestions such as using pill pockets. As a result, she resorted to giving Walter chicken nuggets to get him to take his medication--something that could have negatively impacted his health. This experience was deeply upsetting and highlights serious issues with communication, medical guidance, and patient advocacy at this clinic. If you truly love your pets and want the best for them, avoid this place at all costs. EDIT : I called 3 times today in the span of 11 hours asking for medical records and still have not received any.
